The use of aluminum control arm is on the increase to reduce vehicle weight and improve fuel efficiency. In this paper, durability performance of aluminum lower control arm is examined with fatigue analysis using vehicle road load data. Analysis was conducted by quasi-static fatigue analysis method. Analysis results was compared to vehicle test result. Design improvement of lower control arm is suggested to increase durability performance.

Recent increase of raw sequences generated by next generation sequencing (NGS) machines enabled re-analyzing raw sequences for diverse purposes: one is assembling organelle genome. One recent study completed the mitochondrial genomes of 14 ants from public raw sequences in subfamily Pseudomyrmecinae not having organelle genomes. Along with this approach, we have found four ant species of which genome papers were published and its raw sequences were open to public but its mitochondrial genome has not been assembled yet: Harpegnathos saltator and three Pogonomyrmex species (P. rugosus, P. anergismus, and P. colei). We assembled four complete mitochondrial genomes, presenting mitogenome of H. saltator 16,467 bp long and those of three Pogonomyrmex species above 21 kb long, ranking top among all known Hymenopteran mitogenomes. Four mitochondrial genomes contain 13 PCGs, 22 tRNAs, and 2 rRNAs, conserved as in all other insects. Phylogenomic tree based on partial or complete mitogneomes covering 26 genera provides insights of ant mitogenomic phylogeny and evolution.
Intracranial abscess from facial cellulitis
Park, Jonghyun,Kim, Woo Seob,Kim, Han Koo,Bae, Tae Hui Korean Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association 2019 Archives of Craniofacial Surgery Vol.20 No.5
Cellulitis, one of most common diseases of everyday life, is often overlooked for its significance. Although cellulitis does not cause or lead to serious problems usually, its possibility to cause lifethreatening problem should be known. In present case, a patient who had received acupuncture treatment a week earlier presented to the clinic with symptoms of facial cellulitis. The disease resolved within few weeks under empirical antibiotic treatment but recurred after 3 months. Under close history review of the patient, we found out that the patient had received craniectomy 20 years ago. The patient had blunt headache with no other neurological symptoms that could suspect cranial infection, but considering the risk originating from the patient's surgical history, brain computed tomography (CT) was taken. CT images revealed abscess formation in the subgaleal and epidural spaces. Craniotomy with abscess evacuation was done promptly. With additional antibiotic treatment postoperatively, the disease resolved, and the 1-month postoperative followup brain CT showed no signs of abscess formation.
Extensive and aggressive growth of adenoid cystic carcinoma in the lacrimal gland
Park, Jonghyun,Kim, Han Koo,Kim, Woo Seob,Bae, Tae Hui Korean Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association 2020 Archives of Craniofacial Surgery Vol.21 No.2
Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) in the lacrimal gland is a very rare disease with poor overall prognosis. Its primary treatment is surgical excision, including orbital exenteration and radical orbitectomy, which is combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Age, histopathologic type, bone invasion, and tumor extent are known factors that affect the prognosis of ACC. Furthermore, perineural invasion is highly associated with local tumor recurrence and tumor base invasion. Here, we report a rare case of ACC in the lacrimal gland with superior sagittal sinus invasion that repeatedly recurred after the surgical excision.
Capacity of Sectorized Distributed Networks Employing Adaptive Collaboration from Remote Antennas
PARK, Jonghyun,JANG, Ju Wook,PARK, Sang-Gyu,SUNG, Wonjin The Institute of Electronics, Information and Comm 2010 IEICE TRANSACTIONS ON COMMUNICATIONS - Vol.93 No.12

Distributed networks employing collaborative transmission (CT) from remote antennas can provide improved system capacity and cell-edge performance, by using appropriate transmission strategies. When compared to conventional non-collaborative transmission (NCT) from one base station (BS), we show that CT from two adjacent BSs can be beneficial in terms of the capacity, even when the transmission rate is normalized by the number of collaborating BSs. We further demonstrate that performing adaptive transmission (AT) between NCT and CT based on the instantaneous channel conditions provide an additional gain in capacity. The exact amount of achievable gain is quantified by the closed-form formula for the capacity distribution, which is derived using the Jacobian transformation. The presented distribution is immediately applicable to 6-sectored distributed cellular network, for which we present numerical verification of the results.

In this letter, multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) precoding which achieves the Gaussian broadcast channel (GBC) capacity under the per-antenna power constraint (PAPC) is investigated. In particular, closed-form expressions for both the MIMO precoder and the corresponding sum capacity are presented for the two-user case. We show that the result can also be utilized to provide the two-user capacity expression under the total power constraint (TPC) of transmit antennas.

Wireless systems equipped with distributed antennas can provide enhanced data throughput as well as improved signal quality when appropriate cooperative transmission schemes among antennas are employed. In this paper, the performance of distributed antenna systems (DAS) under the influence of Rayleigh fading and log-normal shadowing effects is investigated for different cooperation strategies, and corresponding statistical distributions for both the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) and the capacity are presented. Specifically, the ergodic capacity per remote antenna (RA) is determined when n RAs cooperatively transmit the desired signal to the target receiver, which is compared with the non-cooperative single-antenna transmission (SAT) case. Using the results, a preferable mode of operation for given geographic locations of the receiver is determined. We further propose to perform an adaptive operation between the cooperative and non-cooperative modes under the capacity maximization criteria, and quantify exact amounts of capacity gain over individual transmission modes.

The genus Camponotus Mayr, 1861 distributes all over the world, even ranging from the African desserts to the Antarctic islands. Number of species in this genus is the largest: 1,488 taxa (species and subspecies) accounting for 10% ant species. Despite of it, number of available complete mitochondrial genomes was only one, Camponotus atrox (subgenus Camponotus). To decipher characteristics of mitochondrial genome of this genus, we completed mitochondrial genomes of Camponotus nipponensis Santschi, 1937, belonging to subgenera Myrmentoma using Illumina HiSeqX. The total length of mitochondrial genome of C. nipponensis is 15,532bp with 79.8% A + T content. It consists of 13 PCGs, 22 tRNA, and 2 rRNA genes and an A+T–rich control region. This mitochondrial genome will be a useful resource to understand features of Camponotus genus with adding more mitochondrial genomes of other subgenera, such as Paramyrmamblys.
