We experienced an unusual case of accelerated junctional rhythm with severe hypotension after infiltration of lidocaine containing epinephrine during dental surgery under general anesthesia. The patient's electrocardiogram exhibited retrograde P-waves following the QRS complex, which could be misinterpreted as ST-segment depression. As a temporary measure, administration of ephedrine restored the patient's blood pressure to normal levels. The importance of this case lies in its demonstration of an unexpected and serious side effect of commonly used epinephrine infiltration. This case also highlights the need for accurate interpretation of the electrocardiogram and comprehensive understanding of best practices for patient management.

Myringotomy and ventilation tube insertion are widely performed in pediatric patients with chronic otitis media. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia or sedation with local anesthesia infiltration in pediatric patients. In this case report, we report a case of transient facial paralysis in a pediatric patient who underwent myringotomy and ventilation tube insertion using sevoflurane inhalation and four-quadrant blocks with lidocaine.
Design of Transparent Multicolor LED Signage with an Oxide-Metal-Oxide Interconnect Electrode

A transparent light emitting diode (LED) panel with a 16 × 16 multicolor LED array for a signage application is proposed and studied based on experimental and simulation results. As a transparent electrode, oxide/metal/oxide (OMO) trilayers with various Al interlayer thicknesses were fabricated and characterized using an established a simulation model. Using commercial ray tracing optical and SPICE simulation tools, we designed the LED panel and investigated in its optical and electrical properties. Moreover, in order to resolve the waveguide effect and voltage drop issue across the panel, we integrated additional optical structures and various OMO width into the design. The results show that the OMO electrode interconnects and proposed design considerations are pivotal aspects toward achieving transparent LED digital signage applications.

꽃노랑총채벌레(Frankliniella occidentalis)는 고추를 가해하는 주요 병해충 가운데 하나이다. 유충과 성충이 긁어빠는 구기로 잎과 열매에 가해하는 직접피해는 물론이고 일명 칼라병이라 일컬어지는 토마토반점위조바 이러스를 전파하는 간접피해를 주고 있다. 다양한 바이러스 내병성 품종이 농가에서 재배되고 있으나, 칼라병의 발병은 해를 거듭하며 증가하고 있다. 놀라운 사실은 일부 내병성 품종에 대해서 총채벌레의 유인력이 감수성 품종에 비해 높다는 사실이다. 본 연구는 꽃노랑총채벌레에 대한 고추의 항객성 기작을 분석하였다. 총채벌레에 이미 피해를 받은 고추는 다른 총채벌레의 접근을 억제하는 것은 물론이고 천적인 미끌애꽃노린재를 유인하였 다. 이 고추 내부에는 자스모닉산 생합성 관여 유전자의 발현이 증가하였다. 고추가 생산하는 향기성분을 SPME 방식으로 모아 분석한 결과 Green leaf volatile과 terpene류의 증가를 보였다. 시판되는 10개의 고추 품종을 대상으 로 항객성 생물 검정과 향기성분 분석을 실시한 결과 이상의 항객성 기작을 뒷받침하였다. 또한 근권세균 가운데 일부는 고추로 하여금 이러한 항객성을 유도하였다.

<P> Forward osmosis (FO) is an osmotic process that uses a semi-permeable membrane to effect separation of water from dissolved solutes by an osmotic pressure gradient. Unlike RO, FO does not require high pressure for separation, allowing low energy consumption to produce water. Therefore FO, a potential alternative to conventional membrane process, has been considered a novel technology for seawater desalination. There is no forward osmosis (FO) process simulation program yet, though. Therefore, the main objective of this paper is to develop such computer program based on the solution-diffusion model modified with the film theory for simulating and optimizing the FO, RO, and FO-RO hybrid process. The effect of concentration polarization on FO and RO process efficiency was also considered in the model. A MATLAB-based graphical user interface (GUI) program was used to develop the simulation program. Using the program, the effects of various factors, including the draw solution concentration, feed concentration, and feed pressure and temperature, on the FO and RO process performance were examined. The simulation results showed that the FO-RO hybrid process has higher recovery (66.8%) with reasonable flux (13.1 L/m2-h) and permeate concentration (382 mg/L) than the FO and RO process. Thus, the advantages of the FO-RO hybrid process over the FO and RO process are its low permeate concentration and high recovery, which are difficult to attain in the FO and RO process, respectively. </P>

본 연구의 컨셉은 아동 발달단계에서 필요한 만지기, 손가락질하기, 손으로 다루기, 쥐기 등의 다양한 촉각 경험을 평면의 사물 모형조각을 이용하고 스마트 디바이스와 연동하여 체험할 수 있도록 해준다. 또한 촉각 경험에 끝나지 않고 마치 사물이 움직이는듯한 인터랙션을 아동에게 보여줌으로써 아동의 상상력을 키워준다. 또한 교구를 사용함에 있어서 아동 혼자 사용하는 것이 아니라 아동의 부모나 조부모 등의 어른이 참여 가능하도록 하여 자연스럽게 아동과의 친밀감을 유도한다. 기존의 교구들은 한 가지 교구를 가지고 한 가지의 학습 및 놀이를 할 수 밖에 없는 한계를 가지고 있다. 하지만 본 컨셉은 그러한 한계를 넘어서 스마트 디바이스에서 제공하는 모바일 애플리케이션을 통해 다양한 놀이 및 학습 콘텐츠를 제공받을 수 있어서 한 가지 교구를 가지고 여러 가지 놀이 및 학습 콘텐츠의 업그레이드가 가능한 스마트 교구를 연구하였다. 또한 본 내용은 특허 출원 중에 있으며 프로토타입으로 제작하여 사용자 경험적 측면에서 가능성을 검증하고 있다.
