This paper is intended to study 〈Jumong Myth〉 which's written by many writers newly. It seems to me that there are characters which are represented images of Jumong and Yoohwa in 〈Jumong Myth〉 in their works. First of all, it seems that they showed aspects of Jumong or Yoohwa as the Hero of the founder or the Hero's supporter of wisdom in their poems 『Dongmaeng』 and 『The Four Pillars and Eight Characters of Go, Ju-mong as the founder of Goguryeo Dongmyeongsungwang』by Seo, Jeong-ju, 『Lady Yoohwa』by Song Su-kwon and 『The sky of Jumong』 by Yoon Keum-cho. Only Seo‘s characters are expressed a destiny and a right but Song and Yoon's are represented the Hero itself in the narrative process through agony of realities. The secondly, it seems that Lee, Kwang-su showed aspects of Jumong as a so n?a husband?a father through the life of the Hero in his work 『Dongmyeongwang of love』. And Song Ha-chun showed aspects of Yoohwa in 〈Jumong Myth〉 through a woman as a unusual birth of process and preservation of life in his work 『Daughters of Haback』. In conclusion, it seems that their works either poems or novels are represented and recreated various images of Jumong and Yoohwa in 〈Jumong Myth〉.

Protective Effect of Curcumin and Aqueous Extract of Onchengyeum on CCl_(4)-induced Hepatotoxicity

An aqueous extract of oriental herbal composition named Onchengyeum and curcumin, an antioxidant isolated from turmeric (Curcuma longa Linné) reduced hepatotoxicity induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl_(4)). Improved liver function was observed by measuring the activities of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine (CRE), total cholesterol (TCHO), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-CHO), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-CHO), total protein (TP), albumin (ALB) and total bilirubin (BIL) in serum. Hepatic parameters monitored were levels of cholesterol (CHO), triglyceride (TG), malondialdehyde (MDA) and content of cytochrome P450 (CYP), level of glutathione (GSH), activities of NADPH-CYP reductase, superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione S-transferase (GST), glutathione reductase (GR), glutathione peroxidase (GPx). The histopathological examination showed that the treatment of Onchengyeum and curcumin relieved the ballooning degeneration of hepatocytes which had been generated by CCl_(4). The results suggested that hepatoprotective effects of Onchengyeum and curcumin possibly are due to their promising antioxidative activity.

Iridology, developed more than 100 years ago, is the diagnosis of medical conditions through noting irregularities of the pigmentation in the iris The purpose of this study is to compare interrelation between CVA, hypertension family history and cardio-renal connective tissue in Iris Constitution through iris constitution examination. The subjects consist of 114 patients who were examined in Iris Constitution at Chonju Oriental Medicine Hospital attached to Wonkwang Univ. from September. 1St. 2000 to August. 31th. 2002. 1. In the distribution of Iris Constitution, among of 79cases, There are neurogenic type 13cases, abdominal connective tissue weakness constitution 31 cases, cardio-renal connective tissue weakness constitution 6 cases, cholesterol 7 cases and others 22 case in control group. 2. There are familial history of CVA and hypertention 32 cases, no familial history of CVA and hypertention1 3 cases, in 35cases of experimental group. These results imply that there is meaningfulness of interrelation between cardio-renal connective tissue weakness constitution and. CVA, hypertention.

만성질환자의 강인성에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study was to provide firsthand descriptions of human experience, represents phenomenological data of singular, subjective, lived experience of hardiness. The subjects of this study were 9 patients suffering from chronic disease. And they were asked for their agreement on the purpose of this study and open-end questions in order for them to talk about their experiences. Phenomenology as described by Colaizzi was used for the phenomenological analysis of the data. After transcribed the recorded data, the researcher read the data repeatedly to identify significant statements, and restated the significant statements, and then formulated the meanings, themes, theme clusters, and categories. The formulated meanings integrated into 5 categories : control, commitment, coping, consideration, and appreciation. An exhaustive description of hardiness deduced from this study as follows; Patients with hardiness control the way of life and health care, commit themselves to the maintenance of enthusiastic life style and good health, cope with their disease, consider the position of their family and other patients, and thank the Absolute and neighbors for their help. The result of this study may help nurse to implement more efficient nursing stragegies for patients with chronic disease.

치근단병소에 관한 방사선학적 연구

The author studied the age distribution, ethology, affected site and several radiographic features of periapical granulomas, cysts, and abscesses. The material consisted of 928 films obtained from the patients who were diagnosed and treated under the diagnosis of periapical granulomas, cysts, and abscesses during the past 8 years (1979-1986) at the Infirmary of Dental School, Chosun University. The obtained results were as follows: 1. The order of incidence was as follows: periapical abscess (67.2%), granuloma, and cyst. 2. The age distribution revealed the highest incidence around the age of 30 and relatively higher incidence over the age of 60 in the case of periapical abscess and granuloma. 3. In the frequency of location: Periapical abscesses occurred most frequently in the mandibular molars. Granulomas showed relatively higher incidence in maxilla than in mandible. Cysts were most common in the maxillary anterior teeth. 4. The mean diameter of dental granuloma was 5.9mm, however, all dental granulomas were less than 9.3mm in diameter. The mean diameter of periapical cyst was 13.8mm. 5. Periapical cyst revealed well circumstance radiolucent lesions and 77.8% of the lesion showed white line. 86.0% of dental granuloma showed well circumscribed border, 54.5% sclerosis on surrounding bone and 38.5% partial white line. Periapical abscess revealed diffuse radiolucent lesion, 89.6% of the lesions had sclerosis on surrounding bone, and 38.0% sinus tract.

대학평가인정제의 역사적 발전과정 고찰

19세기 말 태동하기 시작하여 20세기 초 본격적으로 실시된 대학평가인정제는 고등교육기관이나 고등교육기관내의 특정 교육프로그램의 성취수준과 질적 수준이 평가인정기관에 의해서 설정되어 있는 일정 기준, 요구조건, 자격에 도달하였는가를 평가하여 공인하는 과정이다. 본 연구는 현재 우리나라에서 실시되고 있는 대학평가인정제의 문제점에 대한 해결책을 탐색할 목적으로 미국 대학평가인정제도의 발전과정을 고찰하고자 하였다. 미국의 대학평가인정제는 평가를 통하여 고등교육의 질적인 향상과 대학의 사회적 책무성을 증진시키는 지속적인 과정으로 인식되고 있으나, 최근 들어 이 제도가 교육의 질을 보장하기에 충분한가에 대한 논쟁이 일고 있으며, 대학평가인정제에서 제기되고 있는 문제들에 대해 사회적 비판을 받고 있다. 대학평가인정제가 더욱 발전되기 위해서는 대학평가인정제는 자치적이고 자율적 평가주체에 의해 이루어져야 하며, 타당성있는 평가기준이 개발되어야 하고, 서면평가와 현지방문평가 및 평가과정에 교수와 전문가 및 현장의 경험자들이 공동으로 참여하여야 하며, 평가결과는 대학의 질을 상징해 주는 평가모형으로 발전하여야 할 것이다. This study was performed to consider a development process of the accreditation. Accreditation is a process of external quality review used by higher education to scrutinize colleges, universities and educational programs for quality assurance and quality improvement. In the US, accreditation is carried out by private, nonprofit organizations designed for this specific purpose. Accreditation is based on American a few climate and tradition, and it has been developed. Accreditation is containing various problems. However, accreditation has performed large role in raising and improvement of american high education. There is the argument that accreditation is ensuring enough quality of education recently. This problem is for it to be applied to a Korean academic evaluation. In order to solve this problems, accreditation must be performed by private, nonprofit organization. Also, an evaluation standard to cover relevance must be developed. A professor and a specialist and field experienced persons must participate jointly in it and an on-site visit evaluation and an evaluation process. The evaluation result must stand for academic quality.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the syntactic phenomena of existential there-sentences and list there-sentences within the minimalist framework. We argue that list there-sentences must be distinguished from existential there-sentence has the accusative Case feature while the existential verb be does not. So, a postverbal pronoum bearing accusative Case in a list there-sentence is checked off its Case feature by the verb be. Second, the expletive there in an existential there-sentence bears the [-Definite] feature but the there in a list there-sentence does not bear any feature relevant to definiteness. This assumption while only an indefinite postverbal noun phrase is allowed in existential there-sentences. Finally, the number agreement phenomenon appearing in list there-sentences is accounted for by assuming that the ellipsis of there and be occurs in list there-sentences.
