        Fiber Bragg grating(FBG) has become a key passive device for applications in fiber-optic communications. It also has a great potential in a wide range of sensing applications for the measurement of strain, temperature, pressure, etc. In this paper, we report experimental results on a temperature/strain sensor composed of a bare FBG and a solder-clad FBG connected in cascade. Since the Bragg wavelength of the solder-clad FBG does not change with strain and its sensitivity is four times as large as that of the bare FBG up to 110℃, it was used to measure temperature. On the other hand, strain information was obtained from the reflection wavelength difference between the two FBGs.

      • 腦卒中後 腦萎縮에 대한 調經論的 接近

        Objective : The aim of this study was to investigate the neuroprotection effect of estrogen on brain atrophy following cerebral infarction. Method : All animals in this study were classified into 4 groups; ovariectomy group (OVXgroup), cerebral infarction group (INF group), combination ovariectomy and cerebral infarction group ( OVX + INF group), and naturally intact group for control data (NOR group ). Cerebral infarction was made by Chen's method with some modification. Ovariectomy was performed by Wayforth's method. Experimental data for each group was collected at 15days, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months after starting observation. Serum 17β-estradiol(E2) was determined by radioimmunoassay. Brain volume was measured and calculated with image analysis. Each brain was sliced at intervals of 2mm in chamber after 30 min of freezing in refregerater. Cerebral volume was obtained by sum of volume of each slice level, which was mean area × 2mm. Results : Cerebral ischemia was fou8nd to decrease the serum concentration of 17β-estradiol and to inhibit the physiologically conpensatary function of the ovariectomized rats. Also we found that deprivation of estrogen have resulted in more severe cerebral atrophy followed by cerebral infarction. Conclusion : It is suggested that estrogen has a neuroprotection effect on cerebral atrophy following cerebral infarction.(J Korean Oriental Med 2000;21(4):9-15)

      • 환경시료로부터 미량 페놀류의 분석을 위한 isoButoxycarbonyl 유도체화 분석방법 적용 및 최적화

        Eleven phenols including two chlorophenols, eight alkylphenols and bisphenol A were derivatized with isobutylchlomformate to form their isobutoxycarbonyl derivatives. Standard phenol mixture was concentrated for the isebutoxycarbonyl (isoBOC) derivatization and analysed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The recoveries of the derivatization method of alkylphenols, chlorophenols, and bisphenol A were calculated by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry -selected ion monitoring mode using two work-up methods for comparison; shaking and heating method. The linear detector responses were obtained in the concentration range of 5 -400 ng, with correlation coefficients varying from 0.9755-0,9981. Recoveries of the alkylphenols, chlorophenols, and bisphenol A were determined by gas chromatography /mass spectrometry -selected ion monitoring mode using two work-up methods for comparison; the US-EPA method and the isoBOC derivatization method. Eleven phenols in water samples were extracted with dichloromethane and then concentrated. Also, solid-phase extraction (SPE) with XAD-4 and subsequent conversion to isobutoxymbony derivatives for sensitive analysis with the selected ion-monitoring (SIM) mode. The recoveries were 85.1~109.9% and 90.3~126.6% for the US-EPA method and the isoBOC derivatization method, respectively. The method detection limits of bisphenol A for SIM were 0.732 ㎍/ℓ and 0.002 ㎍/ℓ for the two methods above, respectively.

      • 消癌去痰益氣湯의 cyclophosphamide 부작용 형성 억제효과

        Object : It is well known that modern chemotherapy against cancer has side effcts to a living body, especially hemopoietic and immunologial disfunctions. However, there are no effctive ways to reduce them.Recently, traditonal Korean herb medicine has been repoted to have some biological modifying responses. Therefore, we hypothesized that additional application of herb medicine during chemotherapy is more effective to reduce its side effects. While we were studying the effects, we have observed the inhibitory effect of Soamgudamikgitang on formation of side effects derived from Cyclophosphamide, it has been used in clinical practice at Kyung Hee Medicd Center.Methods : We injected 200㎎/㎏ of Cyclophosphamide, one time, to an experimental group, consisting of ten mice. We divided them into eight groups: normal, CPX, SAKT 2㎎, SAKT 10㎎, SAKT 50㎎, SAKI 2㎎+CPX, SAKT 10㎎+CPX, SAKT 50㎎+CPX. We injeted Soamgudamikgitang seven days, five days, three days, and one day before we injected CPX. One day, three days, and five days after CPX injection, we injected Soamgudamikgitang again and then killed all the mice.The parameters determined in this experiment were daily body weight liver and spleen weight, RBC, WBC, and platelet for hemopoietic dysfunction and AST, ALT for hepatotoxicity, BUN, creatine for renal toxcity, Iymphocyte proliferation activity and lymphocyte subsets for immunological toxvity.Results : We have found that Soamgdamikgitang has inhibitory effects on the formation of Cyclophosphamide 's side effects. Significant differences between the group, which contained Cyclophosphamide, and the other group, which contains Cyclophosphamide and 2, 10, 50㎎ of Soamgudamikgitang respectively were observed. Platelets(2㎎ of Soamgudamikgitang, p<O.05 ;10㎎, p<0.Ol ;50㎎, p<0.001), liver weight(SOw p.001), spieen weight(10mg, p<0.05), AST(all groups, p<0.01), ALT(2㎎, p<001 ;10㎎, p<O.05 ;50㎎, p<0.01), BUN(2㎎, p<0.01 ;50㎎, p<0.05). Althought immunological in both lymphocyte proliferation and its subsets were not observed, which shows that Soamgudamikgilang has a strong effect on T cell activities Conclusions : From the above results, we can expect that the combined therapy of Soamgudamikgitang and Cyclophosphamide is more effective for treating cancer Patients.

Although the use of structure components and the transparent materials of contemporary architecture resembles that of Modernism, it shows distinct ideas and structural solutions. This study recognizes the lightness in architecture as a phenomenon an understands, following results from an analysis of philosophical, cultural, and architectural meanings and trends within the architectural realm that are advocated by such phenomenon, that the future trends of architecture will deal with mobility, fluidity, and the loss of historical identity that are uncontrollable by the certainty and fixed vision of Modern architecture.

      • 인공제오라이트 제립화에 의한 토양의 질산태질소 억제효과에 관한 연구

        The effects of alkali treatment to fly ash powder coming in to being artificial zeolite were soil chemical investigated by amount of treat and during on days There was no significant difference in chemical properties between artificial zeolite and particle artificial zeolite. pH and EC value in treatments soils were high known by application with fly ash and artificial zeolite of amount increased. The amount of Av.P_(2)O_(5) adsorption capacity with artificial zeolite known higher than fly ash. In the case of amount of Ex-K, Ca, Mg were detect range between artificial zeolite and particle artificial zeolite. Artificial zeolite application with treatments in soils showed being contrary to each NH_(4)-N other NO_(3)-N for content therefore it is clear that application of particle artificial zeolite product should be more effective than of the artificial zeolite powder for soil condition.

      • 유기물, 제오라이트 및 부산물(패각, 석고)의 비료화에 관한 연구

        1. 토양 pH값이 무처리구와 관행구에서 비하여 유기물+제오라이트+패각+석고 처리구에서 다소 높은 경향이었으며, 석고 처리량이 많은 구에서는 증가폭이 높지 않았다. 2. 토양의 유기물함량은 유기질비료 혼합 비율이 높아짐에 따라 증가하였지만 구간별 증가폭의 수준은 불규칙하였다. 3. 치환성칼리, 마그네슘 함량은 처리구간에 따른 증가수준은, 높지 않았지만 대체적으로 무처리구와 관행구에 비하여, 증가하였으며, 제오라이트 혼합 비율과 밀접한 관계가 있었다. 4. 치환성칼슘, 유효황 함량은 석고의 처리량이 증가함에 따라 높은 함량을 보였으며, 처리량과 치환성칼슘 함량간에는 고도의 유의성을 나타났다. 5. 제오라이트의 처리량이 높일수록 유기물+제오라이트+패각+석고 전 처리구에서 암모니아태질소 함량은 증가하는 반면, 질산태질소 함량은 감소하는 경향이었다. 6. 생육시기별 처리구간에 따른 배추 황과 칼슘함량 변화는 토양의 석고처리량과 밀접한 관계가 있었으며, 고도의 유의성을 보였다. 7. 제오라이트 처리비율이 높아짐에 따라 배추의 질산태질소 함량은 감소하였으며, 감소폭은 고도의 유의성을 보였다. In order to evaluate the evaluate the utility of organic fertilizer, zeolite, oyster and gypsum as soil amendments, chinese cabbage was protected cultivated on sandy loam soils The results were summaries as follow: 1. pH of soils was trend of high such as organic fertilizer+zeolite+oyster+gypsum than none and control of treatments, but amount of gypsum treatment in soil according to increased of mixture ratio was a few low 2. The amount of O.M in soils were a few increased by mixture ratio of organic fertilizer. 3. The amount of Ex-K, Ca in soil were trend of a few increased in related to soil improvement of zeolite treatment ratio 4. In the case of amount of Ex-Ca, Av.SO_(4) in soil showed increased with gypsum treatment ratio and it showed mean of height relationship. 5. The improvement of treatments in soil were trend of increased amount of NH4-N but it showed decreased amount of NO_(3)-N than none, control of treatments 6. The amount of Ca, S in chinese cabbage of improvement treatments were close related to gypsum treatment ratio in soil and these showed height relationship 7. The amount of NO_(3)-N in chinese cabbage leaves of improvements were close related to zeolite treatment ratio in soil and these showed height relationship.

      • The Chromaticity Estimation of Illuminant based on Camera Control Characteristics of CMOS Image Sensor

        This article presents a method for estimating the illuminant chromaticity using image processing characteristics of CIS (CMOS image sensor). A CIS for a use of colorimeter is characterized based on the standard colorimetric observer and its characterization matrix can be easily derived by least squares polynomial modeling. Proposed illuminant estimation is based on relation between illuminant change and camera control characteristics, which automatically adjust adaptive variations under various environments.
