Ahuja, Om,Cetinkaya, Asena,Kahramaner, Yasemin Department of Mathematics 2019 Kyungpook mathematical journal Vol.59 No.2
Using the concept of bounded boundary rotation, we investigate various properties of two new generalized classes of spirallike and Robertson functions of complex order with bounded boundary rotations.
Investigating the effect of strength on the LCPC abrasivity of igneous rocks
Kahraman, Sair,Fener, Mustafa,Kasling, Heiko,Thuro, Kurosch Techno-Press 2018 Geomechanics & engineering Vol.15 No.2
The abrasivity of rocks results in tool wear in rock excavation or drilling projects. It can affect significantly the cost and schedule of the projects performed in abrasive rock massess. For this reason, the understanding of the mechanism of rock abrasivity is very important for excavation projects. This study investigates the effect of strength on the LCPC abrasivity coefficient (LAC) for igneous rocks. The LCPT test, the uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) and the Brazilian tensile strength (BTS) tests were carried out on the igneous rock samples. The abrasive mineral content (AMC) was also determined for each rock type. First, the LAC was correlated to the AMC and a very good correlation was found between the two parameters. Then, the multiple regression analysis was carried out by including the AMC, UCS and BTS to the analysis in order to infer the effect of the strength on the LAC. It was seen that the correlation coefficients of multiple regression models were greater than that of the relation between the LAC and the AMC. It is concluded that the AMC is the dominant parameter determining the abrasivity of rock. On the other hand, the rock strength has also significant effect on rock abrasivity.

Ferdag Kahraman Aksoyak,Yusuf Yayli 대한수학회 2014 대한수학회보 Vol.51 No.6
In this paper, we study spacelike rotational surfaces which are called boost invariant surfaces in Minkowski 4-space E41 . We give necessary and sufficient condition for flat spacelike rotational surface to have pointwise 1-type Gauss map. Also, we obtain a characterization for boost invariant marginally trapped surface with pointwise 1-type Gauss map.
Production of methionine γ-Lyase in recombinant Citrobacter freundii bearing the hemoglobin gene
( Huseyin Kahraman ),( Emel Aytan ),( Asli Giray Kurt ) 생화학분자생물학회(구 한국생화학분자생물학회) 2011 BMB Reports Vol.44 No.9
The production of antileukemic enzyme methionine γ-lyase (MGL) in distinctly related bacteria, Citrobacter freundii and in their recombinants expressing the Vitresocilla hemoglobin (VHb) has been studied. This study concerns the potential of Citrobacter freundii expressing the Vitreoscilla hemoglobin gene (vgb) for the methionine γ-liyase production. Methionine γ-liyase production by Citrobacter freundii and its vgb? and vgb+ bearing recombinant strain was studied in shake-flasks under 200 rpm agitation, culture medium and 30oC in a time-course manner. The vgb+ and especially the carbon type had a dramatic effect on methionine γ-liyase production. The vgb+ strain of C. freundii had about 2-fold and 3.1-fold higher levels of MGL than the host and vgb? strain, respectively. [BMB reports 2011; 44(9): 590-594]

This study was carried out to determine the effects of adding pistachio shell (PIS), pomegranate hull (POM), and olive pulp (OP) to the diet on milk amino acid and fatty acid parameters in Awassi sheep. In the study, 40 head of Awassi sheep, which gave birth at least twice, were used as animal material. Sheep were fed a control diet without added byproducts (CON), rations containing PIS, POM, and OP. Milk amino acid profile was determined by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry, milk fatty acid gas chromatography-flame ionization detection device. There was a dramatic reduction in alanine, citrulline, glutamine, glutamic acid, glycine, leucine, ornithine and alphaaminoadipic acid in the research groups. In the PIS group, argininosuccinic acid, gammaminobutyric acid, beta-alanine and sarcosine; In the POM group, asparagine, gammaminobutyric acid, beta-alanine, and taurine; In the OP group, a significant positive increase was found in terms of alanine, histidine, gammaminobutyric acid, and taurine amino acids. The applications in the study did not have a statistically significant effect on the ratio of short, medium and long chain fatty acids in milk (p>0.05). In the presented study, it was determined that PIS, POM, and OP, which were added to the sheep rations at a rate of 5%, caused significant changes in the milk amino acid profiles. In this change in milk amino acid profiles, the benefit-harm relationship should be considered.
FLAT ROTATIONAL SURFACES WITH POINTWISE 1-TYPE GAUSS MAP IN E4
( Ferdag Kahraman Aksoyak ),( Yusuf Yayli ) 호남수학회 2016 호남수학학술지 Vol.38 No.2
In this paper we study general rotational surfaces in the 4- dimensional Euclidean space E4 and give a characterization of fiat general rotational surface with pointwise 1-type Gauss map. Also, we show that a flat general rotational surface with pointwise 1-type Gauss map is a Lie group if and only if it is a Clifford torus.
Fruit Quality Attributes of Blackberry (Rubus sanctus) Mutants Obtained by ^(60)Co Gamma Irradiation
Pervin Basaran,Kahraman Kepenek 한국생물공학회 2011 Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering Vol.16 No.3
Blackberry mutants were induced by the irradiation of blackberry shoots with 5 kilo radians of cobalt (^(60)Co) gamma irradiation. Seven mutant plants demonstrating improved plant growth properties were selected for evaluation of the fruit quality characteristics, such as size, shape, color, firmness, soluble solids content, juice acidity, nutritive value (e.g. ascorbic acid) and overall fruit flavor. The organoleptic properties, including texture, firmness, flavor, sweetness, acidity, color, and overall fruit flavor, were evaluated by a consumer panel. The results indicated that irradiation induced changes in some of the quality parameters of blackberry fruits, as well as increased the fruit shelf-life.
MANNHEIM PARTNER P-TRAJECTORIES IN THE EUCLIDEAN 3-SPACE E3
Zehra Isbilir,Kahraman Esen Ozen,Murat Tosun 호남수학회 2022 호남수학학술지 Vol.44 No.3
Mannheim introduced the concept of a pair of curves, called as Mannheim partner curves, in 1878. Until now, Mannheim partner curves have been studied widely in the literature. In this study, we take into account of this concept according to Positional Adapted Frame (PAF) for the particles moving in the 3-dimensional Euclidean space. We introduce a new type special trajectory pairs which are called Mannheim partner P-trajectories in the Euclidean 3-space. The relationships between the PAF elements of this pair are investigated. Also, the relations between the Serret-Frenet basis vectors of Mannheim partner P-trajectories are given. Afterwards, we obtain the necessary conditions for one of these trajectories to be an osculating curve and for other to be a rectifying curve. Moreover, we provide an example including an illustrative figure.

Bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), a member of the transmissible spongiform encepahlopathies, has been a notifiable disease in Turkey since 1997. In 2002, the BSE status of Turkey was assessed by the EU Scientific Steering Committee as “it is likely but not confirmed”.This study presents the results of a targeted surveillance study to assess the presence of BSE in the age risk population of Bursa, Turkey. In the assessment procedure, the immunohistochemical detection of protease-resistant prion protein (PrP-Sc) was aimed at and applied to 420 brain tissues of cattle slaughtered in Bursa at an age of 30-months and older. None of the samples were positive for BSE.
