        Effects of Phenytoin and Diazepam on the Seizure Activity in the Cortical Dysplasia Animal Models

        Dysplasia-associated seizure disorders are markedly resistant to pharmacological intervention. Relatively little research has been conducted studying the effects of antiepileptic drugs(AEDs) on seizure activity in a rat model of dysplasia. We have used rats exposed to methylazoxymethanol acetate(MAM) in utero, an animal model featuring nodular heterotopia, to investigate the effects of AEDs in the dysplastic brain. Pilocarpine was used to induce acute seizure in MAM-exposed and age-matched vehicle-injucted control animals. Field potential recordings were used to monitor amplitude and numbers population spikes, and paired pulse inhibition in response to stimulation of commissural pathway. Two commonly used AEDs were tested: diazepam 5, 2.5mg/kg;phenytoin 40, 60mg/kg. Diazepam(DZP) and phenytoin(PHT) reduced the amplitude of population spike in control and MAM-exposed rats. However, the amplitude of population spike was nearly eliminated in control rats as compared to the MAM-exposed rats. Pharmaco-resistance was tested by measuring seizure latencies in awake rats after pilocarpine administration(320mg/kg, i.p.) with and without pretreatment with AEDs. Pre-treatment with PHT 60 mg prolonged seizure latency in control rats, but not in MAM-exposed animals. The main findings of this study are that acute seizures initiated in MAM-exposed rats are relatively resistant to standard AEDs assessed in vivo. These data suggest that animal model with cortical dysplasia can be used to screen the effects of potential AEDs.

      • 석탄회를 활용한 콘크리트의 성능에 관한 연구

        석탄화력발전과정이 부산물인 석탄회가 사용석탄량의 11∼57%로 생성됨에 따라 이의 처리비용 및 환경보전적 측면에서의 많은 문제점이 야기되고 있어 석탄회의 유효이용에 관한 연구가 절실하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 석탄회를 콘크리트 혼화재로 재활용하기 위한 방안을 강구하고자 석탄회의 발생과정 및 종류, 물리적 및 화학적 특성, 재활용 현황등을 파악하고, 석탄회의 배합혼입률에 따른 콘크리트 재령별 압축강도 특성에 대한 실험연구를 수행하였다. During combustion of powdered coal in modern power plant, coal ash is produced by 11∼57% of resource coal. The coal ash requires a great deal of disposal expense and causes a number of probrems in environmental conservation. It is necessary that researches for utilization of fly ash are required as soon as possible. The goal of this study are to develop a methodology for the utilization of fly ash as a mineral admixture in concrete. This paper presents the performance of concrete using fly ash. Results of the experimental study indicates that fly ash concrete tend to reduce the early compressive strength up to 28 days, but improve the long term compressive strength.

        The type printing of first Ch'ing dynasty term in China is worthy to be studied because the type printing during that period included metal type, wood type, and clay type as well as the development phase was similar to Chosun dynasty culturally and technologically. This paper studied typography during the first Ch'ing dynasty term, including Shunzhi(1662-1722), Yongaheng(1723-1735), Qianlong(1736-1795), Jiaqing(1796-1820) period. The main results of the study is as follows. 1. The main body of type printing was bookstore, lecture-hall, and individual as well as the royal court that is the centarl government. 2. The content of type edition covers classics, history, philosophy, and literary works. Specifically, even though Wuyingdienjuzhenban series is excluded, the content includes study of the classics, class of the history, class of the philosophy, literature works that include collection works and novel and government official bulletin. 3. The printing technique of bronze type was very popular in Beijing. Jiangsu, and Taiwan. It's scale and production technique was more elaborate than in Ming dynasty. 4. Wood type was very popular in Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Sichuan, and Fujian. In addition to wood type, chinese ware type was applied to book printing in Shandong, However, most of them were wood type and they were used after Qianlong period. 5. The production technique of type was skilled enough to present the fine view of a style of type. The typesetting technique was improved as much as woodblock printing. With regard to the making technology of Chinese ink, the light and darkness of chinese ink was not even sometimes. But, the technology was improved significantly when comparing with the failure experience of printing that chinese ink was not developed in early type invention. 6. In case that the book was printed in bookstore with the intention of profit and the number of book was large, the proofreading attitude was rough. However, overally, it was made correction carefully applying the various methods of proofreading. 7. The support of government made a great contribution in the area of all printing technology, including production, typesetting, and brushing of type

      • 산업자본재 자산의 가치평가에 있어 신뢰도 함수의 적용

        Box-Cox model by HuIten and Wykoff and T-factor method by Elfar and Whelan, adopted the assumptions of the characteristics of capital assets, and are still widely used today even though their assumptions were weak. We improve the Box-Cox model by combining the existing economic efficiency and depreciation pattern, based on the efficiency curve of marginal productivity and reliability function. Thus, Rayleigh curve which has been used for the reliability of current capital assets was chosen as m efficiency curve. As a result, it was possible to classify the efficiency curves into 4 kinds rather than the existing 3, as well as the types of depreciation curves. In this paper, therefore, the power family of the Box-Cox model which was a non-linear regression model would be identified, by utilizing the reliability functions. In addition, Box-Cox model as a linear model to measure economic depredations. Based on these result it is easy to estimate economic depreciations as well as to test depreciation rates.

        A thermal imaging system has been developed to measure the temperature on surface, using non-contact temperature sensor. Also, the developed system can monitor the temperature based on Zigbee communication for ubiquitous sensor network. The measurement of temperature was performed on the pot plant depending on the moving speed of frame. The optimal speed for frame movement was 1.4 m/ s. The developed system might provide as a basic study which predict the location of crops according to the difference of temperature between soil and crop.

In process, we know that a statistical control-in is identified with a process of random variables being independently and identically distributedriid). It IS often difficult in practice to attain a statistical control-in because of systematic time series effects like autocorrelation. When the data are autocorrelated In a process, as the diagnosis, we can use ARIMA procedure. In this thesis, a procedure is introduced to diagnose and identify a statistical control-in/out using ARIMA.

      • 녹동균 세포외막 단백질 백신 CFC-1-101의 안정성 및 면역원성 검토 : 임상 제 Ⅰ/Ⅱa상 시험

        목적 : 제일제당에서는 녹농균의 세포외막 단밸질을 유효성분으로 하는 백신인 CFC-101을 개발하였으며, 동물시험에서 이 백신의 안전성과 유효성을 입증하였다. 본 연구에서는 이 녹농균 백신의 인체에 대한 안전성과 면역원성을 평가하는 동시에 인체 접종시의 최적 투여 용량을 결정하기 위하여 제 I/Ⅱa상 임상시험을 수행하였다. 방법 : 건강한 성인 남자를 피험자로 선별하여 각 용량군에 백신투여자 6명, 위약투여자 2명을 배정하였다. 백신 투여군은 0.25mg, 0.5mg 또는 1.0mg 용량의 녹농균 백신을 7일 간격으로 3회에 걸쳐 근육주사 하였으며, 위약 투여군에게는 세포외막 단백질을 제외한 동일한 성분을 투여하였다. 백신접종 후 국소적 또는 전신적인 반응의 발생여부를 관찰하고, 혈액시료를 체취하여 백신의 역가와 유효성을 검정하였다. 결과 : 녹농균 백신 CFC-101은 모든 접종자에서 양호한 내약성을 보였다. 또한 0.5mg 과 1.0mg 백신 투여군에서는 100%의 항체양전율을 나타내었다. 생성된 항체는 녹농균 세포외막단백질에 특이성을 보였고, 녹농균 감염에 대해 방어효능이 있었다. 결론 : 이와같은 결과로부터 이 녹농균 백신은 인체에 안전하게 투여할 수 있으며, 높은 항체 생성능으로 감염방어 효능을 보이고 0.5mg과 1.0mg이 최적용량인 것으로 판단되었다. Background : We developed a Pseudomonas aeruginosa outer membrane protein(OMP) vaccine CFC-101, and the prophylactic efficacy of which has been demonstrated in animal models. In order to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of the P. aeruginosa vaccine, we carried out a phase I/Ⅱa clinical trial in healthy male volunteers. Methods : Groups of eight volunteers, including two placebo subjects, were vaccinated intramuscularly with three doses of 0.25, 0.5 or 1.0 mg of the vaccine at one week intervals. Sings of systemic and local reactions observed after vaccination were recorded for each vaccinee for 5 days. Physical examinations were performed on days 0, 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, and 42, and clinical laboratory tests were done on days 0, 3, and 21. Blood samples for assay of serum antibody levels were obtained up to 42 days after the first vaccination. Results : The vaccine was generally well tolerated by all vaccinees, showing no significant side effects. In the three dosage groups, all vaccinees, except one receiving the 0.25 mg dose, showed significant elevation in serum IgG antibody titers against the vaccine proteins, indicating 100% seroconversion in 0.5 and 1.0 mg groups. The human antibodies induced by the vaccine were specific for P. aeruginosa OMPs, as confirmed by western blot analysis and immunoprecipitation assays. The capacity of the human antisera to enhance opsonophagocytic killing activity by polymorphonuclear leukocytes and to confer protection against P. aeruginosa infections indicates that the antibodies elicited by the vaccine have protective efficacy. Conclusion : We conclude that the P. aeruginosa OMP vaccine is safe and effective for human use and its optimal dose to be 0.5 or 1.0 mg.

      • 불안(각성)-경기수행 관계 이론에 대한 비판적 접근

        Relationship between arousal and athletic performance has been of central importance throughout the history of sportpsychology. Because these variables such as stress, arousal, and anxiety are associated with athletic performance. Therefore, many psychologiests referred to the arousal(anxiety)-performance relationship. Then, since the later 1990s, most sport psychologists have emphasized the nation that an optimal level of arousal is associated with best performance. Accordingly, the drive theory and inverted-U hypothesis have become a stable principle in both the academic and professional sport psychology literature. In recent years, however, most sport psychologists have emphasized the nation that anxiety is associated with best performance. According to the these current research status and directions, purpose of this study was focused on critical understanding and application about the arousal-anxiety-athletic performance relationship theories. Results of this study are as follows : First, many of the earlier theories have examined the arousal construct, whereas more recent theories were developed based on anxiety construct. Two relatively early theories that were proposed and tested in the sport and motor performance context were the drive theory and the inverted-U hypothesis. More recently, however, + additional theories have been advanced. That is, these include Hanins optimal zones of arousal hypothesis, multidimensional theory of anxiety, catastrophe theory,reversal theory, and so forth. Second, terms such as arousal, stress, drive, attention, activation, motivation, alertness, and anxiety have been used interchangebly, although numerous theoretical distinctions have been made among them. Accordingly We must resolve the inconsistent use of these-related terminology. Third, in general, internal reaction phenomena of human such as stress, anxiety, and emotion could be explained by arousal reactation. Becase these reactions are phenomena for maintenance of athletes' internal ho- meostasis. So, these reaction mechanisms must be deemed the same context as a- rousal phenomenon. In the results, we must try to control about athlete's emotional-physiolocal- psychological phenomenon and sports competition conditions in use of these theories.

      • 초고속 전송에 대한 Ultrashort Laser Pulse의 새로운 스펙트럼 분석

        본 논문에서는, Class-2 PRS 모델의 전달함수인 Raised-Cosine 펄스를 이용하여 극초단 레이저펄스의 전송특성을 분석하였다. 이는 Class-1 PRS 모델에서와 같이 부분응답시스템의 수정된 모델로부터 얻어지는 고차원펄스를 이용하여 그 차수의 증가에 따라 FWHM폭이 현저히 감소하여 분석하고자 하는 극초단펄스의 형태에 근접하는 펄스를 제시하였으며, 그 스펙트럼과 전송대역폭도 차수에 따라 일률적으로 유도되므로 Gaussian, Sech형태의 펄스 같은 고전적인 방법과는 달리 광범위하고 정확한 전송특성을 분석하는데 매우 유용함을 밝혔다. 먼저, 부분응답시스템의 일반적인 모델을 수정하여 어떤 형태의 고차원펄스도 적용할 수 있는 새로운 방법을 제안하였다. 그리고 제안된 모델을 이용하여 어떠한 형태의 FWHM을 가지는 극초단펄스의 전송에 대한 새로운 분석 방법을 제안하였다 제안된 방법을 사용하여, 설정 펄스 폭을 τ=1(㎰)으로 설정, 고차원펄스의 차수 n=1~100에서 얻어지는 FWHM 1(㎰)~100(fs)의 극초단펄스의 스펙트럼을 제시하였고, Class-2 PRS 모델의 FWHM 폭이 Class-1 PRS 모델보다는 차수 n에 따라서 약 50~100(fs)정도 좁은 FWHM 폭을 가짐을 밝혔다. 이에 대한 전송특성은 레이저펄스의 보편적인 신호방식인 Unipolar 체계로 설정하여, 가능한 펄스간격에 따른 PSD를 유도하여 제시하였다. 이러한 결과들은 고전적인 실험 방법과는 일치함을 물론 미래 극초단펄스 연구에 대한 혁신적인 방법으로 사용될 수 있을 것이다. In this paper, we analyze transmission characteristics of ultrashort laser pulses using the property of Raised-cosine pulse which are systematically obtained following Class-2 PRS model. The high-order pulses are easily derived from a modified PRS system model as Class-1 PRS model. This may be based on the fact that the spectra and bandwidths of the high-order pulses are beautifully related to their orders. And we make clear they are very useful to cover wider area and more accurate transmission characteristics of ultrashort pulses than Gaussian or Sech pulse approximations used conventionally. First modifying the generalized PRS system model, we propose a new model for deriving any type of high-order pulse. And we offer a novel analysis method of ultrashort pulse transmission which has any shape and FWHM, using the proposed model. In addition, by fixing the pulse range τ=1(㎰) and varying the order of the pulse from n=1 to n=100, we obtain spectra of ultrashort pulses with 1(㎰)~100(fs) FWHM's, and width of FWHM in the Class-2 PRS model 50~100(fs) smaller than Class-1 PRS model. As a one-step further, we derive PSD's of their pulse trains when they are applied to Unipolar signaling scheme. These PSD's are decided in the range of possible pulse intervals. All of these results are not only coincided with some conventional experimental works but also will be applied to any pioneering ultrashort pulse in the future.
