        This paper proposes a novel model of multimodal biometric authentication server. We propose homogeneous multimodal system, different from conventional multimodal system, in which vein pattern recognition is collaboratively used with fingerprint recognition to improve the usability of biometric authentication. As for biometric identification server, proxy (cache) server is introduced to minimize the authentication delay by reducing the time of database search and template access. Also, a new biometric service protocol is formulated to support application program interface for biometric service provider.

        We propose a fingerprint matching algorithm that compares distance and included angle sequence among minutiaes with another's. We defined this sequence as minutiae constellation which has a basic unit is distance and included angle sequence among three minutiaes. This algorithm searches nearest minutiae from a minutiae and repeatedly searches nearest minutiae from just before searched minutiae. It doesn't search core and is independent of translation and rotation because matching stage only uses distance and included angle sequence.

      • 복수 정맥패턴 영상의 융합 알고리즘에 관한 연구

        This paper proposes a fusion algorithm which merges multiple vein pattern images into a single image, larger than those images. As a preprocessing step of template matching, during the verification of biometric data such as fingerprint image, vein pattern image of hand, etc., the fusion technique is used to make reference image larger than the candidate images in order to enhance the matching performance. In this paper, a new algorithm, called BSA (Boundary Stitching Algorithm) is proposed, in which the boundary rectilinear parts extracted from the candidate images are stitched to the reference image in order to enlarge its matching space. By applying BSA to practical vein pattern verification system, its verification rate was increased by about 10%.

        This paper presents a novel method for automatic synthesis of application specific hardware using instruction stream. The behavior of the given application is described with the instruction stream whose instructions are defined on an abstract machine model. Therefore, synthesis problem can be modeled with the mapping problem from abstract machine to the specific hardware optimized to the given instruction stream. This mapping process includes control path synthesis as well as data path synthesis. Also, the connection topology is deeply considered in the optimization process of data path and control path. The scheduling of instruction stream is performed not in the instruction level but in the micro-operation level, which results in performance improvement at the expense of the flexibility of pure instruction. The proposed synthesis approach will provide a practical solution for system designer.

      • 정신과 문제로 병사용 진단서를 발급받은 환자들의 임상적 특징

        Background and Objectives : Most Korean young men should take a military physical examination. This study attempted to search the social, economical and psychological features of Korean youths who have psychiatric problems in taking the military physical examination. So this study was intended to help decide whether the youths enter the military service or not. Materials and Methods : This study analyzed diagnostic features that were grouped by 7 categories (antisocial and borderline personality disorder group, the other personality disorders group, psychosis group, organic mental disorder group, neurosis group, pervasive developmental disorders group, the other groups). The study was conducted from 1994 to May 1999 at Chosun University hospital with about 143 patients who were issued the psychiatric certificate for military affairs. Results : According to the results of the psychiatric examination, the antisocial and borderline personality disorder group had increased more year by year than the other groups. Classified by the residential distribution, the residents of agricultural areas belonged to the psychosis group more than others. Classified by the job distribution, the antisocial and borderline personality disorder group had more gangsters than the other groups. Also the pervasive developmental disorders group included those Who were without an occupation. Classified by visiting companion, those who were included in the antisocial and borderline personality disorder group and pervasive developmental disorders group used to come alone as compared with the other groups. In the case of those who have experienced psychiatric treatment in the past and who have been treated psychiatrically after being given the psychiatric certificate, the psychosis group comprised more than 50% statistically. In the case of the existence of a tattoo and self-injured scars, the antisocial and borderline personality disorder group has more than the others statistically. According to psychological examination, by measure of validity scale of MMPI, the antisocial and borderline personality disorder group appeared as the inverted V shape that L, K value was low and F value was high. And the antisocial and borderline personality disorder group measured by the Pd, Pa measure. Pd, Pa measure value got higher points than the organic mental disorder group statistically. Conclusion : The number of the antisocial and borderline personality disorder patients’ visits increased at the psychiatric hospital year by year and there were many gangsters or persons without regular occupation in that kind of patients’group. And there were many visitors who came by themselves to the hospital. Also they tended to have a tattoo or self-injured scars. And most of patients didn’t do commuting psychiatric care after receiving the psychiatric certificate. In the aspect of the psychological examination, they were likely to exaggerate their symptoms or disguise having psychiatric trouble intentionally.

      • 핫 캐리어에 의한 비균일 열화에 관한 연구

        using the uniform stress with the Fowler-Nordheim tunneling, the charge traps generated in gate oxide and the interface traps generated in silicon-silicon dioxide interface were measured and analyzed to verify the origin of the degradation for device performance. With the avalanche hot carrier injection methode applying the stress between the gate and the drain terminals as a nonuniform stress, the amount of charge traps were measured in the forward and reverse methode respectively. In case of the interface trap charges we observed that the vicinity of drain channel took 20% more damage comparing with the other channel region in MOSFET but the oxide trap charge spread uniformly along the whole channel region. As a result of this study the MOSFET degradation under the hot carrier stress arising the asymmetry characteristics during device operation is mainly due to the interface traps generation.

        In this paper, features and efficiencies of the 3D engine are described which has been developed through the research of 3D real time rendering techniques. And an on-line shooting game "3D Fortress" which has been developed using this 3D engine with server technologies is introduced for the techniques and methodology applied in the process of development of the game as well as the features and discussions of its implementation.

      • Para형 다단맥동 추출탑의 유동특성과 물질전달

        The dynamic characteristics and mass transfer effects in Para-type plate pulsed column was investigated. The axial dispersion coefficient of continuous phase was constant in the range above that continuous phase flow rate was 200ml/min, and was more influnced by amplitude than by frequency. The hold-up of continuous phase was more influnced by amplitude and saunter mean diameter was more influnced by frequency. As the experimental results of acetone extraction, the column efficiency was slightly decreased with the pulse velocity increased, but was stabilized in the range of 80~90%. The acetone concentration profiles with the change of column height at steady state more approached to the backflow model than the diffusion model.

        著者들은 家兎와 人體로부터 採取한 血淸과 諸臟器組織을 使用하여 ALPI 電氣泳動像을 觀察하고 生化學的 定量法을 利用하여 ALP의 活性度를 測定試圖하였으며 臟器特異性 沮害因子에 對한 影響을 觀察하였다. 家兎 血淸 및 諸臟器組織 ALPI電氣泳動에서 血淸은 ±의 活性度를 가진 α2와 α2/β分劃을 나타내었으며 肝組纖은 血淸보다 빠른 移動度를 가진 ??의 α_1과 α_2分劃을 나타내었다. 그리고 肝, 骨, 腎 淋巴腺, 脾臟 및 腸組織에서는 顯著하게 높은 活性度를 나타내는 各各 서로 相異한 分劃을 볼 수 있었으며 人體諸 臟器와大體로 類似하였으나 家兎 血淸의 ALP는 사람에서 와는 다르게 肝組織의 分劃과 一致하지 않고 오히려 骨組織과 더 잘 一致되는 것 같았다. ALPI 活性度에 있어서 家兎의 諸臟器는 生化學的 定量法으로 腎 ALP의 活性度가 49.5B.L. units로 다른 臟器組織에 비하여 顯著하게 높았으며, 그 다음은 脾臟, 脊椎骨, 肝, 肺淋巴腺 및 脾 順으로 높은 活性度를 나타내었으며 人體에 있어서는 胎盤, 骨, 小賜, 脾臟, 肝 및 腎臟의 順으로 높았다. 臟器 特異性 沮害因子에 對한 影響에 있어서 胎盤分劃은 特有하게 耐熱性을 나타내었고 보다 urea低抗性이며 肝分劃은 neuraminidase에 對하여 移動度의 遲延을 招來하였다. The studies upon cellulose acetate microzone electrophoretic patterns, quantitative estimation and effects of organspecific inhibitor on ALP isoenzyme of rabbit and human sera and various organ tissues were performed. On electrophoretic pattern the tissue ALP from the liver bone kidney lymph node spleen and intestine showed the characteristic fraction of high activities. The electrophoretic mobility of rabbit serum ALP was not correspond to the liver ALP as observed in human serum and it appeared to be rather corresponded to the bone ALP, which seemed to be the origin of ALP in serum of rabbit. In the quantitative measurement of tissue ALP activity the kidney ALP showed the highest level and the activity of the skeletal muscle ALP was the lowest(1.5 B. L. units), while higher activities were observable in placenta, bone, intestine, spleen, liver and kidney in order. On the effect of organ specific physico chemical agents the placental ALPI was highly stable to the heat and relatively resistant to urea while other organ ALPI were on the contrary. The neuraminidase seemed to effect to the motility of liver fraction.

      • 국소 광적응 기능을 가지는 윤곽검출용 32×32 방사형 CMOS 시각칩의 설계 및 제조

        국소 광적응 기능을 가지는 윤곽검출용 시각칩을 픽셀수 32x32의 방사형 구조로 CMOS 공정기술을 이용하여 설계 및 제조하였다. 생체의 망막은 넓은 범위의 입력 광강도에 대해서 물체의 윤곽을 검출할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 시세포, 수평세포, 쌍극세포로 이루어진 망막의 윤곽검출 기능을 모델링하여 윤곽검출용 인공시각칩을 설계하였다. 국소 광적응을 위해, 입력 광강도에 따라 수용야의 크기를 국소적으로 바뀌게 하였다. 아울러 단위셀을 방사형으로 배치함으로써 영상데이터의 양을 감소시킴과 동시에 칩의 중심부분으로 갈수록 해상도가 높아지도록 설계하였다. 설계된 칩은 0.6 ㎛ double-poly triple-metal 표준 CMOS 공정기술을 이용하여 제조되었으며. HSPICE 시뮬레이션으로 성능을 최적화 시켰다. A 32x32 pixels foveated (linear-polar) stucture retina chip with the function of local-light adaptation for edge detection has been designed and fabricated using CMOS technology. Human retina can detect a wide range of light intensity. In this study, we use the biologically-inspired visual signal processing mechanism that consists of photoreceptors, horizontal cells, and bipolar cells in order to implement the function of edge detection in the retina chip. For a local-light adaptive function, the size of receptive field is changed locally according to the input light intensity. The spatial distribution of sensing pixels in the foveated retina chip has the advantages of selective reduction of image data and good resolution in central part to carry out the elaborate image processing with still enough resolution in the outer parts. The designed chip has been fabricated using standard 0.6 ㎛ double-poly triple-metal CMOS technology and optimized using HSPICE simulator.
