Abstract. We present a new seafloor map for the northern Antarctic Peninsula (AP), including swath multibeam data sets from five national programs. Our map allows for the examination and interpretation of Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) paleo-ice-flow paths developed on the seafloor from the preservation of mega-scale glacial lineations, drumlinized features, and selective linear erosion. We combine this with terrestrial observations of flow direction to place constraints on ice divides and ice domes on the AP continental shelf during the LGM time interval. The results show a flow bifurcation as ice exits the Larsen B embayment. Flow emanating off the Seal Nunataks (including Robertson Island) is directed toward the southeast, then eastward as the flow transits toward the Robertson Trough. A second, stronger 'streaming flow' is directed toward the southeast, then southward as ice overflowed the tip of the Jason Peninsula to reach the southern perimeter of the embayment. Our reconstruction also refines the extent of at least five other distinct paleo-ice-stream systems that, in turn, serve to delineate seven broad regions where contemporaneous ice domes must have been centered on the continental shelf at LGM. Our reconstruction is more detailed than other recent compilations because we followed specific ice-flow indicators and have kept tributary flow paths parallel.

In most sports which are age-grouped annually, players born in the early part of a grouping period are more frequently found in subsequent categories over others from their cohort. This phenomenon is called the relative age effect (RAE). The goal of this research is to determine the impact of shifting the eligibility period on the RAE in elite minor ice hockey players in Quebec. From 2002 to 2008, the reference date for allocating categories began October 1. In 2008, it was moved back to January 1. The RAE is reported for 6 seasons, 3 before and 3 after the reference cut-off date was moved back to January 1. Data from the 2005-2006 to 2010-2011 seasons were available for 13,982 minor ice hockey players. The RAE was present in each season before and after the reference date shift in 2008, as indicated by a significant over-representation of players from the 1st quarter of each competitive year whether it began October 1 or January 1. As an example, players born in the first trimester (October to December) of the eligibility year 2007-2008 represented 44.94 % of all Midget AAA players. After the shift, players from the first trimester (now January to March) of the 2010-2011 season were representing 41.57 % of all Midget AAA players and players from the fourth quarter (now October to December) were representing 12.16 %. Results confirmed the presence of a RAE in elite minor ice hockey whatever the beginning of the eligibility period. The RAE is a robust phenomenon and its impact is re-established rather rapidly when the cut-off date is changed.
The role of autonomous demand growth in a neo-Kaleckian conflicting-claims framework
Won Jun Nah,Marc Lavoie 한국사회경제학회 2017 한국사회경제학회 학술대회 자료집 Vol.2017 No.여름
This paper incorporates the role of an independently growing autonomous demand component into a neo-Kaleckian model of growth and distribution where the distribution of income is fully endogenized. The model presents the combined dynamic effects of the conflicting-claims, the Sraffian supermultiplier, the Harrodian instability mechanism and the reserve army of labor forces. The key features of the model include the convergence towards the steady state in the long run where it achieves the normal rate of utilization of capacity and the stable rates of employment and inflation. Even with this classical convergence, the model vindicates that some of the main Keynesian tenets still hold even in the long run in the sense that both the average rates of accumulation and utilization decrease during the whole traverse after either an increase in the marginal propensity to save out of profits, or an upward adjustment in the claims on profits, or an enhancement of the bargaining power of capitalists relative to workers.
2 위치가 치환된 5-니트로 Benzimidazole 유도체들의 Topoisomerase I 억제 활성
권민진,김정선,Edmond J. LaVoie 대한약학회 2003 약학회지 Vol.47 No.3
A series of 2-phenyl-5-nitrobenzimidazoles substituted at the para positon of the 2-phenyl moiety was synthesized & evaluated for their activity to inhibit topoisomerase I. The structure-activity relationship study revealed that neither the electronic nor lipophilic parameters were related to the topoisomerase I inhibition. A strict spatial requirement seems to be present for retention of topoisomerase I inhibition activity.

Tetrasomy 8 is a relatively rare chromosomal abnormality that has been reported in only 33 cases in hematologic disorders. It is known for its association with aggressive acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myeloid sarcoma and is considered a very poor prognostic factor. Myeloid sarcoma is a rare hematologic malignancy characterized by tumor masses consisting of immature myeloid cells, presenting at an extramedullary site. We present a case of a 17-year-old boy referred for an $^{18}F$-FDG PET/CT for the evaluation of pleural masses and spinal bone lesions seen on CT, after presenting with a 4 month history of chest pain. The PET/CT revealed extensive FDG-avid extramedullary disease in the soft tissues of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis, which were biopsy-proven to be myeloid sarcoma, as well as extensive intramedullary disease biopsy proven to be AML. This is the first report of the use of $^{18}F$-FDG PET/CT to stage a subset of aggressive AML and myeloid sarcoma in a patient with an associated chromosomal abnormality (tetrasomy 8).
Demand-led Growth and Long-run Convergence in a Neo-Kaleckian Two-sector Model
( Jung Hoon Kim ),( Marc Lavoie ) 한국경제학회 2017 The Korean Economic Review Vol.33 No.1
This paper analyzes a two-sector model, with consumption and investment sectors, which incorporates both Kaleckian and Classical views. Starting from a model where investment depends on actual profit rates and rates of capacity utilization, we characterize three regimes with different investment functions and specific adjustment mechanisms to bring about a uniform rate of profit and convergence between the actual and the normal rates of capacity utilization. We find that the paradox of thrift holds in the long run for all regimes. With regards to income distribution, results concerning wage-led growth and the paradox of costs are more ambiguous. The reproportioning of the capital stock between the two sectors is also discussed. We conclude that our analysis provides some justification for using simple one-sector Kaleckian models, since the results achieved with the two-sector model are roughly in conformity with those of the one-sector model, depending on the closure being used.

Purpose: This study investigated the effects of ovariectomy (Ovx) and 12 weeks of resistance training (RT) on gene expression of GLUT2, the main glucose transporter in the liver, and on PPARγ, a transcription factor known to target GLUT2 expression. Methods: Forty Holtzman rats were divided into 5 groups: Sham-sedentary (Sed), Sham-RT, Ovx-Sed, Ovx-RT, and Ovx-Sed with hormone replacement (E2). The RT protocol consisted of sessions held every 72 h for 12 weeks, during which the animals performed 4 to 9 vertical climbs (1.1 m) at 2 min intervals with progressively heavier weights (30 g after the fourth climb) tied to the tail. The E2 silastic capsule was inserted into the rats’ backs 48 hours before the first RT session. Results: In addition to liver fat, GLUT2 protein levels and PPARγ transcripts were increased (P < 0.05) in Ovx compared to Sham-Sed animals, suggesting increased hepatic glucose uptake under estrogen deficient conditions. RT and E2 in Ovx rats decreased liver fat accumulation as well as GLUT2 and PPARγ gene expression to the level of Sham-Sed animals. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that liver GLUT2 as well as PPARγ expression in Ovx rats are accompanied by increased fat accumulation and glucose uptake, thus providing a substrate for increased de novo lipogenesis. RT appears to be an appropriate exercise model to circumvent these effects.

Thalidomide is an immunomodulatory drug (IMiD) with proven therapeutic action in several autoimmune/inflammatory diseases; however, its inherent high toxicity has led to the development of more powerful and safer thalidomide analogs, including lenalidomide and pomalidomide. These are new generation IMiDs that exhibit direct antitumor activity as well as anti-inflammatory/immunomodulatory properties, and are FDA-approved for the treatment of several hematological malignances. Here we investigated the potential therapeutic effects of lenalidomide and pomalidomide in several experimental murine models of autoimmune/inflammatory diseases: 2,4,6-trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid- and dextran sulfate sodium-induced inflammatory bowel disease and type II collagen-induced arthritis. Lenalidomide displayed a strong therapeutic effect in all these models of autoimmune/inflammatory diseases, while the effect of pomalidomide was less pronounced. In vitro experiments confirmed the immunosuppressive effect of both IMiDs on the proliferative response of stimulated human lymphocytes and on the balance of secreted cytokines toward an anti-inflammatory profile. We conclude that lenalidomide may offer a therapeutic opportunity against autoimmune/inflammatory diseases.
