        Event-triggered Finite-time Consensus with Fully Continuous Communication Free for Second-order Multi-agent Systems

        This study deals with finite-time consensus problems of second-order multi-agent systems with intrinsicnonlinear dynamics and external bounded disturbances. First, instead of the time-triggered control algorithm, theevent-triggered control algorithm is developed by using integral sliding mode control strategy. Then, a triggeringfunction is explicitly constructed to generate event sequences, and the triggering function is fully continuous communicationfree. Rigorous proof is given by using Lyapunov stability theory and finite-time stability theory. Severalconditions are derived to guarantee the finite-time consensus and exclude Zeno behavior. Finally, a simulation ofsingle-link robotic arms is given to verify the effectiveness of the results.

        OBJECTIVE: We wanted to examine whether changes in the response of maximal exercise on plasma Immunoglobulin between trained takwondo players (T) and Non- trained (NT). SUBJECT: The average age, stature, body mass of trained takwondo players and college men were 25.67±1.21 yr, 25.67± 0.82 yr,, Height 172.83±2.31 cm, 174.30±1.14cm, 67.38±3.24 ㎏, 97.17±3.27㎏. respectively. TEST METHOD : Maximal exercise treadmill test by Bruce protocol. Blood samples were obtained form subjects at rest bed 30 minute before test, after exercise and rest 30 minitue. Blood was drawn 12㎖ from the antecubital vein into sterile, SST-treated tubes(Sekisui, Japan). Just after the tubes were centrifuged(at 3,000 x g for 15 min at 20。 C) to obtain plasma, the samples were stored dry-ice bath until laboratory. The plasma were stored at -80。 C until further analysis. REESULTS: Blood samples were collected prior to exercise (PE) and immediately at the end of maximal exercise(ME). Data were analyzed by paired-sample t test at rest and maximal exercise. In trained and non-trained college men, plasma Ig D concentration was significantly (p<.01) decreased T(1.97 ± 0.33 ㎎/㎗) than NT (2.55 ± 0.57 ㎎/㎗) before exercise and plasma Ig D concentration was significantly (p< 0.01) decreased T(2.01 ± 0.32 ㎎/㎗) than NT (2.72 ± 0.55 ㎎/㎗) after exercise. Plasma Ig E concentration was significantly (p<.05) decreased T(148.40 ± 9.34 ㎎/㎗) than NT (150.90 ± 8.74 ㎎/㎗) before exercise. Plasma Ig M concentration was significantly (p<.05) decreased T(123.83 ± 50.14 ㎎/㎗) than NT (125.48 ± 50.23 ㎎/㎗) after exercise. Plasma Ig M concentration was significantly (p< 0.05) increased ME (1.97 ± 0.33 ng/㎗ than PE(125.48 ± 50.23 ㎎/㎗) in T. Concomitant to the significantly Ig M concentrations were significantly(p < 0.01) increased were PE than ME.

        Effects of Vitamin D Supplementation on Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

        The effect of vitamin D supplementation on individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is inconclusive. We aimed to conduct a meta-analysis of the available randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to explore whether vitamin D supplementation can improve core symptoms and coexisting conditions in children with ASD. Data were obtained by searching the PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, CINAHL and Cochrane Library databases up to February 2022 following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Using a random-effects model, mean differences with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated through a meta-analysis. There were eight RCTs with 266 children with ASD in the present review, among which six RCTs were included in the meta-analysis. Children who received vitamin D supplementation showed a significant improvement in stereotypical behavior scores (pooled mean difference (MD): −1.39; 95% CI: −2.7, −0.07; p = 0.04) with low heterogeneity (I2 = 34%), and there was a trend toward decreased total scores on the Social Responsiveness Scale (SRS) and Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS, p = 0.05); however, there were no other significant differences in the core symptoms of ASD and coexisting conditions between groups as measured by the Aberrant Behavior Checklist (ABC). Vitamin D supplementation appears to improve stereotypical behaviors but does not improve other core symptoms and coexisting conditions. Further randomized controlled trials with large sample sizes and individualized doses are needed.

        Death-associated protein kinase 1 phosphorylates MDM2 and inhibits its protein stability and function

        Breast cancer is one of the major malignancies in women, and most related deaths are due to recurrence, drug resistance, and metastasis. The expression of the mouse double minute 2 (MDM2) oncogene is upregulated in breast cancer; however, its regulatory mechanism has yet to be fully elucidated. Herein, we identified the tumor suppressor death-associated protein kinase 1 (DAPK1) as a novel MDM2 regulator by unbiased peptide library screening. DAPK1 is directly bound to MDM2 and phosphorylates it at Thr419. DAPK1-mediated MDM2 phosphorylation promoted its protein degradation via the ubiquitin–proteasome pathway, resulting in upregulated p53 expression. DAPK1 overexpression, but not its kinase activity-deficient form, decreased colony formation and increased doxorubicin-induced cell death; however, DAPK1 knockdown produced the opposite effects in human breast cancer cells. In a xenograft tumorigenesis assay, DAPK1 overexpression significantly reduced tumor formation, whereas inhibition of DAPK1 kinase activity reduced its antitumorigenic effect. Finally, DAPK1 expression was negatively correlated with MDM2 levels in human breast cancer tissues. Thus, these results suggest that DAPK1-mediated MDM2 phosphorylation and its protein degradation may contribute to its antitumorigenic function in breast cancer.

      • Role of Mitofusin-2 gene as prognostic biomarker for cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma recurrence

        Background: Although vast amount of research has been done on genes related to cancers, it remains unclear whether Mitofusin-2 (MFN2) functions as a tumor suppressor or oncogene in cancer progression. The impact of MFN2 on carcinogenesis is likely to be more complicated than expected, so further research is needed. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of MFN2 on the pathogenesis of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC). Objectives: The objective of the study was to evaluate the expression of MFN2 in cSCC tissue and to investigate the influence of MFN2 expression on the biological behavior of cSCC. Methods: MFN2 expression was detected in a cSCC cohort consisting 111 samples of patients with long-term follow-up by immunohistochemistry. The influence of MFN2 on biological behavior of cSCC cells was investigated in vitro. Results: Increased MFN2 abundance was found in 76 (68.5%) of cSCC patients. In multivariate analysis using age, gender, lesion site, MFN2 as cofactors, MFN2 expression was an independent risk factor for recurrence of cSCC with a hazard ratio of 3.47 (95% confidence invterval, 2.31-15.03; P=0.001). The proliferative, migratory, and invasive abilitiesof the cells were 2.1-, 2.8-, and 3.1 fold decreased after MFN2-knockdown than control cells (all P<0.001). Conclusion: MFN2 may act as an oncogene by affecting the development of cSCC and can be used as a biomarker to predict the prognosis of cSCC.

        Direct Electrochemistry and Photoelectro-Catalysis on Oxygen Reduction Reaction of Titanium Dioxide Nano-Tubes Sensitized by Meso-Tetrakis (4-carboxyphenyl) Porphine with Laccase Accommodation

        TiO2 functionalized by meso-tetrakis (4-carboxyphenyl) porphine was proposed as an enzyme supporter. Laccase molecules were firmly anchored onto the interface of the nanocomplex via the synergy of multiple mutual interactions, including covalent bonding and the adjacent coordination between the enzyme matrix and protein molecules. Morphology, structural features, surface chemistry, and physiochemical properties of the nanocomposite with Laccase tethering were characterized and explored with a variety of techniques such as: microscopy, spectrometry, electrochemistry, etc. The electro-chemical behavior and photoelectrocatalytic function on oxygen reduction reactions were also evaluated. Results from the investigations indicated that interactions between components of the protein carrier and incorporated Laccase molecules would result in partial orderly distribution of Laccase onto the surface of the nanocomplex with an augmentation in the content of hydrophobic α-helix. Such interactions would alter the original mechanism of the electron shuttle in both native Laccase and the Laccase cofactor in that the Laccase T1 site would play the role of inner electron relay. The electro-active site in TiO2 acted as the primary electron acceptor and would dominate the dynamics in charge of transportation. The adjoining ligation between the Lac and porphine derivative would improve the visible irradiation efficiency and catalytic efficacy in the electro-reduction/photo-electrochemical reduction of dissolved O2 to some extent.

        Topology optimization of unsymmetrical complex plate and shell structures bearing multicondition overload

        Unsymmetrical complex plate and shell structure is one of the common engineering structures. In practice, more redundant materials exist because of the irrationality of this kind of structure with heavy load and multiple working conditions, and the study of its topology optimization has become an engaging topic. Using the SIMP model, topological results show that one side of the main web is a hollow structure, and the other side of the auxiliary web is a truss structure. According to the topological results and considering manufacturable processing, a new structure is redesigned, the size and shape of the redesigned structure is secondary optimized, and the final structure is obtained. The method in this paper not only meets the performance requirements of the unsymmetrical complex plate and shell structures, but also realizes the topology and lightweight. The effectiveness scientific research value of the proposed method is verified by engineering examples.

        A novel stricture prevention technique in blunt urethral injury: A multi-center retrospective observational study

        Purpose: Bulbar injury is the most common type of urethral injury. This study investigated the efficacy and safety of a novel technique, local urethral flushing, in preventing stricture formation after blunt bulbar urethra injuries. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study included 205 males diagnosed with straddle injury-induced bulbar urethra injury at the Shanxi Bethune Hospital and First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University between January 2015 and January 2019. Patients were diagnosed by retrograde urethrography and classified as partial or complete urethral rupture according to the urethral integrity after injury. Complete urethral rupture patients received suprapubic cystostomy and received urethroplasty 3 months later. Patients with partial urethral rupture underwent endoscopic urethral realignment by cystoscopic guide-wire guided catheterization. Patients with both injury types were divided into 3 groups. The treatment groups received urethral flushing with 0.05% dexamethasone through a secondary ureteral catheter that locked at the urethral lesion. The blank control groups received normal saline. The negative control groups had only a single ureteral catheter placed. Patients were assessed for pain during catheterization, infection, and stenosis, and followed for at least 2 years. Results: Stenosis rates and length were significantly reduced in the normal saline groups, and even further reduced in the dexamethasone groups. The negative control groups had significantly higher infection rates than patients in the dexamethasone or saline groups. Conclusions: Local urethral flushing with dexamethasone could significantly decrease urethral stenosis rates and severity without increasing patients’ discomfort or infection risk.

        Layout Optimization of Stiffeners in Heavy-Duty Thin-Plate Box Grider

        The optimization of layout and sizes of the stiffeners in heavy-duty box girder could make this kind of the structure more compact and reasonable, which has certain engineering values. In this study, on the basis of the establishment of parametric finite element model, the function approaching method and gradient search method are combined to form a high-precision optimization algorithm, which makes structural analysis be integrated into the optimization process. The optimization takes the type and location of longitudinal stiffening ribs and the thickness and hole position of transverse diaphragms as design variables, the box girder structural behaviors as constraint conditions, and the total volume as objective function. Finally, the weight is reduced by nearly 7%. More importantly, the new asymmetrical layout of the stiffeners is obtained, the distance between the longitudinal stiffening ribs on the main web and the neutral layer is longer than the distance between the longitudinal stiffening ribs on the secondary web and the neutral layer, and the hole position of transverse diaphragms is close to the secondary web. Compared with the current production of symmetrical layout structure, this layout provides a new idea for the design of stiffeners in the bias-rail box girder.
