Cryogenic propellants are used to produce thrust in numbers of liquid rocket engines. The combustion chamber of the liquid rocket engines are at supercritical environment to the cryogenic propellants. So the phase of cryogenic propellants are changed from subcritical phase to supercritical phase while the propellants are injected to the combustion chamber. So it is necessary to study about the supercritical jet spray, but the study about the supercritical jet spray are still insufficient. For subcritical and super/near-critical jet tests, experimental system with zero-recess shear coaxial injector was constructed. LN2 and argon were selected for stimulants, shadowgraph method was used for jet visualization and the dark core length was used to discuss the experiment result. The dark core length was measured from post-processed instantaneous images. Image histogram was used to get rid of the pixel of background and injector tip, and the remains are the region of the dark core. The dark core length means the distance between injector and the first break of the jet. The dark core length of each case were averaged from over 50 instantaneous images. Because of the narrowness of the visualization area, the dark core length in the subcritical case was not observed/visualized. The measured dark core length in supercritical/near-critical cases were compared with momentum flux ratio and density ratio. The equations between the dark core length and momentum flux ratio as suggested from previous work was analysed, and the results were found in accord with the previous work.

Sub/supercritical spray experiments were conducted, and cryogenic nitrogen and gaseous argon were selected for simulants. Liquid nitrogen and gaseous argon were injected in subcritical case, and supercritical nitrogen and near-critical gaseous argon were injected in near-critical/supercritical cases. shadowgraph method was used to visualize spray, and analyzed about the breakup length. The breakup length was measured from numbers of Instantaneous shadowgraph Images from each case, and they were compared with momentum flux ratios and density ratios. It was observed that the relation between breakup length and momentum flux ratio was fitted into former experiment results. and the reasonable constant was suggested about the relation between breakup length and density ratio

Biological control has been tried for integrated pest management. It is often comparable, safe, and environment-friendly, making itself an alternative for chemical agents. Filamentous microorganisms, i.e., fungi and streptomystes, produce many kinds of useful metabolites, and some of them have been developed as a biocontrol agent. However, they still have a long way because of the concern of manufacturing cost. Therefore, process development was intensively studied to meet cost-effectiveness. Operating conditions of bioreactor, e.g., agitation and aeration, had an effect on biological and physiological responses such as mycelial morphology, oxygen and nutrient transfer. Understanding relationship between operating parameters and microbial responses in terms of growth, substrate and oxygen consumption, and production yield was critical for process development. This study dedicated to build strategies for mass production of biological control agent using aerobic filamentous microorganisms.
