        Air springs are now widely used in bus or truck suspensions due to their advantages over conventional metal spring as coil or leaf springs. Air springs have soft spring rates, which give better ride quality, and additional leveling system provides constant ride height and maintains almost same vertical natural frequencies. A mathematical model of an air spring suspension system are investigated in the light of leveling valve motion characteristic. vertical motion natural frequency. Also, using a full vehicle model, handling characteristics of an air spring suspension is studied and the results are compared with real test results, which shows good agreements.

        In implementing real time video on demand(VOD), the increase of user on internet causes a network traffic congestion. In this paper, we programmed a CGI able to login in VOD home for limiting the number of user in solving the problem, and also applied an adaptive multimedia synchronization technique for controlling video and audio data in a network. In addition, a real time multimedia player was designed and implemented in a personal computer operating at Window95/98/NT.

      • 디이젤 機關에서 排出되는 微粒子의 測定方法에 관한 硏究

        The Mini-dilution tunnel has been designed and constructed for the diesel particulate emission measurement and in order to reduce the pariculate emission from diesel engines. In this system, raw exhaust is split off and then diluted in the tunnel with air to control the mixture temperature and the CO₂ tracer method is used to determine the dilution ratio for the calculation of particulate mass fraction For designing this system, experimental data relative to tunnel diameter, length, volume flow, mixture temperature degree of mixing and sampling flow rate were reviewed. Concequently, this mini-dilution tunnel system was found to have a good correlation with a larger dilution tunnel.

        It is important to reduce Smoke and NO_(x) which are a serious problem in the Diesel Engine. Thus, many studies for this problem have been performed. In this study, in order to obtain the information for the influence of inlet humidity on the combustion in the Diesel Engine, Combustion Characters, Engine Performace and Exhast gas emissions are analyzed experimentally.

      • 무리말뚝의 수평하중분담에 관한 실험적 연구

        Load distribution in group piles is an important matter of consequence for the safe design and the economical design. In the group piles, the model tests were to investigate the effects on spacing-to-diameter ratio of pile, number of piles and arrangement of the pile. The tops of pile were all set to rotate freely. This paper considered the load distribution by the location of the pile as compared the behavior of group piles with single pile. For a three row pile group at 3D spacing, the measured individual row distributions were 35~38%(lead), 32∼34%(middle) and 27∼30%(tail). This results were compared very favorably to those by McVay et al(1995). The shadowing effect for the parallel direction of lateral loading appears to be more significant than the one for the perpendicular direction of lateral loading.

        The engine output and particulate emission are influenced by inlet air humidity. This study is concerned with the engine output and particulate emission on the inlet air humidity. The engine performance was analized to P-θ diagram, the rate of pressure rised, the rate of heat release, and the rate of mass burned by means of combustion analysis system. The particulate emission measurement is made by mini-dilution tunnel system. Consequently, this study showes the qualitative relationship between the engine output or particulate emission and the inlet air humidity.

      • ω-피리딜 알켄산의 형태와 활성간의 상관관계

        Molecular mechanics and conformation search methods were carried out to investigate the relationship between conformations and thromboxane synthetase inhibitory activities of w-pyridylalkenoic acids. The initial geometries of w-pyridylalkenoic acids and heme part of cytochrome P-450 were obtained from MM+ geometry optimization. The bond lengths and angles were not varied by step during the conformation searching. Stable conformers of some w-pyridylalkenoic acids were obtained by conformational search method. The distances were 8.5~10.8Å between N atom at 3-position of pyridine ring and C atom at carboxylic group of stable w-pyridylalkenoic acids. The conformations of w-pyridylalkenoic acids and heme part complex were determined by same method. In these structures, benzene ring and ethylene group in w-pyridylalkenoic acids are making the structure more rigid and increase inhibitory activity. The electron donating groups in C atom which is connected to pyridine ring also increase activity.

      • Pleurotus sp.를 이용한 Laccase의 생산

        The objective of this study is to investigate optimum condition for laccase production. The white rot fungi Pleurotus sp. and Schizophillum sp. were studied for their abilities to produce laccase. Pleurotus sp. was proven to be excellent in producing lignin peroxidase with high specific activity. The optimum pH, agitation speed, 2,5-xylidine concentration, and temperature conditions for laccase production by Pleurotus sp. were pH 4.5, 200 rpm, 1.0 mM, and 25℃, respectively. For nitrogen sources, ammonium tartrate was good for laccase production, while 0.4% ammonium tartrate concentration showed the highest potential for laccase production. The maximum laccase activity in shaking-flask batch culture were 1,500 U/L. the maximum laccase activity in jar-fermenter culture were 1,700 U/L.

        We can classify the period of Korean formal verse, Sijo, from the reign of Taejo to that of myo˘ngchong of Choso˘n as a developing period in the history of Sijo, which includes in the early days of Choso˘n. Surveying Sijo of this period, we can find the poet such as Maeng Sa-sung and Hwang Hui singing of the tranquility in rivers and lakes and the glorious reign for perfect peace. And Byon Gye-rang and Chong Do-chon are famous as persons praising and blessing the foundation of Choso˘n and King`s longevity. Kim Jong -su and Nam Li are proninant in reciting patriotism and the grand temper of a heroic man. Song Sam-mun, Park P`aeng-nyon, Ha Wi-chi, Li Gae, Yu Song-won, Yu Ung-bu, Kim Shi-su˘b, Won Ho, Wang Bang-nyon and so on, they satirized Sejo`s usurpating crown in poema (Sijo). Li T`oe-gae and Hwang Chin-i, expressing in poems the study for virtue, the adoration of nature, and the humaness in abundance and sighing the transient life, won a monumental accoplishment in Korean poetic literature.

      • 휘발성유기화합물(VOCs)의 변이원성 검정

        The mutagenicity of six kinds of VOCs(benzene, m.p-xylene, chloroform, toluene, methylethylketone, 1,2-dichloroethane) detected in high concentration and frequency in Kwangyang Bay was investigated. VOCs are water-insoluble and volatile. Therefore, when they are tested by the classical Ames test in the assay of mutagenicity, there may be experimental errors. To overcome this limitation, modified Ames test was used to assay mutagenicity of VOCs. By this modified Ames test, we could obtain much more satisfactory results. Even at extremely low concentration(0.0001㎍/㎖). bezene, m,p-xylene, and methylethylketone showed a weak mutagenicity. When S-9 mixture is added in the assay system, all tested VOCs except methylethylketone showed mutagenicity. When Salmonclla typhimurium TA 98 and Salmonella typhimurium TA 100 are exposed to VOCs of high concentration(100㎍/㎖). the number of colony decreased irrespective of the S-9 mixture treatment. It seem to be that the decrement results from the toxic effect of high concentration of VOCs.
