A New Sesquiterpene and Other Terpenoid Constituents of Chisocheton penduliflorus
Phongmaykin, Jarinporn,Kumamoto, Takuya,Ishikawa, Tsutomu,Suttisri, Rutt,Saifah, Ekarin 대한약학회 2008 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.31 No.1
A new aromadendrane sesquiterpene, allo-aromadendrane-10${\alpha}$, 14-diol (3), was isolated from Chisocheton penduliflorus (Meliaceae), along with two known sesquiterpenes: allo-aromadendrane-10${\beta}$, 13, 14-triol (7). Six dammarane triterpenoids, including cabraleadiol (1), eichlerialactone (4), cabraleahydroxylactone (5), cabralealactone (6), hollongdione (8) and dammaradienone (9), the coumarins scoparone and scopoletin, and vanillic acid were also isolated from the wood and leaves of this plant. Compounds 1-7 displayed antimycobacterial activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Compounds 1, 4, 5 and 6 were weakly cytotoxic to a breast cancer (BC) cell line; whereas, compound 6 was moderately active against a small-cell lung cancer (NCI-H187) cell line.
Study of the planarian phototaxis during brain regeneration
Inoue, Takeshi,Kumamoto, Hiroshi,Cebria, Frances,Kobayashi, Chiyoko,Agata, Kiyokazu Korean Society of Photoscience 2002 Journal of Photosciences Vol.9 No.2
Planarians show negative phototaxis and have extensive regenerative ability, including the ability to regenerate the brain. Recently the process of regeneration of the planarian brain has been divided into three steps based on the expression of neural markers. In this study, we have analyzed the process of recovery of the light response during head regeneration. Although morphological observations indicated that regeneration of the eyes and optic nerves appeared to be completed by the fourth day, the recovery of the evasion behavior against light was not recovered within 4 days after amputation. Functional recovery of the evasion behavior could be detected starting 5 days after amputation and then gradually recovered. We previously identified genes which are specifically expressed in the brain after the recovery of morphological structures. This characteristic suggested that these genes may be involved in functional recovery of the brain. To investigate the function of these genes, we performed gene knockout analysis using the RNA interference method. The results clearly indicated that these genes are involved in the functional recovery of the visual system.
Extraction of Water-Soluble Porphyrin and Metalloporphyrins into Acetonitrile by Salting-out
Tabata, Masaaki,Kumamoto, Midori 한국분석과학회 1995 분석과학 Vol.8 No.4
A cationic water soluble porphyrin (5,10,15,20-tetrakis (l-methyl-pyridinium-4-yl)porphyrin, $H_2tmpyp^{4+}$) and its metalloporphyrins (MP) were easily extracted into acetonitrile separated by addition of sodium chloride ($4mol\;dm^{-3}$) in the presence of sodium perchlorate, where M denotes $Zn^{2+}$, $Cu^{2+}$, $Co^{3+}$, $Fe^{3+}$, and $Mn^{3+}$ and $P^{2-}$ is porphyrinate ion. The extracted ion-pair complexes were completely dissociated to $[MP(ClO_4)_3]^+$, and $[MP(ClO_4)_2]^{2+}$. The extraction and the dissociation constants were determined by taking into account of the partition constant of sodium perchlorate ($K_D=1.82{\pm}0.01$). The chemical properties of the separated acetonitrile phase as $E_{T(30)}$ and $D_{II,I}$ were determined and compared with other water miscible solvents (acetone, actonitrile, 1,4-dioxane, tetrahydrofuran, 1-propanol and 2-propanol). Furthermore, a sensitive and selective method was proposed for the determination of a subnanogram amount of copper(II) in natural water samples by using the present salting-out method and the porphyrins.

The Utilization of Social Networking Service and Japanese Manga in Strategic User Generated Design
Anak Agung Gede Dharma,Hiroyuki Kumamoto,Shogo Kochi,Natsuki Kudo,Guowei Wei,Shu Chuan Chiu,Kiyoshi Tomimatsu 한국멀티미디어학회 2011 한국멀티미디어학회 국제학술대회 Vol.2011 No.-
In this research, we propose an online service which utilizes Social Networking Service (SNS) as the medium and Japanese cartoon (manga) as the communication method. The growth of SNS has created a new potential in marketing. While users communicate and interact via SNS, the list of their conversation which is called casual data can be used to determine their needs or aspirations. SNS can be very useful for product/service developers, especially when developing new ideas or simply evaluating the feasibility of their existing products/services. Furthermore, SNS provides a unique system that enables expressive and two-way communication between its users. Although several online services that utilize SNS and casual data have been provided, the purpose of those services is still unclear and ineffective. To solve those problems we propose an innovative way of utilizing SNS and casual data in designing consumer generated design. In our proposed system, users can directly contribute to the product/service development process in an interesting way. We designed an online service which allows users to posts manga that describes their original idea. While contributing to the product/service development, they can also benefit from expressing their hobbies and receiving feedbacks from other users.
