Ji-Youn Byoun,Hoon Choi,Joon-Kwan Moon,Hee-Won Park,Kwang-Hyeon Liu,Yang-Bin Ihm,Byeoung-Soo Park,Jeong-Han Kim 한국독성학회 2005 Toxicological Research Vol.21 No.4
Farmers are generally expressed to pesticides through mixing loding, application activity and harvesting of crop after application of pesticides. The present work investigated the exposure and risk of furathiocarb to workers when harvesting of cucumber was carried out in green house after application of furathiocarb EC. Glove was used for the hand exposure assessment, socks for foot and dermal patches for the other parts of body. Personal air monitor equipped with a XAD-2 resin was used for the respiratory exposure assessment. During the harvest of cucumber in green house, the initial rate of potential dermal exposure (Day 1) for methidathion was 1.3 ㎎/hr. The major exposure parts were hand (78~83%), thigh (5~7%) and arms (6~9%) during 3 days’ harvest. No exposure was detected from the respiratory monitoring. For risk assessment, the potential dermal exposure (PDE), the absorbable quantity of exposure (AQE) and the margin of safety (MOS) and margin of exposure (MOE) were calculated. In risk assessment of harvester exposure for 7 days, all MOS was > 1 and MOE was > 100 indicating that possibility of risk was little.

Two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), rs2280788 (-28C[G) and rs2107538 (-403G[A), in the promoter region of chemokine (C–C motif) ligand 5 (CCL5) was reported to be involved in the immunoglobulin E (IgE) expression and IgE-mediated allergic reactions. This study was to investigate the characteristics of total serum IgE level, specific allergen sensitivities and the two SNPs in the allergic skin disease (ASD) patients. ASD patients visiting the dermatological outpatient department of a local hospital were included with certain criteria, and the fasting venous blood was sampled for analysis. Total serum IgE was assayed with an ELISA kit, and 14 kinds of allergen-specific IgE were tested with an allergen screening system. The polymerase chain reaction–restriction fragment length polymorphism method was used to analyze the two SNPs. Among the finally included 437 patients aged from 16 to 85 years, 68.2 % was positive for the total serum IgE, 49.2 % was positive for at least one of the assayed allergen-specific IgE, and 35.0 % was sensitive to house dust mite. In the SNPs analysis, the GG/(GA?AA) ratio and G/A ratio for the -403G[A locus in the male and/or female C45 years subgroup were significantly lower in the total serum IgE positive patients than in the negative patients (P\0.05). Weak linkage disequilibrium was found between -403A and -28C alleles in male subgroups adjusted by age. Conclusively, house dust mite was the most common allergen in ASD patients, and -403A allele of CCL5 promoter was a risk factor for IgE-mediated sensitization.
Study on Crystallization Kinetics of Dynamically-Vulcanized PP/EPDM Blends
Bin Yang,Yan-Li Deng,Xia Ru,Ji-Bin Miao,Ming Cao,Jia-Sheng Qian,Li-Fen Su,Peng Chen,Jing-Wang Liu,La-Xia Wu,Tao Pang 한국고분자학회 2016 폴리머 Vol.40 No.4
Two types of β nucleating agents (β-NAs), aryl dicarboxylic acid amide (TMB-5) and diphenyl phthalate diamine (NT-C), were adopted to modify the polypropylene (PP)/ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) blends, which were prepared by dynamic-vulcanization technology. Wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were used to study the crystallization kinetics of PP. Our results showed that the addition of β-NAs can considerably increase the crystallization temperature, and significantly decrease the spherulite size of β-PP (L300). The Jeziorny analysis showed there were ~82% and ~89% of relative crystallinity generated from the primary crystallization in the composites containing TMB-5 and NT-C, respectively. The crystallization half time (t0.5) showed that NT-C improved the overall crystallization rate more effectively than TMB-5. In addition, the peaks of the relative crystallization rate curves were shifted towards higher temperature by 14 and 9℃ with the addition of TMB-5 and NT-C, respectively.
Experimental study of cured dust layer structure parameters based on semantic segmentation
Li Bin,Ji Zhongli,Mu Junfeng,Ren Yulin,Liu Zhen 한국화학공학회 2023 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.40 No.9
The structural properties of the dust layer, including its thickness, porosity, and particle size distribution, play a critical role in ensuring the high precision and long-term stability of filter elements. However, observing these properties is challenging due to the weak adherence and cohesiveness of the layer. To address this issue, atomization thermosetting glue was used to achieve pre-curing, and the entire dust layer was cured with epoxy resin. After the sample was frozen and fractured using liquid nitrogen, the boundaries of the dust particles became plainly visible. Traditional binarization techniques were insufficient in identifying the edges of the dust particles since the grayscale values of particles and their environment partially overlap. As a result, a deep learning model based on the DeeplabV3+ network architecture was used to identify particles in the dust layer and achieved an accuracy of 90.99%. The research reveals that pulse-jet cleaning can double the thickness of the local dust layer on adjacent filter elements. Additionally, the surface morphology of the filter element significantly impacts the shape and thickness of the dust layer, causing it to change dramatically. Uneven thickness of the dust layer can result in a higher number of dust particles passing through the filter element membrane.
Anti-Aging Scheduling in Single-Server Queues: A Systematic and Comparative Study
Zhongdong Liu,Liang Huang,Bin Li,Bo Ji 한국통신학회 2021 Journal of communications and networks Vol.23 No.2
The age of information (AoI) is a new performance met ric recently proposed for measuring the freshness of information ininformation-update systems. In this work, we conduct a systematicand comparative study to investigate the impact of scheduling poli cies on the AoI performance in single-server queues and provideuseful guidelines for the design of AoI-efficient scheduling poli cies. Specifically, we first perform extensive simulations to demon strate that the update-size information can be leveraged for achiev ing a substantially improved AoI compared to non-size-based (orarrival-time-based) policies. Then, by utilizing both the update-sizeand arrival-time information, we propose three AoI-based policies. Observing improved AoI performance of policies that allow ser vice preemption and that prioritize informative updates, we fur ther propose preemptive, informative, AoI-based scheduling poli cies. Our simulation results show that such policies empiricallyachieve the best AoI performance among all the considered poli cies. However, compared to the best delay-efficient policies (suchas shortest remaining processing time (SRPT)), the AoI improve ment is rather marginal in the settings with exogenous arrivals. In terestingly, we also prove sample-path equivalence between somesize-based policies and AoI-based policies. This provides an intu itive explanation for why some size-based policies (such as SRPT)achieve a very good AoI performance.

Bayesian Hybrid State Estimation for Unequal-length Batch Processes with Incomplete Observations
Guoli Ji,Yaozong Wang,Shunyi Zhao,Yunlong Liu,Kangkang Zhang,Bin Yao,Sun Zhou 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2017 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.15 No.6
This paper investigates state estimation problem for batch processes with unequal-length batches as wellas incomplete observations. A Bayesian hybrid state estimation method is proposed based on two dimensional (2D)correlations of states. The states of equal-length segment of time are estimated according to both within-a-batchand batch-to-batch correlations, and the states of unequal-length segment are obtained according to the correlationswithin the batch. In this way, the batch process states can be achieved in both equal-length and unequal-lengthsituations, of which the latter one is a more general case. In order to approximate state distribution of nonlinearsystem and to deal with the problem of incomplete observations, particle filter (PF) is employed. The proposedmethod shows its superiority with a nonlinear system and a gas-phase reaction process. Compared to a typicalexisting method, the proposed method provides better estimation accuracy in the situation of equal-length batches, also it shows less sensitivity to incomplete observations.
