        Antispasmodic Effects of Junsibaekchul-San In Vivo and In vitro

        In Vivo and In vitro antispasmodic effects of Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San, a Traditional Korean Polyherbal Medicineconsisted of 7 types of herbs were observed in the present study. To clarify the effects of Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San, on accelerating small intestinal movement induced by the stimulation of cholinergic neurotransmission, we evaluated the effects of Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San on In vivo carbachol (an acetylcholinergic agent)-accelerated mice small intestinal transit and on In vitro contractions induced by low-frequency electrostimulation, KCl, histamine or acetylcholine using isolated guinea pig ileum. To induce the acceleration of mice small intestinal transit, Carbachol 1 mg/kg was once subcutaneously dosed 15min before last administration of the test drugs. In the present study, Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San 500, 250 and 125 mg/kg or domperidone 20 mg/kg were orally pretreated on the carbachol-accelerated mice small intestinal transit once a day for 7 days and the small intestinal transit rateof activated charcoal powder were monitored. In vitro assays, Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San1, 0.1, 0.01 and 0.001 mg/ml or domperidone $2{\times}10^{-5}M$ were treated 10min before ileal contraction was induced by filed stimulation, acetylcholine, KCl and histamine, and the % changes of contractions were observed compared to the treatment of inducer alone. In spontaneous contraction, the % changes of contractions were observed compared to treatment of vehicle alone at 10min after Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San or domperidone treatment. The efficacy of Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San was compared to those of domperidone. High concentration, 1 mg/ml of Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San was found to decrease the spontaneous contraction of the isolated guinea-pig ileum. In addition, Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San decrease contractions induced by electrostimulation, acetylcholine, histamine and KCl in the isolated guinea-pig ileum. In addition, Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San effectively inhibited the accelerated small intestinal movement induced by carbachol stimulation of cholinergic neurotransmission in In vivo. Based on the results, although the exact molecular or action mechanism and which herbs or compound in Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San are responsible for actions, it was concluded that Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San normalization in the accelerated intestinal motility might be interfere with a variety of muscarinic, adrenergic and histaminic receptor activities or with the mobilization of calcium ions required for smooth muscle contraction non-specificly. Therefore, it is expected that Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San will be promising as a prescription of clinical treatment of digestive tract disorders such as accelerated the motility of intestine, diarrhea or intestinal painful contractions.

        Possible Involvement of Photoperiodic Regulation in Reproductive Endocrine System of Female Olive Flounder Paralichthys olivaceus

        This study investigated possible involvement of photoperiodic regulation in reproductive endocrine system of female olive flounder. To investigate the influence on brain-pituitary axis in endocrine system by regulating photoperiod, compared expression level of Kisspeptin and sbGnRH mRNA in brain and FSH-β, LH-β and GH mRNA in pituitary before and after spawning. Photoperiod was treated natural photoperiod and long photoperiod (15L:9D) conditions from Aug. 2013 to Jun. 2014. Continuous long photoperiod treatment from Aug. (post-spawning phase) was inhibited gonadal development of female olive flounder. In natural photoperiod group, the Kiss2 expression level a significant declined in Mar. (spawning period). And also, FSH-β, LH-β and GH mRNA expression levels were increasing at this period. However, in long photoperiod group, hypothalamic Kiss2, FSH-β, LH-β and GH mRNA expression levels did not show any significant fluctuation. These results suggest that expression of hypothalamic Kiss2, GtH and GH in the pituitary would change in response to photoperiod and their possible involvement of photoperiodic regulation in reproductive endocrine system of the BPG axis.

        가상기업을 위한 멀티에이전트 기반 태스크할당시스템에 관한 연구

        With the paradigm shifting from the principal of manufacturing efficiency to business globalism and rapid adaptation to its environments, more and more enterprises are being virtually organized as manufacturing network of different units in web. The formation of these enterprise called as Virtual Enterprise(VE) is becoming a growing trend as enterprises concentrating on core competence and economic benefit. This paper proposes multi-agent based task assignment system for VE, which attempts to address he selection of individually managed partners and the task assignment to them. A case example is presented to illustrate how the proposed system can assign the task to partners.

      • Typhoid Vi Capsular Polysaccharide Vaccine의 임상시험에 관한 연구

        목적 : 장티푸스 예방 접종 중 살모넬라 Ty2 균주에서 강력한 항원성을 갖는 Vi 협막성 다당질항원을 분리 정제한 백신이 국내에서 개발된 바 그 효능과 부작용에 대하여 알아보고자 이 연구를 시행하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 1993년 4월부터 1995년 4월까지 주식회사 녹십자의 타이포박스®를 경남 울산군소재 애리원생 86명을 대상으로 접종 전과 접종 후 1개월, 3개월 및 12개월에 혈액 3㎖를 채취하여 혈청을 분리하고, 이를 녹십자 종합연구소에 의뢰하여 수동혈구응집반응법(passive hemagglutination)으로 Vi 항체가를 측정하였다 결과 : 예방 접종 후 Vi 항체의 양성율은 1개월에 96.5%(검사 대상 86례 중 83례), 3개월에 96.5%(86례 중 83례), 12개월에 96.4%(86례 중 81례)였으며 부작용으로는 경미한 국소 발적 반응과 경한 통증이 각각 5례, 경한 발열이 2례에서 있었다. 결론 : Vi 협막성 다당질 항원을 분리 정제한 타이포박스®는 접종 후 높은 항체가와 경미한 부작용을 나타내어 장티푸스 예방 접종 주사로서의 임상적 가치가 높다고 사료된다. Purpose : Recently, Vi capsular polysaccharide from Salmonella typhi Ty2 has been purified and manufactured as a vaccine(Typhovax®, Korea Green Cross) in Korea. To evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of Vi capsular polysaccharide vaccine this study was performed. Methods : A single dose of 0.5㎖(25㎍) was injected subcutaneously to 86 persons aged 8-44 years. Anti-Vi antibody titers were measured by passive hemagglutinarion test before and 1, 3, and 12 months after vaccination. Results : The rate of seroconversion was 96.5% at 1 month after vaccination. The antibody titers were sustained for at least 12 months. Transient local reactions, including pain and erythema, were noted in 5 cases(5.8%) and mild fever was developed in two cases(2.3%). Conclusions : To see whether this acquired level of Vi antibody titers protects infection from typhoid fever and the elevated level of Vi antibody titers persists, further clinical and epidemiological studies would be required.

        복합상영관 화재에 대한 화재모델링의 적용

        다중이용시설의 화재시 온도분포 및 연기유동 모델링은 결정론적 모델(Deterministic Model)인 존모델(Zone Model) 필드모델(Field Model)이 주로 사용되고 있다. 존모델은 공간을 두개의 지역으로 구분하여 화재현상을 분석하고, 필드모델은 공간을 다수의 Cell로 구분하여 분석하고 있으나 두모델의 비교치에 대해서는 효용성 검증에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 따라서 화재현상의 모델링에 따른 수치적 이해와 관련자료의 검증을 통하여 실상황에 보다 근접한 새로운 모델의 개발이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 두모델을 복합상영관은 실내공간에 적용하여 그 효용성을 분석해본 결과 공간 평균분포도에서는 존모델이, 세부적 공간현상에서는 필드모델의 적용이 적절한 것으로 판단된다. 또한 구체적인 화재의 성상과 감지기의 위치선정, 연기제어를 위한 제연설비의 검토를 위해서는 필드모델의 활용이 더욱 효과적이다. The deterministic modeling techniques like Zone model and Field model are mainly used for thermal distribution and smoke flow at fire case in multi use facilities. While Zone model analyse fire simulation by dividing spaces by 2 section, the Field model dividing many cells. However, the difficultly follows to prove efficiency between the two models when it applys. Therefore new modeling development is required which in closes to real situation by verify number algorithm and related data for fire modeling. The paper analyses the efficiency of two different fire modeling at interior spaces of multiplex cinema theater. It is found that the zone model for average distribution and the field model for detail space phenomenon are relevant to apply. Also, Filed model is useful to the result that fire analysis and position of detector and review for smoke control system.

        여수산단 대기 중 휘발성유기화합물질 농도 경향

        The concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the ambient air were measured at three sites (Samil-dong, SRO and EFMC) in Yeosu industrial complex during September 2000 to August 2001. Air samples were collected for 24 hours in Silicocan canister (6ℓ) with constant flow samplers every 6 days and analyzed using a cryogenic preconcentration system and a GC/MS. At each site, we identified 35 species known as on both the carcinogenic and mutagenicity by the EPA US (TO-14 manual). No relationship was found between VOCs concentration at three sampling points. Furthermore, the result shows that there appears to be a variety distribution of the concentration. BTX, vinyl chloride and high concentrations of I, 2-dichloroethane were observed at the sampling sites. Especially, high concentration of toxic VOCs, such as vinyl chloride, chloroform, I, 2-dichloroethane and benzene were shown at environmental facilities management cooperation (EMFC) site. They seem to be emitted from the facility of wastewater treatment in Yeosu industrial complex. It was difficult to tell the seasonal variation of total VOCs concentration. Nevertheless, the concentration in winter was typically higher than in summer. The concentrations of toxic VOCs contents in Yeosu industrial complex were generally lower than those in Ulsan complex, although those were similar or less than in Seoul and Daegu. Whereas, toluene and styrene emitted from Yeosu industrial complex were higher than those of Edmonton industrial complex in Canada. Especially, toluene was third times higher than those observed from Texas, USA.

        여수석유화학산단 내 VOCs에 대한 오염원 분류표의 개발 및 CMB 모델에 의한 기여도 산정

        The purposes of this study were to characterize the local levels of VOCs (volatile organic compounds), to develop source profiles of VOCs, and to quantify the source contribution of VOCs using the CMB (chemical mass balance) model. The concentration of VOCs had been measured every 6-day duration in the SRO monitoring site in the Yeosu Petrochemical Industrial Complex from September 2000 to August 2002. The total of 35 target VOCs, which were included in the TO-14 designated from the U.S. EPA, was selected to be monitored in the study area. During a 24-h period, the ambient VOCs were sampled by using canisters placing about 10~15 m above the ground level. The collected canisters were then analyzed by a GC-MS in the laboratory. Aside from ambient sampling at the SRO site, the VOCs had been intensively and massively measured from 8 direct sources and 4 general sources in the study area. The results obtained in the study were as follows; first, the annual mean concentrations of the target VOCs were widely distributed regardless of monitoring sites in the Yeosu Petrochemical Industrial Complex. In particular, the concentrations of BTX (Benzene, Toluene, Xylene), vinyl chloride were higher than other target compounds. Second, based on these source sample data, source profiles for VOCs were developed to apply a receptor model, the CMB model. Third, the results of source apportionment study for the VOCs in the SRO Site were as follows; The source of petrochemical plant was apportioned by 31.3% in terms of VOCs mass. The site was also affected by 16.7% from wastewater treatment plant, 14.0% from iron mills, 8.4% from refineries, 4.4% from oil storage, 3.8% from automobiles, 2.3% from fertilizer, 2.3% from painting, 2.2% from waste incinerator, 0.6% from graphic art, and 0.4% from gasoline vapor sources.

      • 만성 부비동염에서 수술전후 후각변화

        Background and Objectives: Recently, there has been an increase of olfactory disorders due to many etiologies and chronic paranasal sinusitis is the most common etiology of olfactory dysfunction. Functional endoscopic sinus surgery(FESS) is now the surgical procedure of choice for treating chronic sinusitis in patients of all ages. We studied the effect of the surgery on olfaction of patients with chronic paranasal sinusitis. Materials and Methods: In order to study the effect of age, as well as the influence of smoking on olfaction in clinical states, we examined olfactory ability using the T&T olfactometer. A preoperative and postoperative evaluation of the olfactory function was carried out in 47 patients. According to the preoperative recognition threshold, olfactory function of all patients were divided into five groups. Results: The group 1 was normal, group 2 was mild decreased, group 3 was moderate decreased, group 4 was severe decreased and group 5 was anosmia. Almost patients were improved on olfaction in the postoperative state. However, 7 patients who were more than 40 years old at the time of surgery, and currently smoking, had a significant deficit of olfaction in the preoperative stage and even in the postoperative stage. Conclusion: These results indicate that smoking has adverse effects on olfactory ability, especially for older patients.
