INEQUALITIES FOR STAR DUALS OF INTERSECTION BODIES
Jun, Yuan,Huawei, Zhu,Gangsong, Leng Korean Mathematical Society 2007 대한수학회지 Vol.44 No.2
In this paper, we present a new kind of duality between intersection bodies and projection bodies. Furthermore, we establish some counterparts of dual Brunn-Minkowski inequalities for intersection bodies.

Jun, Yuan,Shufeng Yuan,Gangsong Leng Korean Mathematical Society 2006 대한수학회지 Vol.43 No.3
In this paper, we study the properties of the dual harmonic quermassintegrals systematically and establish some inequalities for the dual harmonic quermassintegrals, such as the Minkowski inequality, the Brunn-Minkowski inequality, the Blaschke-Santalo inequality and the Bieberbach inequality.

Porcine alveolar macrophages (PAMs) represent the first line of defense in the porcine lung after infection with porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) via the respiratory tract. However, PCV2 infection impairs the microbicidal capability of PAMs and alters cytokine production and/or secretion. At present, the reason for the imbalance of cytokines has not been fully elucidated, and the regulatory mechanisms involved are unclear. In this study, we investigated the expression levels and regulation of interleukin-1beta (IL-1b) and IL-10 in PAMs following incubation with PCV2 in vitro. Levels of IL-1b and IL-10 increased in PAM supernatants, and the distribution of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kB) p65 staining in nucleus, expression of MyD88 and p-IkB in cytoplasm, and DNA-binding activity of NF-kB increased after incubation with PCV2, while p65 expression in PAM cytoplasm decreased. However, when PAMs were co-incubated with PCV2 and small interfering RNA targeting MyD88, those effects were reversed. Additionally, mRNA expression levels of Toll-like receptors (TLR)-2, -3, -4, -7, -8, and -9 increased when PAMs were incubated with PCV2. These results show that PCV2 induces increased IL-1b and IL-10 production in PAMs, and these changes in expression are related to the TLR–MyD88–NF-kB signaling pathway.
STABILITY OF A TWO-STRAIN EPIDEMIC MODEL WITH AN AGE STRUCTURE AND MUTATION
Xiaoyan Wang,Junyuan Yang,Fengqin Zhang 한국전산응용수학회 2012 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.30 No.1
A two-strain epidemic model with an age structure mutation and varying population is studied. By means of the spectrum theory of bounded linear operator in functional analysis, the reproductive numbers according to the strains, which associates with the growth rate $\lamda^*$ of total population size are obtained. The asymptotic stability of the steady states are obtained under some sufficient conditions.

The high penetration of distributed generation (DG) sources in distribution networks (DN) can induce overvoltage issues. In this paper, an artifi cial intelligence based fair and optimal method for voltage regulation in DN with high photovoltaic (PV) penetration is proposed. Based on the forecasting of solar radiance and load profi les, the method optimally dispatches the generation of PVs to prevent overvoltage with the objective of minimizing the energy curtailment of PVs for a given long period. In addition, the RPCM can adaptively adjust the curtailment of PVs based on fuzzy neural network algorithm so that the PV systems in the DN could reach and keep similar accumulated curtailments during the period. Steady state simulation studies under various scenarios have been carried out on a 69-bus distribution feeder and an actual distribution network to demonstrate the eff ectiveness of the proposed method.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) genome P-encoded protein HBV DNA polymerase (Pol) has long been known as a reverse transcriptase during HBV replication. In this study, we investigated the impact of HBV Pol on host cellular processes, mainly apoptosis, and the underlying mechanisms. We showed a marked reduction in apoptotic rates in the HBV Pol-expressed HepG2 cells compared to controls. Moreover, a series of assays, i.e., yeast two-hybrid, GST pull-down, co-immunoprecipitation, and confocal laser scanning microscopy, identified the host factor eEF1A2 to be associated with HBV Pol. Furthermore, knockdown of eEF1A2 gene by siRNA abrogated the HBV Pol-mediated anti-apoptotic effect with apoptosis induced by endoplasmatic reticulum (ER) stress-inducer thapsigargin (TG), thus suggesting that the host factor eEF1A2 is essential for HBV Pol’s anti-apoptosis properties. Our findings have revealed a novel role for HBV Pol in its modulation of apoptosis through integrating with eEF1A2.

Zhou Chen,Jine Wang,Junyuan Ma,Shuyuan Li,Shengdong Huo,Yanmei Yang,Yingpai Zhaxi,Yongqing Zhao,Derong Zhang 대한수의학회 2022 Journal of Veterinary Science Vol.23 No.1
Background: Domestic yaks are the most important livestock species on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. Adult female yaks normally breed in the warm season (July to September) and enter anestrous in the cold season (November to April). Nevertheless, it is unclear how ovarian activity is regulated at the molecular level. Objectives: The peculiarities of yak reproduction were assessed to explore the molecular mechanism of postpartum anestrus ovaries in yaks after pregnancy and parturition. Methods: Sixty female yaks with calves were observed under natural grazing in Haiyan County, Qinghai Province. Three yak ovaries in pregnancy and postpartum anestrus were collected. RNA sequencing and quantitative proteomics were employed to analyze the pregnancy and postpartum ovaries after hypothermia to identify the genes and proteins related to the postpartum ovarian cycle. Results: The results revealed 841 differentially expressed genes during the postpartum hypoestrus cycle; 347 were up-regulated and 494 genes were down-regulated. Fifty-seven differential proteins were screened: 38 were up-regulated and 19 were down-regulated. The differential genes and proteins were related to the yak reproduction process, rhythm process, progesterone-mediated oocyte maturation, PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, and MAPK signaling pathway categories. Conclusions: Transcriptome and proteomic sequencing approaches were used to investigate postpartum anestrus and pregnancy ovaries in yaks. The results confirmed that BHLHE40, SF1IX1, FBPX1, HSPCA, LHCGR, BMP15, and ET-1R could affect postpartum hypoestrus and control the state of estrus.
