      • 점농어(Lateorabrax sp.)의 종묘생산에 관한연구 1. 稚魚期에 있어서 成長과 生存에 미치는 염분의 영향

        점농어 稚魚(孵化後 150일째)의 염분 농도별 실험구(A : 30‰, B : 20‰, C : 10‰, D : 0‰)에서의 성장율과 생존율은 다음과 같다. 부화 150일루 稚魚들을 각각의 염분 농도에 수용하였을 때 수용 수 50일째까지는 고염분에서 성장이 다소 빨랐으나, 수용 후 60일째 부터는 담수와 저염분의 실험구에서 성장이 매우 양호하였다. 각 염분별 사육일수 (X)에 따른 전장(Y)과의 회귀직선식은 다음과 같다. 30‰ 실험구 : Y = 20.26X + 57.20 (r=0.9799), 20‰ 실험구 : Y = 19.74X + 57.82 (r=0.9825), 10‰ 실험구 : Y = 20.80X + 56.34 (r=0.9823), 담수(0‰) 실험구 : Y = 21.43X + 54.71 (r=0.9845). 염분 농도를 달리하여 사육하였을 때 生存率은 수용 초기에는 담수 실험구에서 生存率이 떨어졌으나, 수용 후 50일째부터는 오히려 담수 실험구에서 生存率이 높았으며, 수용 후 90일째부터는 生存率이 86.0∼91.0%로 실험구별로 큰 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 각 실험구간의 기울기에 유의성 검정결과 담수(0‰) 실험구와 10‰, 20‰실험구 및 30‰실험구 사이에는 유의한 차이가 있었다. This study was conducted to compare the growth and survival rates of spotted sea bass, Lateorabrax sp., juveniles in different salinities (0‰, 10‰, 20‰, 30‰). The growth rate of sea bass juveniles were not observed significant difference in all test group until 50 days after rearing. After that, However rate of sea bass juveniles in low salinity was higher than the high salinity. The relationship between the days of rearing (X) and the total length (Y) of the fingerlings were as follows : 30‰ treatment group : Y = 20.26X + 57.20 (r=0.9799), 20‰ treatment group : Y = 19.74X + 57.82 (r=0.9825), 10‰ treatment group : Y = 20.80X + 56.34 (r=0.9823), 0‰ treatment group : Y = 21.43X + 54.71 (r=0.9845). The slopes of regression line estimated from 0‰, 10‰ and 20‰groups were significantly different from that of 30‰ group. Survival rate of sea bass juveniles was fall down slightly at low salinitly () until 50 days after rearing. But significant difference of survival rate was observed in all test group from 90 day after rearing to the end of experimental period.

        Hereditary spherocytosis is a common cause of hemolysis and hemolytic anemia. Some children remain asymptomatic into adulthood but others may have severe anemia with pallor, jaundice and fatigue. After infancy, the spleen is usually enlarged, and pigmentary gallstones may form as early as age 4~5 year. But it increases abruptly after age 10 year. At least 50% of unsplenectomized patients ultimately form gallstones, although for the most part they remain asymptomatic. We report herewith a case of multiple gallstone with obstructive jaundice in 5 years old patient with hereditary spherocytosis.

        This paper studies the problem of determining the optimal standard product sizes minimizing the loss function, which is composed of demand distribution and preference functions. The customer who wants to buy the product of size x in the range x_(i-x)<x<x_i may purchase the product of size u_i. Size u_i represents the standard product size which covers the interval (x_(i-1), x_i). Purchasing desire decreases as the difference between a customer's requirement(x) and the standard product size(u_i) increases. The standard product sizes u_i and the range limits x_i can be determined so as to minimize the loss function.

      • 말기신부전 환자의 혈색소 순환 : 투석 방식에 따른 양상 비교 및 관련 인자들에 대한 고찰

        혈색소 순환은 말기신부전 환자에서 인체 재조합 적혈구 조혈 인자를 투여하여 빈혈을 치료하는 동안 빈번히 관찰되며 이는 환자의 입원과 사망률과 관계가 있다고 알려져 있다. 이에 저자는 투석중인 말기 신부전 환자를 대상으로 혈색소 순환 양상과 이와 연관된 인자들을 알아보고자 하였다. 혈색소 순환의 관련 인자들을 알아보기 위하여 투석 치료를 받고 있는 환자 40명 (혈액투석 환자군: 20형, 복막투석 환자군: 20명)을 대상으로 투석 시작부터 1년 동안의 환자의 나이와 성별, 투석시작 1년간의 평균 Hb, 수혈 횟수, 총입원 횟수, 감염으로 인한 입원 횟수, 혈청 ferritin 농도, 혈청 transferrin saturation (TSAT), 철분제제 복용 유무, 일주일 동안 투여된 rHuEPO 양, rHuEPO의 변화량, 알부민, C-reactive protein (CRP) 및 입원 원인 등을 후향적으로 조사하였다. 전체 환자 40명 중 33명 (82.5%)에서 혈색소 순환이 관찰되었다. 혈액투석 환자군에 비해 복막투석 환자군에서 혈색소 순환 첫수가 유의하게 높았다 (p=0.037).혈색소 순환 발생군과 혈색소 순환 미발생군의 관련인자들을 비교하였을 경우 혈색소 순환 발생군에서 총 입원 첫수 (p=0.01), 감염으로 인한 입원 횟수 (p=0.036)가 유의하게 많았으며, 혈중 알부민 수치는 유의하게 낮았다 (p=0.003).그러나 두 군간의 나이, 성별, 수혈 횟수, 혈청 ferritin농도, 혈청 transferrin saturation (TSAT) 및 혈청 철분 농도는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 혈색소 순환의 빈도는 일주일 동안 투여된 r-HuEPO변화량과 양의 상관관계를 보였고 (p=0.003),혈중 알부민 수치와 음의 상관관계를 보였다 (p=0.013). 복막투석 환자군에서 혈액투석 환자군에 비해 혈색소 순환이 유의하게 높게 발생하였다. 일주일 동안 투여된 r-HuEPO 변화량, 입원 및 혈청 알부민 수치는 투석 시작부터 1년 동안의 혈색소 순환과 관련이 있었다. Hemoglobin cycling is frequently observed during treatment of anemia with recombinant human erythropoietin (r-HuEPO) in patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) it is also reported to be associated with hospitalization and morbidity. We analyzed hemoglobin cycling and potential associated factors in patients on dialysis. Forty new dialysis patients (20 hemodialysis, HD and 20 peritoneal dialysis, PD) were recruited during their first year. Age, gender, mean hemoglobin level, frequency of transfusion, frequency of hospital admission, frequency of admission due to infection, serum ferritin, transferrine saturation, iron levels, rHuEPO dose per week, serum albumin, and c-reactive protein were retrospectively evaluated in order to examine the possible correlations with hemoglobin cycling. Thirty-three patients (82.5%) were identified in the hemoglobin cycling group. The PD group had a higher frequency of hemoglobin cycling than did the HD group (p=0.037). The hemoglobin cycling group showed a significantly higher frequency of hospital admission (P=0.001), admission due to infection (p=0.036) and a lower serum albumin level (p=0.003) than the other group, but there was no significant difference between the groups for age, gender, frequency of transfusion, serum ferritin, transferrine saturation, and iron levels. The frequency of hemoglobin cycling showed a positive correlation with the i-HuEPO dose variation per week (p=0.003) and a negative correlation with serum albumin level (p=0.013). The PD group had a higher frequency of hemoglobin cycling than the HD group, and the change of rHuEPO dose per week, hospitalization and serum albumin were associated with the hemoglobin cycling during the first year of dialysis.

        Four solar stills that were fabricated each with cubes and glazing tilted angles of 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, were compared with the quantities of condensed water. The quantities of condensed water were analysed with the weather conditions and temperatures for three months, On fine days, the quantity of average condensed water was more similar to those of 15° and 30°than to those of 45° and 60°, The quantity of condensed water produced by those of 45° and 60° were very irregular compared to those of 15° and 30", On rainy days, the quantity of condensed water was the most in that of 30° than those of the other angles and in cloudy, rainy and sunny conditions, the condensation quantity was the largest in that of 60°.

      • 한국産 황어의 종묘생산에 관한 연구 1. 産卵習性 및 初期生活史

        강원도 양양군에 위치한 남대천과 전라남도 섬진강에 분포하고 있는 황어의 종료생산을 위한 기초자료로 産卵習性과 初期生活史에 관하여 관찰한 결과는 다음과 같다. 황어의 産卵期는 자연상태에서 3∼6月이고, 産卵은 흐르는 하천의 자갈 밑에 하였으며, 受精된 卵은 작은 자갈의 표면에 붙어있었다. 알의 크기는 2.70∼3.20㎜(평균 3.00㎜)로 油球는 없었다. 孵化는 평균 사육수온 10.60℃에서 受精 後 300시간부터 시작되었으며, 312시간만에 완료되었다. 孵化 直後의 仔魚는 전장 6.35∼6.87㎜(평균 10.67㎜)로 난황이 거의 흡수되어 後期仔魚期로 접어들며, 입과 항문이 열려있었다. 孵化 後 7∼9일째 後期仔魚는 전장 11.35∼12.30㎜(평균 11.65㎜)로 등지느러미가 생길 부분이 융기하기 시작하였다. 孵化 後 12∼13일째 개체는 전장 12.65∼13.15㎜(평균 12.80)로 이때부터 Daphnia sp.와 Brachionus plicatilis를 攝餌하였으며, 성장이 다소 빨라졌고, 脊索의 끝부분은 45°위로 굽어져 있었다. 孵化 後 43∼45일째의 개체는 전장이 19.55∼22.85㎜(평균 21.95㎜)로 모든 지느러미 줄기가 정수에 달하여 稚魚期로 이행하였다. 孵化 後 50∼52일째의 稚魚들은 전장이 21.54∼27.35㎜(평균 24.55㎜)로 몸의 형태, 체색 및 옆줄이 완전하게 형성되어 成魚에 닮아 있었다. The spawning behavior and early life history of sea rundace, Tribolodon hakonensis were studied. Spawning of T. hakonensis occurs enmasse on bottoms of stream with a spawning season of March to June. The eggs are attached to the under surface of the gravel. The eggs riped were demersal and adhesive, and their diameter were 2.70∼3.20㎜(mean 3.00㎜). Hatching was started at 300 hours after fertilization at mean water temperature 10.60℃. Newly-hatched larvae were 6.35∼6.87㎜ in total length(TL, Mean 6.65㎜), and mouth and anus were not yet opened. 4∼5 days old larvae transformed to postlarva stage and they were 10.25㎜∼11.15㎜ in TL (mean 10.67㎜). As yolk sac were nearly absorbed, mouth and anus were opened. In 7∼9 days after hatching, total length 11.35∼12.30㎜(mean 11.65㎜). The part of the fin-fold at dorsal fin became high. 12∼13 days old larvae were 12.65∼13.15㎜ in TL(mean 12.80㎜), and they fed Daphnia sp. and Brachionus plicatilis actively. In this time the growth rate slightly increased and tip of notocord was flesed on upward. Aggregate numbers of all fin rays were completed at over 19.55∼22.85㎜ in TL(43∼45 days after hatching), at which time the larvae reached the juvenile stage. 50∼52 days old larvae(21.54∼27.35㎜ in TL) were similar in body from, lateral line and color with adult.

        Case Report : Hepatoid adenocarcinoma of the stomach: an unusual case of elevated alpha-fetoprotein with prior treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma

        Hepatoid adenocarcinoma (HAC) is a rare type of extrahepatic carcinoma whose morphology is similar to that of hepatocellular carcinoma (Hcc).Metachronous HCC and HAC in the Same patient is extremely rare. The case of a 68-yearold man with chronic hepatitis B infection who had both Hcc and HAC of the stomach is reported herein. Nine years previously this patient had been diagnosed with HCC received a right lobectomy. HCC that recurred at the caudate lobe at 6 months after the operation was successfully treated with transarterial chemoembolization. The patient was followed up regularly thereafter without evidence of tumor recurrence for 9 years. In July 2010 his serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) level elevated from 6.5 ng/mL, and he developed a probable single metastatic Iymph node around the hepatic artery without intrahepatic lisions. Subsequent evaluation with upper endoscopy revealed a 4-cm ulcerative lesion on the antrum of the stomach. Subtotal gastrectomy was performed with Iymph-node dissection. Histologic examination revealed a special type of extrahepatic AFP-producing adenocarcinoma-HAC with Iymph-node metastasis-which indicates that HAC can be a cause of elevated AFP even in patients with HCC. HAC should be considered if a patient with stable HCC exhibits unusual elevation of AFP.

        <P>In construction industries, new construction materials are needed to overcome some problems associated with the use of conventional construction materials due to the change of environmental and social requirements. Accordingly, the requirements to be satisfied in the design of civil engineering structures are diversified. As a new construction material in the civil engineering industries, fiber reinforced polymeric plastic (FRP) has a superior corrosion resistance, high specific strength/stiffness, etc. Therefore, such properties can be used to mitigate the problems associated with the use of conventional construction materials. Nowadays, new types of bridge piers and marine piles are being studied for new construction. They are made of concrete filled fiber reinforced polymeric plastic tubes (CFFT). In this paper, a new type of FRP-concrete composite pile which is composed of reinforced concrete filled FRP tube (RCFFT) is proposed to improve compressive strength as well as flexural strength of an RCFFT. The load carrying capacity of proposed RCFFT is discussed based on the result of experimental and analytical investigations.</P>

      • Effect of ischemic preconditioning on antioxidant status in the gerbil hippocampal CA1 region after transient forebrain ischemia

        <P>Ischemic preconditioning (IPC) is a condition of sublethal transient global ischemia and exhibits neuroprotective effects against subsequent lethal ischemic insult. We, in this study, examined the neuroprotective effects of IPC and its effects on immunoreactive changes of antioxidant enzymes including superoxide dismutase (SOD) 1 and SOD2, catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GPX) in the gerbil hippocampal CA1 region after transient forebrain ischemia. Pyramidal neurons of the stratum pyramidale (SP) in the hippocampal CA1 region of animals died 5 days after lethal transient ischemia without IPC (8.6% (ratio of remanent neurons) of the sham-operated group); however, IPC prevented the pyramidal neurons from subsequent lethal ischemic injury (92.3% (ratio of remanent neurons) of the sham-operated group). SOD1, SOD2, CAT and GPX immunoreactivities in the sham-operated animals were easily detected in pyramidal neurons in the stratum pyramidale (SP) of the hippocampal CA1 region, while all of these immunoreactivities were rarely detected in the stratum pyramidale at 5 days after lethal transient ischemia without IPC. Meanwhile, their immunoreactivities in the sham-operated animals with IPC were similar to (SOD1, SOD2 and CAT) or higher (GPX) than those in the sham-operated animals without IPC. Furthermore, their immunoreactivities in the stratum pyramidale of the ischemia-operated animals with IPC were steadily maintained after lethal ischemia/reperfusion. Results of western blot analysis for SOD1, SOD2, CAT and GPX were similar to immunohistochemical data. In conclusion, IPC maintained or increased the expression of antioxidant enzymes in the stratum pyramidale of the hippocampal CA1 region after subsequent lethal transient forebrain ischemia and IPC exhibited neuroprotective effects in the hippocampal CA1 region against transient forebrain ischemia.</P>
