<P>In three-dimensional integrated circuit (3D-IC) systems that use through-silicon via (TSV) technology, a significant design consideration is the coupling noise to or from a TSV. It is important to estimate the TSV noise transfer function and manage the noise-tolerance budget in the design of a reliable 3D-IC system. In this paper, a TSV noise coupling model is proposed based on a three-dimensional transmission line matrix method (3D-TLM). Using the proposed TSV noise coupling model, the noise transfer functions from TSV to TSV and TSV to the active circuit can be precisely estimated in complicated 3D structures, including TSVs, active circuits, and shielding structures such as guard rings. To validate the proposed model, a test vehicle was fabricated using the Hynix via-last TSV process. The proposed model was successfully verified by frequency- and time-domain measurements. Additionally, a noise isolation technique in 3D-IC using a guard ring structure is proposed. The proposed noise isolation technique was also experimentally demonstrated; it provided -17 dB and -10dB of noise isolation between the TSV and an active circuit at 100 MHz and 1 GHz, respectively.</P>

<P>In this paper, an electric oil pump control algorithm for an automatic-transmission-based hybrid electric vehicle was proposed. Dynamic models of the hybrid electric vehicle powertrain and hydraulic control system, including a mechanical oil pump and an electric oil pump, were obtained, and a hybrid electric vehicle performance simulator was developed. Also, a flow consumption model of the hydraulic control system was constructed. To represent the characteristics of the hydraulic control system according to the change in the temperature of the automatic transmission fluid, a viscosity index concept was introduced. Based on the simulation and test results, a viscosity index–line pressure–electric oil pump power map was proposed to describe the power supply requirement according to the viscosity index and the required line pressure. Using the viscosity index–line pressure–electric oil pump power map, an electric oil pump control algorithm was suggested to control the electric oil pump by using multi-stage power for a given viscosity index. The mechanical oil pump speed at which the electric oil pump is turned off was obtained on the basis of the flow consumption model. The electric oil pump control algorithm was evaluated by experiments and simulations. The proposed electric oil pump control algorithm satisfied the target line pressure requirement according to the viscosity index. In addition, an electric oil pump control strategy during an automatic transmission gear shift was suggested for the situation in which the maximum line pressure required for the gear shift cannot be achieved by only the mechanical oil pump. The electric-oil-pump-assisted power was determined from the flow consumption model and the mechanical oil pump speed considering the gear shift. The simulation results confirmed that the electric oil pump control strategy satisfied the maximum line pressure during a gear shift.</P>
Evaluations of AI-based malicious PowerShell detection with feature optimizations

Cyberattacks are often difficult to identify with traditional signature-based detection, because attackers continually find ways to bypass the detection methods. Therefore, researchers have introduced artificial intelligence (AI) technology for cybersecurity analysis to detect malicious PowerShell scripts. In this paper, we propose a feature optimization technique for AI-based approaches to enhance the accuracy of malicious PowerShell script detection. We statically analyze the PowerShell script and preprocess it with a method based on the tokens and abstract syntax tree (AST) for feature selection. Here, tokens and AST represent the vocabulary and structure of the PowerShell script, respectively. Performance evaluations with optimized features yield detection rates of 98% in both machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) experiments. Among them, the ML model with the 3-gram of selected five tokens and the DL model with experiments based on the AST 3-gram deliver the best performance.
Effectiveness Evaluation of Plant Operational Parts on Stress Test in Kori unit 1

Fukusima nuclear power plant accident occurred due to a big earthquake and a tsunami in Japan on March 11 in 2011. Since then, the aftereffect of the accident has hit nuclear power industry stronger than expected. In our country, a lot of measures have been also taken to strengthen the safety of the nuclear power plant. Old nuclear power plants like kori unit 1 and wolsong unit 1 should be performed a stress test, which evaluates the maintainability of plant safety assuming the most severe accident that has no power supply and ultimate heat sink. In this paper, we introduced the stress test results performed for kori unit 1 plant related to the plant operational parts such as organization, personnel, working procedure, man-machine interface, education and training, etc.

<P>Goal: For healthcare and clinical use, ambulatory gait monitoring systems using inertial sensors have been developed to estimate the user gait parameters, such as walking speed, stride time, and stride length. However, to adapt the systems effectively to daily-life activities, they need to be able to classify the gait activities of daily-life to obtain the parameters for each activity. In this study, we propose a simple classification algorithm based on a single inertial sensor for ease of use, which classifies three major gait activities: leveled walk, ramp walk, and stair walk. Method: The classification can be performed with gait parameter estimation simultaneously. The developed system that includes classification and parameter estimation algorithms was evaluated with eight healthy subjects within a gait lab and on an outdoor daily-life walking course. Results: The results showed that the estimated gait parameters were comparable to existing studies (range of walking speed root mean square error: 0.059-0.129 m/s), and the classification accuracy was sufficiently high for all three gait activities: 98.5% for the indoor gait lab experiment and 95.5% for the outdoor complex daily-life walking course experiment. Conclusion: The proposed system is simple and effective for daily-life gait analysis, including gait activity classification and gait parameter estimation for each activity.</P>

<P>Wireless systems equipped with distributed antennas can provide enhanced data throughput as well as improved signal quality when appropriate cooperative transmission schemes among antennas are employed. In this paper, the performance of distributed antenna systems (DAS) under the influence of Rayleigh fading and log-normal shadowing effects is investigated for different cooperation strategies, and corresponding statistical distributions for both the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) and the capacity are presented. Specifically, the ergodic capacity per remote antenna (RA) is determined when n RAs cooperatively transmit the desired signal to the target receiver, which is compared with the non-cooperative single-antenna transmission (SAT) case. Using the results, a preferable mode of operation for given geographic locations of the receiver is determined. We further propose to perform an adaptive operation between the cooperative and non-cooperative modes under the capacity maximization criteria, and quantify exact amounts of capacity gain over individual transmission modes.</P>
The Role of Auditory Perceptual Simulation in L2 Syntactic Processing

Auditory perceptual simulation (APS) reading is a virtual auditory representation of other speakers reading out a text. A previous L1 study showed that native speakers of English using APS reading read faster and more accurately. This study investigated whether using a similar paradigm can enhance L2 learners’ weak syntactic processing with more salient prosodic information. In eye-tracking experiments, L2 Korean learners of English, with or without APS-manipulation, read experimental sentences that employed the plausibility effect, such as The cat that the mouse chased was fast. The plausibility effect would occur when the participants properly established the structural relation and disappear when they overcame the difficulty with accurate syntactic interpretations. The results demonstrated that the APS-reading group showed larger plausibility effect at the critical region during the initial processing, but smaller plausibility effect during the late processing. The APS group detected the implausibility of the sentence earlier than the control group and had less difficulty accurately parsing the structure. This finding suggests that APS reading can improve L2 learners’ syntactic processing, as it does in L1 processing, by facilitating their prosodic representations.

통신 서비스의 발달에 따라 다양한 통신 서비스가 실현되고 있다. 특히 현재의 통신 서비스 시장 상황은 이동통신 서비스 수요의 폭발적인 증가 현상을 나타내고 있다. CCIR 및 CCITT에서는 개인 이동통신이 가능한 PCS(Personal Communication Services)를 제공하기 위해 UPT(Universal Personal Telecommunication) 서비스를 정의하였다. 본 연구에서는 IN CSI (Intelligent Network Capability Setl)에서 정의한 기능 실체를 UPT 서비스에 대응 시켜 보고, IN CSI을 이용하여 UPT에서 정의한 필수 기능-신분확인, 신분확인과 인증(idenfication and authentication), 입호, 출호 을 중심으로 한 UPT 호 서비스의 모델링을 제안한다.
