      • 孔子, 佛陀, 예수, Allport의 成熟人格觀 比較硏究

金光雄 淑明女子大學校 1980 論文集 Vol.20 No.-

The question "what is the mature personality like?" has been one of the crucial subjects of psychology. But we cannot answer this question solely in terms of pure psychology. To some degree philosophical or ethical judgement must be involved. The main purpose of the present paper was to make a comparative study of the psychological characteristics of mature person proposed in Confucianism, Buddhism, Christianity, and western psychology. Confucian Analects and the Gospels were analyzed and culled to confirm the attributes of mature personality of Confucianism and Christianity. In the case of Buddhism, personality attributes of Arahat(ideal type of healthy personality in Buddhism) interpreted by Rune Johansson(1970) were arranged. And the six criteria of maturity advanced by Gordon Allport(1965) were discussed with regard to modern psychology. Result of the present study clarified considerable agreement on the norms of maturity. This common ground of agreement can be summarized as follows: moral and ethical obligation, human relations, emotional stability, cognition, self-insight, self-acceptance and achievement of meaning of life, and realization of individuality. In confucianism, however, the standard places more emphasis upon moral obligation relevant to human relations. Buddhism and Christianity put more stress on control of physical desire, compassion and kindness, righteousness, and self-insight. And in western psychology the standard lay great emphasis on individuality, on realizing one's own personal potential.

호손의 초기 단편에 나타난 집의 탐색의 의미

This paper is to elucidate the meaning of the search for home(house) in Hawthornes' early short tales. Hawthorne's view of 'home' which he used as a setting in his work, was rather pessimistic. In "The Maypole of Merry Mount", Merry-mounters tried to transplant the value of pleasure handed down from generation to generation from the Old World, but the establishment of a permanent homelife turned out to be a failure in the wilderness of New England. "The Gentle Boy" shows how difficult it is for heterogeneous groups to settle down in the wilderness near the Puritan settlement ; "Young Goodman Brown" explains the disorganization and collapse of a home built on delusion; and "Roger Malvin's Burial" shows that it is very difficult for any man, who has to live with the pang of conscience on account of his momentary misbehavior, to own a true home. In the end the house which he founded turns out to be a morally desolate one. In "My Kinsman, Major Molineux", Hawthorne looks for a house in a cultural light which needs the everlasting embrace of society. This work further dramatizes the process of Robin's maturation. In "The Gentle Boy", "Young Goodman Brown", "The Maypole of Merry Mount", "Roger Malvin's burial", and "My Kinsman, Major Molineux", Hawthorne transformed such moral burdens into the subjects of imagination and tried to diffuse them as the perfume of artistic work. The quest of houses in the wilderness and town as a setting in the early short stories mentioned above, appropriately reflects the author's artistic purpose.

        金光雄 제주대학교 1986 논문집 Vol.22 No.1

In the case of substantives,. the neutralization of obstruents in syllabic ending is formed strongly with simple word, derived word, and compound word. The rule is as follows : ◁그림 삽입▷ (원문을 참조하세요) In the case of declinable word, the neutralization of obstruents in syllabic ending shows syllabic enlagement with most words, and it is shown with few words. The nouns ending with /k^h/, /p^h/ turn into /k/, /p/ when connected with vowel ending, and the nouns ending with /t/, /cˇe/, /cˇ^h/ turn into /s/ when such phonemes come before vowel ending In the case of consonant cluster of stem ending, the second consonant is deleted when the second consonant is [+cor] , the first consonant is mostly deleted when the second consonant is [-cor]. But in the case of declinable words, syllables are enlarged with /??/ or /i/ intervened In the case of substantives ending with consonant cluster of stem ending, one consonant is deleted, and it is the same with compound words. When the ending of declinable words is simple consonant or consonant cluster, most of such words show syllabic enlargement with affixes like /??/,/u/, /i/. This phenomenon seems to effect clarity in pronunciation and meaning transmission with the emphasis on audiotory image.

        밀턴의 화합 정치

        김광선,공웅조 明知大學校 人文科學硏究所 2004 인문과학연구논총 Vol.26 No.-

Milton was revolutionary poet who tried to establish Christian humanism politically. His humanism begins and ends with republicanism based on his sincere Purritan belief. He resists any aristocratic ruler or regime and makes clear his attitude of reformation. He criticizes the arbitrariness of the Church of England and, at the same time, emphasizes human rights through his prose writings. In this regard, Milton's epics are not just literaty works but works of his ideals involving social, religious, and political aspects. This paper aims to explore Milton's Republicanism in terms of his major leterary works. Humans are placed at the core of Milton's idea of a republic. Milton's idea of 'human' does not represent restoration or establishment of new social order, but as the aim and the means of revealing God's providence. Moreover, Milton has tried to establish a republic for the freedom and human rights torough his literary works. Freedom is an essential part for all people to live in a society, where God-given human rights are guatanteed. Milton insists that freedom be for everyone. To get freedom, a citizen has to fight against the autocratic power, and the king has to make an agreement with citizens and to obey the law. Hoerver, Miton urgs people not abuse their natural rights.Insted, Milton emphasize harmony among leadership and people, bases on equality and submission to god. Milton's idea of republic is based on his belief in quality and harmony among all people. Milton asks self-sacrifice of all people and urges people live harmoniously to establish and manage a true republic. Milton, as most critics believe, is not a radical revolutionist. Rather, he is a moderate, and humance reformer who has tried to construct an idel republic. His society is one where all people live in the qual situation and with true harmony under God;s providence.

      • Young Goodman Brown의 구조와 주제

엄광웅 釜山水産大學校 1984 論文集 Vol.33 No.-

Hawthorne's Young Goodman Brown has been considered one of the most difficult and ambiguous of his works. The usual conclusion is that structurally this story is composed of a series of such scenes as in the village, into the forest, in the forest's depths, and in the village again, embodying the universality of sin and Hawthorne's suspicion about human depravity. In this story the mental sate of Goodman Brown, the hero and his strange adventure are of course associated with dream and determine its meaning as well because 'Young Goodman Brown' is a literal journey into the forest, but it is contrived so exquisitively that we can read this story as a journey into the self, into the interior world of dreams. Such an atmosphere in the story is connected with the problem of the contrast between reality and dream, and reality and dream and structured into the story and affect its meaning. Despite the general framework of the story, its virtual theme is concerned with the problem of evil which is an authentic nature of man and with the problem of its consequent result. In this story Hawthorne uses an explicit antithesis of day and night, village and forest as its balancing form and projects his theme which is the dualism of good and evil, the confused world of hero's distorted self. However, Hawthorne tries to reveal us that regeneration in this life never happens lovelessly, or faithlessly or proudly, or easily. One can only hope to emerge by means of love, ready to exercise all his human faculties in a world of humans to whom he feels united in frailty.

      • 유순한 소년 : 反目과 斷絶의 悲劇性

嚴光雄 釜山水産大學校 1981 論文集 Vol.26 No.-

Hawthornes 'The Gentle Boy, which is the longest, as well as one of the best', of his tales , is not the product of a notebook, but of a tragic imagination. Hawthorne found his theme in seventeenth-century Massachusetts, this time in no unearthly boderland, but through his intensive knowledge of the central problems confronted by the history of the colony. In creating his story from the bitter consequences of the persecution of the Quakers it is almost as though his unconscious mind was insisting on performing atonement for his ancestors' part in what he calls here the Puritans' "brutal cruelty." However, 'The Gentle Boy' stands apart from Hawthorne's other historical tales such as 'The Gray Champion', 'Endicott and the Red Cross', and 'The Maypole of Merrymount' by virtue of the largeness of its theme and the broader scope it affords for the interaction of characters. During the religious persecutions in New England a Quaker child have been left helpless among the Puritans. The six-year-old Ilbrahim, bereft of his martyred father, and abandoned by his fanatical mother, is adopted into the Puritan household of Pearson and Dorothy. But everyone is story Hawthorne employs a legitimate source of pathos - the spectacle of innocence suffering in a world of evil. In this essay I have tried to illuminate how Ilbrahim's brief and troubled life is closely the tragic theme of the story as the enmity and the discontinuity. In The Gentle Boy connected with which is composed of dramatic propriety and a summary narration in the story Hawthorne represents how Ilbrahim in search of a home, his innocent life and dreams have been destroyed by the religious fanatics and anti-human, environmental force. Through the fresh and be friends again by getting rid of evil and hatred existing in New England society depraved by prejudice and severity.

The nutritional requirements of Curvularia blight pathogens of turf (Agrostis cannina L,) causing by Curvularia geniculate were examined of various nutritional sources. The experimental results obtained summarized as follows. 1. The effects of optimum hydrogen lon concentration on the growth of this fungus in Czapek's solution medium were 6.0 and the mycelial growth was also observed in the range of pH 3.0∼9.0 2. The effects of optimum temperature on the growth of the fungus in Czapek's solution medium was 25-30℃. 3. In the effects of carbon sources on the growth of this fungus, sucrose showed the best result, and followed glucose, soluble starch, and xylose. Polyalcohol and organic acid as carbon sources affect the growth of this fungus only slightly. 4. In the effects of nitrogen sources on the growth of this fungus, ammonium nitrate and ammonium citrate affect the best results, and followed ammonium phosphate, ammonium oxalate, ammonium tartrate, and potassium nitrate. Ammonium nitrite affect the growth of this fungus only slightly. In generally, NH_4-N and NO_3-N showed the best results, whereas NO_2-N was less effective in all the nitrogens. 5. The effects of various chemicals in the formation of inhibition zone were larger in Dexon and Thiram 75, and followed PTM-V, Difolatan and Thiuramin, whereas Bla-s was not effective.
