We have synthesized a series of push-pull porphyrins containing both donor and acceptor substituents at the mesopositions and have examined their spectral and biological properties. The push-pull porphyrins containing both strong donor NH2 and acceptor NO2 at meso-positions, in which donor group condensed with the ligand, (2,6-bis(4-methylpiperazine-1-yl-methyl)-4-formlyphenol (L) to form imine linkages with porphyrin. The Schiff base ligand 5-[4-(2,6-bis(4-methylpiperazine-1-yl-methyl)-4-iminomethylphenol)phenyl]-10,15,20-tris(4-nitrophenyl) porphyrin [an3(TPP)L] can be synthesized from 2,6-bis(4-methylpiperazine-1-yl-methyl)-4-formylphenol (L) and 5-(4-aminophenyl)-10, 15,20-tris(4-nitrophenyl)porphyrin. The push-pull porphyrin [an3(TPP)L] was metallated to get copper, nickel and zinc complexes. The spectral, electrochemical, antibacterial, antifungal and cytotoxicity properties of all the donor- acceptor push-pull porphyrins and their complexes were characterized and studied.

Lipid oxidation, colour stability and physico-chemical quality of pork frankfurters with the incorporation of 0.30% sea buckthorn (SBT), 0.10% grape seed (GSE), 0.03% green tea (GTE), 0.12% fenugreek seed (FSE) and 0.10% Acacia catechu (ACE) were studied during 20 days of refrigerated aerobic storage. The SBT and ACE were identified as being the most effective antioxidants to retard lipid oxidation with the potency decreasing in the following order: SBT>ACE>GSE>GTE>FSE based on thiobarbituric acid reacting substances, peroxide value and free fatty acids. In all samples pH and aw decreased during storage period. The L* value of treated as well as control samples decreased over time while SBT and ACE exhibited an increased redness producing higher a* values than other treatments. However, GTE was more effective in increasing b* values than other treatments at the end of storage. The results suggest that functional plant-derived extracts can be valuable to the modification of frankfurter formulations for improved oxidative stability as well as quality characteristics.
Effect of Geometrical Parameters on the Performance of Linear Motor for a Stirling Cooler
V. R. Rajesh,T. K. Biju 대한설비공학회 2017 International Journal Of Air-Conditioning and Refr Vol.25 No.4
Stirling coolers are becoming more popular in the area of remote sensing and space applications because of their inherent characteristics, viz., long life, high reliability, less weight, etc. In order to have a good onboard performance, the selection of the compressor drive system is crucial. The current development is to replace the conventional crank-driven compressor with a linear motor-driven compressor. Linear motors are simple devices in which axial forces are generated by current flowing in a magnetic field. This paper explores the possibility of employing various combinations of components and their materials for the design of linear drive system. The analysis includes material selection, electromagnetic design and comparison of different configurations in order to meet the stringent operating requirements of the cooler. The compactness of the Stirling cooler is influenced by the available permanent magnet dimensions, the coil winding and the shape of the outer core. Various material combinations were simulated and compared before finalizing the motor geometry. The effect of an increase in magnet height on the flux density of the air gap was studied and the magnetic saturation levels of the inner and outer core were analyzed. The influence of radial air gap on the thrust force was compared for the different configurations. The present study helps in choosing a linear motor with appropriate materials and geometry in the development of a Stirling cooler.

Weather forecasting is the task of determining future state of the atmosphere. To predict the future’s weather condition, the variation in the conditions in past years must be utilized. The probability that the weather condition of the day in consideration will match the same day in previous year is very less. But the probability that it will match within the span of adjacent sixty days of previous year is very high. A Sliding window algorithm is emerging as a leading methodology for the application of weather prediction. So, the prediction is made based on sliding window algorithm. So, sixty days are considered for previous year a sliding window is selected of size equivalent to fifteen days. Every thirty days of sliding window is then matched with that of current year’s thirty days in consideration. The best matched window is made to participate in the process of predicting weather conditions. The month wise results are being computed for four months to check the accuracy. The experimental results demonstrate that the applied technique gives better predicted weather conditions are quite efficient with an average accuracy of 94.21%.

In this article, we delve into the reliability of various oxide/4H-SiC interfaces when exposed to elevated temperatures and carrier-trapping conditions. Our investigation primarily centers around the impact of diff erent gate dielectric materials on the electrical characteristics of a low breakdown 4H-SiC-based MOSFET. The gate dielectrics under scrutiny include SiO2, Si3N4, AlN, Al2O3, Y2O3, and HfO2. We fi nd that the choice of gate oxide material signifi cantly infl uences the transistor’s performance, with gate oxides possessing higher relative permittivity notably enhancing its characteristics. Among the materials studied, HfO2 emerges as the most promising candidate, demonstrating superior immunity behaviors in the MOSFET. However, the use of HfO2 is associated with increased gate leakage current. To mitigate this drawback, we introduce a thin interfacial layer (2 nm-thick) in the HfO2/4H-SiC MOS structure. Interestingly, two alternative gate stacked dielectrics, involving either SiO2 or Al2O3, prove effective in preserving the transistor’s on-state performance metrics while limiting gate leakage current across the entire range of gate voltages examined. To validate the predictive capabilities of our modeling analysis, we compare our simulation results with experimental data from the literature, and we observe a favorable agreement. This research holds particular signifi cance in applications employing low-power MOSFETs, where reliability and durability are as critical as performance. For instance, in the context of power optimizers for photovoltaic modules, which fall under the category of low-load and low-voltage DC–DC converters, these devices play a pivotal role in enhancing energy generationunder challenging environmental conditions while ensuring long-term reliability.

Neurocysticercosis is the commonest parasitic disease of the human central nervous system. The incidence of intra ventricular form of neurocysticercosis (NCC) is less common accounting 10-20% that of total central nerve system cysticercosis. Intra ventricular NCC is complicated due, to its high incidence of acute hydrocephalus caused by ball valve mechanism. The only reliable tool for diagnosis of NCC is by neuroimaging with CT or MRI. MRI preferred over CT because of its high specificity and sensitivity. In emergency situations like acute hydrocephalus one can proceed with emergency endoscopic surgery. Through the endoscopic view, intra ventricular NCC (IVNCC) has distinguished morphological features like the full moon sign. This feature not only helps in identification of IVNCC, but also guides in further endoscopic treatment strategy. Authors report two cases of 3rd ventricular NCC with acute hydrocephalus managed with emergency endoscopy. Authors have discussed the clinical features, intra operative endoscopic findings and role of endoscopy in emergency surgery for NCC with acute hydrocephalus.
