H∞ Control of 2-D Discrete State Delay Systems
Jianming Xu,Li Yu 대한전기학회 2006 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.4 No.4
This paper is concerned with the H∞ control problem of 2-D discrete state delay systems described by the Roesser model. The condition for the system to have a specified H∞ performance is derived via the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. Furthermore, a design procedure for H∞ state feedback controllers is given by solving a certain LMI. The design problem of optimal H∞ controllers is formulated as a convex optimization problem, which can be solved by existing convex optimization techniques. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.

This paper addresses the synthesis of an iterative learning controller for a class of linear systems with norm-bounded parameter uncertainties. We take into account an iterative learning algorithm with current cycle feedback in order to achieve both robust convergence and robust stability. The synthesis problem of the developed iterative learning control (ILC) system is reformulated as the γ-suboptimal H∞ control problem via the linear fractional transformation (LFT). A sufficient convergence condition of the ILC system is presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Furthermore, the ILC system with fast convergence rate is constructed using a convex optimization technique with LMI constraints. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The impacts of protein oxidation on the droplet size and microrheology properties of casein emulsions with 20% oil content were investigated. The degree of protein oxidation was indicated by carbonyl concentration. The droplets in the emulsions of different-oxidation-degree casein had bimodal distribution, but their size altered due to oxidation. The effects of protein oxidation on the morphology, motion type, viscoelasticity, and stability of droplets were also investigated by microrheology analysis. The droplet motion was blocked by protein oxidation due to mean square displacement slope results. Solid–liquid balance values provided the liquid behavior dominating these emulsions. Oxidation of carbonyl concentration 16.72 raised the primary droplets, increased the elasticity, decreased the viscosity, and promoted the droplet motion rate, resulting in better stability of emulsions. Further oxidation promoted the aggregation of droplets and resulted in poor stability.

Purpose Immunotherapy (IO) plus tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) has become the first-line treatment for advanced renal cell carcinoma, despite the lack of prognostic biomarkers. Cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (CDK5) affects the tumor microenvironment, which may influence the efficacy of TKI+IO. Materials and Methods Two cohorts from our center (Zhongshan Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma [ZS-MRCC] cohort, Zhongshan High-risk Localized Renal Cell Carcinoma [ZS-HRRCC] cohort) and one cohort from a clinical trial (JAVELIN-101) were enrolled. The expression of CDK5 of each sample was determined by RNA sequencing. Immune infiltration and T cell function were evaluated by flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry. Response and progression-free survival (PFS) were set as primary endpoints. Results Patients of low CDK5 expression showed higher objective response rate (60.0% vs. 23.3%) and longer PFS in both cohorts (ZS-MRCC cohort, p=0.014; JAVELIN-101 cohort, p=0.040). CDK5 expression was enhanced in non-responders (p < 0.05). In the ZS-HRRCC cohort, CDK5 was associated with decreased tumor-infiltrating CD8+ T cells, which was proved by immunohistochemistry (p < 0.05) and flow cytometry (Spearman’s ρ=–0.49, p < 0.001). In the high CDK5 subgroup, CD8+ T cells revealed a dysfunction phenotype with decreased granzyme B, and more regulatory T cells were identified. A predictive score was further constructed by random forest, involving CDK5 and T cell exhaustion features. The RFscore was also validated in both cohorts. By utilizing the model, more patients might be distinguished from the overall cohort. Additionally, only in the low RFscore did TKI+IO outperform TKI monotherapy. Conclusion High-CDK5 expression was associated with immunosuppression and TKI+IO resistance. RFscore based on CDK5 may be utilized as a biomarker to determine the optimal treatment strategy.

Background: Incretin impairment, characterized by insufficient secretion of L-cell-derived glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), is a defining step of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Ginsenoside compound K (CK) can stimulate GLP-1 secretion; however, the potential mechanism underlying this effect has not been established. Methods: CK (40 mg/kg) was administered orally to male db/db mice for 4 weeks. The body weight, oral glucose tolerance, GLP-1 secretion, gut microbiota sequencing, bile acid (BA) profiles, and BA synthesis markers of each subject were then analyzed. Moreover, TGR5 expression was evaluated by immunoblotting and immunofluorescence, and L-cell lineage markers involved in L-cell abundance were analyzed. Results: CK ameliorated obesity and impaired glucose tolerance in db/db mice by altering the gut microbiota, especially Ruminococcaceae family, and this changed microbe was positively correlated with secondary BA synthesis. Additionally, CK treatment resulted in the up-regulation of CYP7B1 and CYP27A1 and the down-regulation of CYP8B1, thereby shifting BA biosynthesis from the classical pathway to the alternative pathway. CK altered the BA pool by mainly increasing LCA and DCA. Furthermore, CK induced L-cell number expansion leading to enhanced GLP-1 release through TGR5 activation. These increases were supported by the upregulation of genes governing GLP-1 secretion and L-cell differentiation. Conclusions: The results indicate that CK improves glucose homeostasis by increasing L-cell numbers, which enhances GLP-1 release through a mechanism partially mediated by the gut microbiota-BA-TGR5 pathway. Therefore, that therapeutic attempts with CK might be useful for patients with T2DM.

<B>Abstract</B><P>Nitrogen doping is an effective way to tailor the properties of the shaped carbon materials, including the nanotubes, nanocups, nanofibers, as well as the nanorods, and render their potential use for various applications. The common bonding configurations obtained on the N insertion is the pyridinic N and pyrrolic N, which impart the characteristic properties to these carbon materials. This review will focus on the nitrogen-doped carbon materials, the doping effect on the electrochemistry of the doped nanomaterials, and the various synthetic methods to introduce N into the carbon network. The potential applications of the N-doped materials are also reviewed on the basis of the experimental and theoretical studies in electrochemistry.</P>
