Electronic-temperature estimation of Joule-heated graphene via Raman investigations

Temperature-dependent Raman scattering provides valuable information on electron–phonon coupling and phonon anharmonicity of graphene. In this study, we show an enhancement of Joule heating in graphene by confining the current flow in a narrow channel. In addition, we performed a detailed analysis of the anharmonic effect in the hBN/monolayer graphene/hBN heterostructure based on the behaviour of the full-width at half maximum of the G mode with increasing electric power: a non-monotonic trend, leading to the key of approximation of the electronic temperature in graphene. We believe our results could offer a convenient analysis tool to study electron–phonon coupling and anharmonic phonon-decay processes in a high-temperature regime.
Electron Interference in a Quantum Ring with a Tunable Magnetic Field Shield

A quantum ring device that can turn on and off the external magnetic field on the ring is developed. The device is to study the effect of the interaction between electrons and external magnetic fields on Aharonov-Bohm interference. The switching is realized by employing a superconducting shield gate and turning on and off the superconductivity on the gate with applied current or magnetic field. The electron interference due to Aharonov-Bohm effect is observed regardless of the presence of the external magnetic field on the electron path of the ring. The result is consistent with the fact that effects of potentials on charged particles exists even in the region where all the field vanish hence no direct interaction between electron and magnetic field is allowed.
금속 표면의 결함 검출을 위한 영역 기반 CNN 기법 비교

A machine vision based industrial inspection includes defects detection and classification. Fast inspection is a fundamental problem for many applications of real-time vision systems. It requires little computation time and localizing defects robustly with high accuracy. Deep learning technique have been known not to be suitable for real-time applications. Recently a couple of fast region-based CNN algorithms for object detection are introduced, such as Faster R-CNN, and YOLOv2. We apply these methods for an industrial inspection problem. Three CNN based detection algorithms, VOV based CNN, Faster R-CNN, and YOLOv2, are experimented for defect detection on metal surface. The results for inspection time and various performance indices are compared and analysed.
PCV결빙 방지 플라스틱 흡기매니폴드 개발에 관한 연구

There have been dramatic changes in powertrain development trend with the rising demands for eco-friendly technology. However the needs for high efficiency internal combustion engine including hybrid engine are still high. At the same time, global automotive industry is facing unprecedented strengthened requirements when it comes to air pollution, climate changes and government regulations. Recently PCV icing problem of intake manifold was reported in extremely cold area by climate change. Intake manifold where PCV outlet is installed is one of key parts to influence the engine performances and PCV icing problem can’t be solved with the conventional design. This study will focus on the development of anti-icing plastic intake manifold. CAE simulation and experiments were implemented to evaluate design validity. Finally endoscopic visualization method was used to examine the behavior of PCV icing in intake manifold.
