Lee, Hyukmin,Unemo, Magnus,Kim, Hyo Jin,Seo, Younghee,Lee, Kyungwon,Chong, Yunsop Oxford University Press 2015 The Journal of antimicrobial chemotherapy Vol.70 No.9

Objectives: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Neisseria gonorrhoeae is a major concern globally; however, no comprehensive AMR data for gonococcal isolates cultured after 2006 in Korea have been published internationally. We determined the susceptibility of N. gonorrhoeae isolates cultured in 2011-13, the mechanism of extended-spectrum cephalosporin (ESC) resistance and the molecular epidemiology of gonococcal strains in Korea. Methods: In 2011-13, 210 gonococcal isolates were collected in Korea and their AMR profiles were examined by the agar dilution method. The penA, mtrR, penB, ponA and pilQ genes were sequenced in 25 isolates that were resistant to ESCs and 70 randomly selected isolates stratified by year. For molecular epidemiology, N. gonorrhoeae multiantigen sequence typing and MLST were performed. Results: None of the N. gonorrhoeae isolates was susceptible to penicillin G and most were resistant to tetracycline (50%) and ciprofloxacin (97%). The rates of resistance to ceftriaxone, azithromycin, cefpodoxime and cefixime were 3%, 5%, 8% and 9%, respectively. However, all isolates were susceptible to spectinomycin. Twenty-one (84%) of the 25 ESC-resistant isolates contained the non-mosaic PBP2 XIII allele; however, the remaining 4 (16%) possessed the mosaic PBP2 X allele, which has been previously associated with ESC resistance including treatment failures. Conclusions: In Korea, susceptibility to spectinomycin remains high. However, the recent emergence of ESC-resistant N. gonorrhoeae strains, including strains possessing the PBP2 mosaic X and non-mosaic XIII alleles, is a major concern and enhanced AMR surveillance is necessary to prevent transmission of these strains.

A Study on Psychological Change of Depressed Children in a Psychotherapy Program with Loess
Lee Younghee,Lee Sangdo 국제온돌학회 2016 International Journal of Ondol Vol.9 No.2
The purpose of this study is to develop a psychotherapy program using loess that can help to reduce depression and daily life stress and to improve self - esteem. When depression begins in childhood, it is confirmed that the recurrence rate is very high in adulthood. There was no significant change in depression as a physical symptom with the use of loess, but it was significantly decreased in negative depression symptom that derogatory oneself, and significant decrease in loss of interest, behavioral problems, and depressed emotions. This suggests that psychological and social intervention for children with depression can be effectively promoted and depression can be reduced by suggesting appropriate psychotherapeutic interventions for children to cope with depression.
A Verification of Fault Tree for Safety Integrity Level Evaluation
Younghee Lee,Jinkyung Kim,Junghwan Kim,Il Moon 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8
This study focuses on a novel approach which automatically proves the correctness and completeness of fault trees based on a formal model by model checking. This study represents that the model checking technique is useful when validating the correctness of informal safety analysis such as FTA. The benefits of this study are that it provides the probability of formally validating FTA by proving correctness and completeness of the fault trees. In addition to this benefit, it is possible that the CTL technique proves the FTA based SIL.
Application of Distance Education for Mathematics of Junior High School
Lee, Younghee 한국수학교육학회 2002 수학교육연구 Vol.6 No.2
Recently a new type of educational method through the internet, distance education, has been developed with technology development. To find out any complement between distance education and traditional in-class education, a series of study with junior high school mathematics were conducted. Both distance education and in-class education have merits and shortcomings. Some advantages with distance education shown from the study can be used for complement to in-class education depending on the contents and subjects. Distance education in mathematics education can be a good turning point for future education.
The Predictability of Receptive Vocabulary Size : to Assess College Students’ TOEIC?? Readiness
Younghee Cheri Lee 한국영어학학회 2021 영어학연구 Vol.27 No.1
This article examines whether receptive vocabulary size can forecast college students’ TOEIC?? readiness using the New General Service List Test (NGSLT). A growing body of empirical research has evidenced that L2 vocabulary knowledge is one of the most vital factors in language learning and academic success in the EFL context. Of convincing arguments on the predictability of L2 learners’ vocabulary size, it has been claimed that L2 learners’ vocabulary size is strongly correlated with receptive skills of language like reading and listening. Even though Korea is one of the biggest consumers of the TOEIC?? assessment arranged by the ETS, however, TOEIC?? readiness has rarely been problematized in practical aspects assisting college students’ career goal-oriented language learning needs, thereby failing to help students aware of their TOEIC?? readiness in advance without any financial burdens imposed on themselves. This study thus sought to investigate the correlated linear relationship between the NGSLT Vocabulary Size Scores and the official TOEIC?? Test Scores produced by over four hundred two-year college students majoring in airline services. Overall, it was attested that the New General Service List Test (NGSLT) had a high predictive power of the TOEIC?? readiness for those collegiates seeking a position as a flight attendant in the airline industry. This study concludes that what starts as building L2 vocabulary size can quickly escalate into the TOEIC?? skills’ growth, entailing the enhancement of L2 English proficiency both in reading and listening. Some pedagogical implications will also be addressed pertaining to how L2 learners can self-promote autonomous learning.
The hallmarks of L2 writing viewed through the prism of translation universals
Younghee Cheri Lee 경희대학교 언어정보연구소 2018 언어연구 Vol.35 No.S
Rooted in a perception that second language (L2) writing bears neither resemblance with nontranslated counterparts nor relation to translation, this article explores the untested terrain of revealing lexical and textual attributes unique to L2 writers texts, thus identifying their linguistic qualities from the angle of translation universals. Setting plausible parameters to discern translational instances related to lexical and syntactical choices, this article argues that idiosyncratic properties shared by translated English may typify the hallmarks of L2 writing produced by non-anglophone scholars in English disciplines. By compiling the comparable corpora of English journal abstracts consisting of 638,764 tokens, it is shown how salient translational features arise in expert L2 writers texts in compliance with corpus linguistics. Kruskal-Wallis tests are applied to evaluate linguistic indices that make Korean scholars L2 writing distinct from native scholars’ original writing. On a substantial level, a general presumption on the interrelatedness between expert L2 writers English and translational English has turned out to be warranted, meaning that Korean scholars L2 writing can be marked by universals of simplification, normalization, explicitation, and convergence in their broad outlines. It can be deducible from the findings that regardless of L2 proficiency levels, second language writers may be destined to go through a ‘mental translation as an inescapable cognitive mechanism during the L2 writing process, which in turn renders translational manifestations pervasive in the ‘product’ of L2 writing. The terminal pedagogical aim building metacognitive awareness to be mindful of second language processing, thus, this article concludes that expert L2 writers need to equip themselves with metacognitive strategies, thereby being consciously and explicitly aware of what to avoid and what to accept during the process of L2 writing entailing mental translation.

The objective of this study is to examine the precedents influencing the intended use for u-store service. The analysis is conducted by an empirical method y field survey. The analysis results show that the ease of use, perceived usefulness, and perceived risk influence the use intention. The results also show that contextual access influences the perceived usefulness and perceived risk severity. This study verifies the importance of the information related to contextual access, as well as the necessity to prepare countermeasures for security on privacy risk, which users already perceive.
