Research on Embedded Image Edge Detection Algorithm

With the development of embedded technology, the embedded image processing algorithms are becoming more and more complex. Edge detection is the basic algorithm of image processing, which is used in the extraction of information from the image. Laplacian operator is useful for the edge detection. Especially, the operator can be determined by the zero crossing point of the two differential positive and negative peaks. In order to meet the fast hardware implementation of embedded image processing, this paper presents the hardware acceleration of Laplacian operator by Zynq-7000. Using HLS method, the complex image algorithm is automatically translated into hardware language, and the function of the algorithm can be quickly completed. The experimental results show that, the embedded hardware accelerated image based on Zynq-7000 can not only realize software programming and hardware programmable combination, but also improve the embedded system flexibility, scalability, and accelerate embedded image processing product design time.

Stainless steel dust (SSD) can be utilized as the primary raw material for the production of Fe-Cr-Ni-Mn system black ceramicpigments because it is high in transition metal elements. However, in addition to the ingredients required for the preparationof black pigments, it also contains some impurity elements like Ca, Mg, Si and Zn, and the influence of these impurity elementson the coloring performance of the pigments is unclear. In this paper, pure chemical reagents were used as raw materials tosimulate the main components of SSD for the solid-phase synthesis of black ceramic pigments doped with various impuritycomponents (CaO, MgO, SiO2 and ZnO). The results show that the doping of MgO can improve the purity of the preparedblack ceramic pigments, whereas CaO, SiO2 and ZnO can turn the pigments become reddish yellow. In the doped samples,ZnO and MgO mainly react with Fe2O3 to form ZnFe2O4 and MgFe2O4. In addition, CaO reacts with Fe2O3 to generateCaFe4O7. The reactions described above can increase the average crystallite size and distort the crystal lattice of the crystalsin the pigment samples. Moreover, SiO2 exists in amorphous form among spinel grains.

Peptidoglycan recognition proteins (PGRPs) discriminate and bind peptidoglycans by acting as pattern recog nition receptors (PRRs) in insects, and function pivotal roles in innate immune response. In the present study, we cloned a full-length PGRP gene designed as OfPGRP8 from the Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenée). Its mRNA exhibited the highest abundance in fat body, and its expression level upregulated dramatically after bacterial challenges. Purified recombinant OfPGRP8 exhibited intensive binding capacity to peptidoglycans from Staphylococcus aureus and Micrococcus luteus. Additionally, recombinant OfPGRP8 could inhibit the growth of S. aureus, M. luteus. However, recombinant OfPGRP8 could not cause agglutination of S. aureus, M. luteus or Escherichia coli. Furthermore, we also demonstrated that OfPGRP8 may be involved in modulating the signaling pathway of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) synthesis. In sum, our results provided evidence that OfPGRP8 dis criminates peptidoglycans from microbes and acts as a PRR to initiate downstream immune signaling pathways.
Design Method for the LCL Filters of Three-phase Voltage Source PWM Rectifiers

A new design method for the LCL filters of three-phase voltage source PWM rectifiers is presented in this paper. Based on the single-phase harmonic equivalent model, the harmonic voltage of the rectifier side is calculated to design the LCL filter parameters by an iterative algorithm, in which the resonance frequency $f_{res}$ and the ratio r between the grid-side inductance and the rectifier-side inductance are selected as known constants. The design criteria and process are introduced and the influence on the design result by the value of the resonance frequency $f_{res}$, ratio r is analyzed. Finally an example (600V, 500kW) is tested by simulation and experiment to verify the validity of the new design method.

A new hectorite/poly(acrylamide/itaconic acid) nanocomposite hydrogel was synthesized by inverse microemulsion polymerization. The effects of crosslinker amount on water absorbency and salt absorbency, swellability, pHsensitivity, gel strength, temperature-and shear-resistance were investigated. Water and salt absorbencies, pH-sensitivity and swellability decreased, while gel strength and temperature-and shear-resistance increased with increasing crosslinker amount. Nanocomposite hydrogels had good thermal stability with onset decomposing temperature of 252 oC. The as-synthesized hydrogel particles were regular and spherical-like and had an average particle size of 43 nm in the range of 30-65 nm. Hectorite clay platelets were exfoliated and transformed into amorphous structure.

The characteristics and dynamical mechanism of summer-time coastal current over the North South China Sea shelf have been investigated based on a high resolution unstructuredgrid finite volume community ocean model (FVCOM). Modeldata comparison demonstrates that the model describes and explains well the coastal dynamics over the North South China Sea shelf. The coastal current on the North South China Sea shelf is greatly influenced by monsoon and the freshwater discharge of the Pearl River. Strong southwesterly wind drives the coastal current northeastward. However, under weak southwest monsoon, the coastal current west of the Pearl River estuary (PRE) advects toward the southwest, and splits into two parts when reaching east of the Qiongzhou Strait, with one branch entering the Gulf of Tonkin through the Qiongzhou Strait, transporting low salinity water into the Gulf of Tonkin, and the other part flows cyclonic and interacts with the northeastward current around southeast of Hainan Island, forming a cyclonic eddy east of the Qiongzhou Strait. A variety of model experiments focused on freshwater discharge, wind forcing, tidal rectification, and stratification are performed to study the physical mechanism of the southwestward coastal current which is usually against the summer wind. Process-oriented experiment results indicate that the southwest monsoon and freshwater discharge are important factors influencing the formation of southwestward coastal current during summer.
