<P>A Novel Design Optimization For Reliable Networking Is Investigated In Ethernet Ring Mesh Networks With The Itu-T G.8032 Ethernet Ring Protection Recommendation. Designing An Ethernet Ring Mesh Consisting Of Multiple Rings To Achieve The Maximum Network Availability Is An Np-Complete Problem. We Show That A Graph With Vertex Connectivity Equal To Or Greater Than Two Is A Sufficient Condition For Designing An Ethernet Ring Mesh. A Novel Design Rule With An Efficient Heuristic Algorithm Is Proposed To Find A Design Close To An Optimal Ethernet Ring Mesh In Terms Of Maximum Network Availability. Compared With An Optimal Network Design Algorithm With An Exponential Enumeration Search Cost, The Heuristic Algorithm Achieves Network Availability Nearly As High As That Of An Optimal Design At A Polynomial Cost.</P>

Head injury is one of the most serious injuries causing fatality in side crash accidents. So a lot of vehicles are equipped with the curtain airbag these days as a standard countermeasure for the head injury. But the vehicles lack a roof for mounting the curtain airbag cannot avoid being exposed to the dangerous head injury risk in the event of side collision. Head and thorax airbag has been adopted for this kind of non-roof vehicles to provide head protection, but it cannot protect the head perfectly in a timely manner. So the Door Mounted Inflatable Curtain(DMIC) was designed to improve head protection performance for non-roof vehicles such as convertible. DMIC is mounted at the door inner panel and pops up from the door module assembly. It can effectively protect not only the small female’s head but also bigger male’s one. This paper presents the design and the performance of DMIC in various test conditions such as pole and moving deformable barrier.

The mechanical driver is a driving equipment for compressors that are mojor equipment at LNG plant. So, the selection of the mechanical driver is important because that factor affect CAPEX, OPEX and availability of whole plant. In the past, a gas turbine was only a method for driving compressors and considered for mechanical driver. But, recently, a electric motor is considered because of developing the technology about turbo-machinery. In this study, the process of selection of mechanical driver type is studied which is more suitable equipment among two turbo-machinerys.

Radiator fan and Condenser fan of automotive seriously influence on noises and vibrations. which affect on the performance of automotive. Recently, according to the tendency to the more comfortable car, the improvement of performance of the cooling fans is required. The purpose of this paper is to develope the cooling fan with much higher performance. The performance of the cooling fan is influenced by many factors. The factors are searched by a simulation and verified by an experiment. Finally, the performance of the developed cooling fans by this study is compared with that of a existing cooling fan in market.
