      • NaCl에 대한 콩 품종간의 생리학적 반응 차이

        염분조건에서 콩의 피해정도 또는 피해과정 등 생리적 특성과 내성 및 감수성 품종간의 반응차이를 구명하여 내염성 연구의 기초자료로 활용하고자 본 연구를 수행하였다. 감수성 및 내성 품종으로 선발된 두 품종간에 60mM의 염분처리에 따른 생장 및 상대생장율 반응, 잎의 해부학적 관찰, 광합성 및 호흡량, proline 축적 및 nitrate reductase와 peroxidase 활성 등의 반응특성을 비교한 바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 내성품종 Lee는 무염처리에 비해 초장이 19% 감소한데 반해 감수성 품종 Jackson은 40% 감소하여 뚜렷한 차이를 보였다. 다육질의 정도는 내성품종이 무처리에 비해 58% 증가하였으나 감수성 품종은 오히려 21%가 감소하였고 감수성 품종의 생체중, 건물증, 수분함량의 감소가 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 상대생장율(RGR)과 순동화율(NAR)의 경우 내성품종은 염분처리에 의해 오히려 증가한 경향이었으나 총 건물증에 대한 엽면적 비율(LAR)과 개체생장율(CGR)은 감소하였다. 한편 감수성 품종은 조사된 모든 생장율이 감소하는 경향이 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 염분처리로 잎의 두께는 내성품종이 11% 증가한 반면 감수성 품종은 30% 정도 감소되었는데 이는 다즙질화로 인한 엽육세포의 두께 변화와 관련이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 광합성 정도는 내성품종에서 무처리와 유사하였으나 감수성 품종은 무처리에 비해 14% 감소하였고 호흡량에 있어서는 두 품종 모두 증가되어 각각 11과 8% 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며 두 품종 모두 O2생산비율보다 O2소모비율이 높게 나타났다. 염분처리에 따른 proline 축적량은 무처리에 대비하여 내성품종은 64% 증가하였으나 감수성 품종은 200% 증가하였다. Nitrate reductase의 활성은 염분처리로 인해 내성 품종이 114% 증가하는 반면 감수성 품종은 반대로 37% 감소하였으며 peroxidae 활성은 내서 및 감수성 품종 모두 각각 56, 50% 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 이상의 결과로 보아 지상부의 생육, 상대생장율, 엽육세포의 두께, 광합성 및 호흡량, proline 축적량, nitrate reductase와 peroxidase활성은 콩의 염해 및 내염성 연구에 중요한 지표가 될 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. Salt tolerance of soybean is highly dependent on cultivar as well as cultural condition. The objective of this study was to determine difference in parameters of physiological responses between NaCl-tolerant and NaCl-susceptible cultivars selected from a bioassay. Tolerant cultivar "Lee" and susceptible cultivar 'Jackson' soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) cultivars were grown in hydroponic system and treated with NaCl solutions of 0 and 60mM, corresponding to electric conductivity of 1.2 and 7.3 dS/m, respectively, 20days after emergence. NaCl at 60mM inhibited plant lengths of tolerant and susceptible soybean cultivars by 19% and 40%, respectively. NaCl enhanced leaf succulence of tolerant cultivar by 58%. while it decreased that of susceptible cultivar by 21%. With NaCl treatment, fresh and dry weight, and water content of leaves in susceptible cultivar were more decreased than those of tolerant cultivar. Relative growth rate (RGR) and net assimilation rate (NAR) of tolerant cultivar were increased by NaCl treatment, while RGR and NAR of susceptible cultivar were clearly reduced. Total leaf thickness of tolerant soybean cultivar was significantly enhanced up to 11% by NaCl treatment due to expanding mesophyll cells. However. NaCl reduced leaf thickness of susceptible cultivar by 30 8. Photosynthesis rate of tolerant cultivar by NaCl treatment was not affected, however that of susceptible cultivar was reduced by 14% as compared to control. Respiration of both cultivars was increased up to 11 and 8%, respectively. Free-proline content of leaf by NaCl treatment was increased by 64% in the tolerant cultivar and 200% in the susceptible. respectively. NaCl of 60 mM also increased nitrate reductase and peroxidase activities of tolerant cultivar by 114% and 56%. respectively, while it reduced nitrate reductase activity of susceptible cultivar by 37%. The results suggested that the physiological data can use as parameters for salt stress or salt tolerance test to improve sensitivity in screening program.

      • 악성흑색종과 양성멜라닌세포성모반에서 bcl-2 단백발현에 관한 면역조직화학적 연구

        Background: The bcl-2 protein, contrast to p53, has been shown to be suppress the apoptosis, and overexpression of the bcl-2 protein has been reported in several malignant tumors. Although how the bcl-2 protein takes part in tumorigenesis has not been proved, the bcl-2 positive tumors appeared to have good prognosis in some malignant tumors. The expression pattern of the bcl-2 in melanocytic nevi and malignant melanoma have not been well known. The authors analyzed immunohistochemically expression of the bcl-2 protein to investigate the role of the bcl-2 protein in developing malignant melanoma. Method: 10 malignant melanoma and 10 benign melanocytic nevi were immunostained with anti-bcl-2 monoclonal antibody. Results: In malignant melanoma, 1 case was 2+ positive, 9 cases were 3+ positive. In benign melanocytic nevi, 2 cases were 2+ positive, 8 cases were 3+ positive. Conclusion: Bcl-2 protein is expressed by benign melanocytic nevi and malignant melanoma. There is no difference of bcl-2 protein expression in melanocytic nevi and malignant melanoma.

        Ignition devices used in electric ignition engine supply electric sparks with the air-fuel mixture intake into the cylinder and compressed, at the optimal time and enable the mixture to ignite and explode. It is critical, therefore, that the ignition energy be changed into more inflammable type, identifying constructions of the ignition energy and factors affecting on the inflammation by the energy. In order to accomplish this, CDI, SIS and MIS based upon the DLI system, in which high level ignition energy is supplied for the ignition plug directly from the ignition coil, have been developed and manufactured.

      • PVA 복합체의 표면성분과 구조-PVA/붕사 필름

        PVA와 붕사 복합체의 표면성분과 구조를 규명하기 위해서 이의 복합체를 공기중에서 Film을 제조하여 XPS를 측정했고, 수용액 상태에서 ¹H-NMR을 측정했다. 이들의 분석결과 Film표면에 C,O,B의 성분을 밝혔고, B(OH)-group과 수산기의 강한 결합을 확인했다. Surface composition and structure of PVA/Borax films were investigated with XPS and the bulk content was measured with ¹H-neuclear Magnetic Resornance spectrometry(¹H-NMR). From this results, it is possible to calculate of carbon, oxygen and boron and showed hydroxyl bonding.

      • 상피세포 종양에서 bcl-2 표출에 관한 연구

        Background : The bc1-2 protein, contrast to p53, has been shown to be suppress the apoptosis, and overexpression of the bc1-2 protein has been reported in several malignant tumors. Although how the bc1-2 protein takes part in tumorgenesis has not been proved, the bc1-2 positive tumors appeared to have good prognosis in some malignant tumors. The expression pattern of the bc1-2 in keratinocyte originated skin tumors have not been well known. The authors analyzed immunohistochemically expression of the bc1-2 protein to invastigate the role of the bc1-2 protein in developing skin tumors. Method : 21 squamous cell carcinoma, 19 basal cell carcinoma, 9 keratoacanthoma 11 seborrehic keratosis and 9 Bowen's disease were immunostained with anti-bc1-2 monoclonal antibody. Results : 1. The bc1-2 negative reactions were seen in all cases of sqaumous cell carcinoma, keratoacanthoma and Bowen's disease. The basal layer in keratoacanthoma and Bowen's disease shown to be intense positive reaction in bc1-2, whch suggested of the protected barrier function from tumor cell invasion into the dermis. 2. The bc1-2 were positive in all basal cell carcinoma. 3. In seborreheic keratosis, 9 cases were negative and 2 cases were positive. The positive cases appeared to be resulted from invagination of the basal cells in the epidermis. Conclusion : The bc1-2 protein did not appear to express in full matures cell, but positive reaction are seen in proliferating activity cells. The bc1-2 positive cells are rahter not abnormal cells than have function of protection of tumor cell proliferation by the prolongation of survival time normal cell.

      • Halothane 마취중 Vecuronium과 Pancuronium 투여가 심혈관계 및 회복시간에 미치는 영향

        This study was taken to abserve the effect on cardiovascular response and recovery time with pancuronium and vecuronium. The patients was composed of 20 healthly both sex adults who belong to class I of ASA physical status. Vecuronium 0.1mg/kg(N=10) and pancuronium 0.1mg/kg(N=10) was injected independently at 20 minutes after intubation by succinylcholine 1mg/kg and thiopental sodium. The results were as follow. 1. There were not a significant difference in arterial blood pressure and pulse rate before and after vecuronium injection. 2. After pancuronium administration, arterial blood pressure was not significant change but pulse rate showed significant increasing. 3. In the recovery time when T_1 was recovered to 25% after administration of muscle relaxants respectively, there were 26±7.2 min, vecuronium and 67±11.2 min, in pancuronium. 3. EKG was not change before and after vecuronium.

        개량된 초임계수 산화법에 의한 염소계 유기물 (PCB, 4-DCBz)의 완전분해반응

        For the destruction of toxic chlorinated organic compounds, this study proposes improved supercritical water oxidation method (multistep oxidation) using sodium nitrate as an oxidizer. This method solves the problems involved in the existing supercritical water oxidation method. Multistep oxidation means that NaNO₃ is oxidized to N₂ via NaNO₂ and NO. Toxic and hard to destroy organic substances like para-dichlorobenzen(4-DCBz), polychlorinate biphenyl(PCB) ware oxidized to non toxic substances in a condition, in which rapid pressure and temperature rise is restrained as much as possible. 4-dichlorobenzene(4-DCBz) and Polychlorinate biphenyl(PCB) in condition(450℃, p_(w)=0.25g/cm³, 30min) Was discomposed perfectly.

        Association between Homocysteine Levels and Psoriasis: A Meta-Analysis

        Background: Psoriasis is a multifactorial disease associated with an increased risk for metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular diseases. Elevated levels of homocysteine (Hcy) are a marker of cardiovascular risk. Several studies have evaluated the associations between psoriasis and Hcy levels; however, the results remain inconclusive. Objective: We performed a systematic review of the literature and a meta-analysis to better understand the relationship between psoriasis and Hcy. Methods: Five scientific databases (MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane Library, Scopus, and Web of Science) were searched to identify relevant studies. A review of 307 publications identified 16 studies that directly assessed plasma levels of Hcy in psoriasis patients. Results: A total of 16 studies including 2,091 subjects were included in the meta-analysis. Hcy levels were significantly higher in psoriasis patients relative to healthy controls (weighted mean difference [WMD], 3.30; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.58∼ 5.02; I2=82.1%). Subgroup analyses revealed that patients with higher mean psoriasis area severity index (PASI) scores (PASI>10) had significantly higher Hcy levels compared to healthy controls (WMD, 4.17; 95% CI, 1.18∼7.16; I2=88.3%), whereas patients with lower mean PASI scores (PASI ≤10) had not (WMD, 0.76; 95% CI, -1.84∼3.35; I2=72.2%). Conclusion: This meta-analysis found that psoriasis patients, in particular those with PASI >10, had significantly higher Hcy levels compared to healthy controls. Further research is needed to determine the association between Hcy levels and psoriasis severity. (Ann Dermatol 31(4) 378∼386, 2019)

        Increased Prevalence of Left-sided Skin Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

        Background: Based on trends demonstrated in the United States, a very insignificant number of people have shown a predisposition to left-sided skin cancer. However, to date, no systematic review or meta-analysis has demonstrated the predominance of left-sided skin cancers over right- sided skin malignancies. Objective: We systematically reviewed and meta-analyzed all data pertaining to locations of skin cancers. Methods: All data were pooled using the Mantel-Haenszel method (random-effects weighting); an inverse variance model featuring fixed-effects weighting was applied to explore the robustness of modeling. Heterogeneity was evaluated using the I2 test. Dichotomous outcomes with respect to the prevalence of left- and right-sided skin cancers are presented as relative risks (RRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results: Nine studies were included in our evaluation. Our study sample included: 182,840 patients with malignant melanoma (MM), 1,419 patients with basal cell carcinoma (BCC), and 331 patients with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Meta-analyses of pooled observational data revealed greater prevalence of left-sided MM compared to right-sided MM (RR 0.91, 95% CI 0.89∼0.92, p<0.01), while left-sided SCC was more prevalent than right-sided SCC (RR 0.83, 95% CI 0.71∼0.97, p=0.02). However, right-sided BCC was more prevalent than left-sided BCC (RR 1.07, 95% CI 0.95∼1.19, p=0.26). Conclusion: Observational studies vary greatly in terms of design, methodological quality, and types of patients studied. Of note, only a few studies analyzing BCC and SCC were included in our present meta-analysis. Additionally, a selection and reporting bias could have affected our results. Our meta-analysis suggests that both MM and SCC demonstrate a left-side bias, but BCC does not. (Korean J Dermatol 2017;55(6):337∼345)

        Case Reports : S-1 Monotherapy as a Neoadjuvant Treatment for Locally Advanced Gastric Cancer

        S-1, a novel oral fluoropyrimidine, is an effective therapeutic agent for gastric cancer. Herein, we report a case with locally advanced gastric cancer that achieved a curative resection after S-1 monotherapy as neoadjuvant treatment. A 68-year-old man was diagnosed with gastric cancer and massive lymphadenopathy involving the perigastric, celiac axis and splenic hilum. His clinical stage was cT3N2H0P0M0. Considering his relatively poor performance (ECOG 2, severe weight loss) and advanced age, we started the patient on S-1 monotherapy at a dose of 35 mg/m2 bid for 4 consecutive weeks followed by a 2-week rest. Follow-up study after 4 treatment cycles revealed disappearance of the lymphadenopathy of the perigastric and celiac axis with diminished extension of the stomach mass. The patient had a partial response (PR) with a 72% tumor reduction, according to the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST). His performance status was improved to an ECOG 1 and he gained 7 kg. A curative (R0) resection was achieved with a radical total gastrectomy and D2 dissection. The pathological stage was pT3N2M0, stage IIIB. In conclusion, S-1 neoadjuvant chemotherapy aided in the treatment of gastric cancer in this patient.
