A Novel Approach to Trojan Horse Detection in Mobile Phones Messaging and Bluetooth Services
( Juan A. Ortega ),( Daniel Fuentes ),( Juan A. Lvarez ),( Luis Gonzalez-abril ),( Francisco Velasco ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2011 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.5 No.8
A method to detect Trojan horses in messaging and Bluetooth in mobile phones by means of monitoring the events produced by the infections is presented in this paper. The structure of the detection approach is split into two modules: the first is the Monitoring module which controls connection requests and sent/received files, and the second is the Graphical User module which shows messages and, under suspicious situations, reports the user about a possible malware. Prototypes have been implemented on different mobile operating systems to test its feasibility on real cellphone malware. Experimental results are shown to be promising since this approach effectively detects various known malware.

Anterior exposure for cervical chordomas remains challenging because of the anatomical complexities and the restoration of the dimensional balance of the atlanto-axial region. In this report, we describe and analyze the transmandibular transoral approach and multilevel spinal reconstruction for upper cervical chordomas. We report two cases of cervical chordomas (C2 and C2–C4) that were treated by marginal en bloc resection with a transmandibular approach and anterior-posterior multilevel spinal reconstruction/fixation. Both patients showed clinical improvement. Postoperative imaging was negative for any residual tumor and revealed adequate reconstruction and stabilization. Marginal resection requires more extensive exposure to allow the surgeon access to the entire pathology, as an inadequate tumor margin is the main factor that negatively affects the prognosis. Anterior and posterior reconstruction provides a rigid reconstruction that protects the medulla and decreases axial pain by properly stabilizing the cervical spine.

Purpose: To study those factors that influence the occurrence of surgical complications and local relapse in patients intervened for breast cancer and receiving intraoperative radiotherapy. Methods: Observational study on patients intervened for breast cancer with conservative surgery and intraoperative radiotherapy with low-voltage X-ray energy source (INTRABEAM), from 2015 to 2017 with 24 months minimum followup. Variables possibly associated to the occurrence of postoperative complications were analyzed with the Student t-test and the Fisher exact test; P < 0.05 considered significant. Subsequently, the construction of multiple multivariate analysis models began, thus building a logistic regression analysis using the IBM SPSS Statistics ver. 23 software. Local relapse was described. Results: The study included 102 patients, mean age of 61.2 years; mean global size of tumor, 12.2 mm. Complications occurred in 29.4%. Fibrosis was the most frequently observed complication, followed by postoperative seroma. Using a 45 mm or larger applicator were significantly associated with the occurrence of complications. Tumor size 2 cm or larger and reintervention showed borderline significant association. Only one case of local relapse was observed. Conclusion: Certain factors may increase the risk of complication after the use of intraoperative radiotherapy. Using external complementary radiotherapy does not seem to increase the rate of complications. Select patients and the involvement of a multidisciplinary team are essential for achieving good results

We study two conditions on the Ricci tensor of a real hypersurface of complex projective space that allows us to characterize certain real hypersurfaces. We also introduce a new kind of such real hypersurfaces.
Experimental analysis of the aerodynamic characteristics of a rectangular 5:1 cylinder using POD
Juan A. Cárdenas-Rondón,Mikel Ogueta-Gutiérrez,Sebastián Franchini,Omar Gómez-Ortega 한국풍공학회 2022 Wind and Structures, An International Journal (WAS Vol.34 No.1
Following the BARC initiative, wind tunnel measurements have been performed on a 5:1 rectangular cylinder. Pressure distribution has been measured in several sections, checking the two-dimensionality of the flow around the model. Mean values compare well with previous data. These measurements have been processed using the standard Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD) and the snapshot POD to obtain phase-resolved cycles. This decomposition has been used to analyze the characteristics of the flow around the cylinder, in particular, the behavior of the recirculation bubble in the upper/lower surfaces. The effect of the angle of attack, the turbulence intensity and the Reynolds number has been studied. First and second modes extracted from POD have been found to be related to the reattachment of the flow in the upper surface. Increasing the angle of attack is related to a delay in the reattachment position, while an increase in turbulence intensity makes the reattachment point to move towards the windward face.

Objective: To describe the roadmapping technique and our three-year experience in the management of intracranial aneurysms in the hybrid operating room. Methods: We analyzed all patients who underwent surgical clipping for cerebral aneurysms with the roadmapping technique from January 2017 to September 2019. We report demographic, clinical, and morphological variables, as well as clinical and radiological outcomes. We further describe three illustrative cases of the technique. Results: A total of 13 patients were included, 9 of which (69.2%) presented with subarachnoid hemorrhage, with a total of 23 treated aneurysms. All patients were female, with a mean age of 47.7 years (range 31-63). All cases were anterior circulation aneurysms, the most frequent location being the ophthalmic segment of the internal carotid artery (ICA) in 11 cases (48%), followed by posterior communicating in 8 (36%), and ICA bifurcation in 2 (8%). Intraoperative clip repositioning was required in 9 aneurysms (36%) as a result of the roadmapping technique in the hybrid operating room. There were no residual aneurysms in our series, nor reported mortality. Conclusions: The roadmapping technique in the hybrid operating room offers a complementary tool for the adequate occlusion of complex intracranial aneurysms, as it provides a real time fluoroscopic-guided clipping technique, and clip repositioning is possible in a single surgical stage, whenever a residual portion of the aneurysm is identified. This technique also provides some advantages, such as immediate vasospasm identification and treatment with intra-arterial vasodilators, balloon proximal control for certain paraclinoid aneurysms, and simultaneous endovascular treatment in selected cases during a single stage. Theoretical model to determine bond loss in prestressed concrete with reinforcement corrosion
Ortega, Nestor F.,Moro, Juan M.,Meneses, Romina S. Techno-Press 2018 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.65 No.1
This paper reviews the mechanical effects produced by reinforcement corrosion of prestressed concrete beams. Specifically, modifications in the bonding of the tendon to the concrete that reduce service life and load bearing capacity are studied. Experimental information gathered from previous works has been used for the theoretical analysis. Relationships between bond stress loss and reinforcement penetration in the concrete, and concrete external cracking were established. Also, it was analysed the influence that has the location of the area affected by corrosion on the loss magnitude of the initial prestress.

The acquisition of an 18F-FDG PET-CT scan in patients with suspected paraneoplastic cerebellar syndrome can be helpful in determining the origin of a neoplasm because of its high sensitivity and also helps guide the neurological development course depending on the degree of incorporation of 18F-FDG to the cerebellar parenchyma when compared with the rest of the brain.

A modelling methodology based on the precision-complexity binomial has been applied to a parametricmodel established for the Gibbs function, in order to achieve the best parameterization. This methodologyis integrated into a multi-objective optimization method to describe, as accurately as possible, thereal behaviour of a set of binary solutions of butyl butanoate-alkanes, for which several of their propertieshave been experimentally determined. The optimization is addressed with a genetic algorithm withelitism-control that favours the convergence, providing well distributed results along the efficientfronts. A database of, approximately 1500 values, was generated, which used to check the numerical procedure. The representation of different properties is acceptably described with the multiproperty modelconstituted by the gE-model and its successive derivatives. In relation to other models, the approach carriedout significantly improves the results because, in addition, it includes an estimation of the volumetriceffects. A practical application was carried out with the simulation of a separation process for one ofthe systems that present a complex behaviour, providing solutions for its implementation in an industrialscale.
