Spontaneous regression of tumors is an extremely rare event in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with only a few reports available. With the accumulation of clinical information and tumor immunogenetics, several mechanisms for the cystic changes of HCC have been suggested, including arterial thrombosis, inflammation, and rapid tumor growth. This paper reports an uncommon case of the partial regression of HCC, which was initially misdiagnosed as a mucinous cystic neoplasm of the liver due to the unusual radiologic findings. A 78-year-old female with the hepatitis B virus and liver cirrhosis presented with an approximately 5 cm-sized cystic mass of the liver. From the radiologic evidence of a papillary-like projection from the cyst wall toward the inner side, the initial impression was a mucinous cystic neoplasm of the liver. The patient underwent a surgical resection and finally, cystic degeneration of HCC, in which approximately 80% necrosis was noted. This case suggests that if a cystic neoplasm of liver appears in a patient with a high risk of HCC on a hepatobiliary imaging study, it is prudent to consider the cystic degeneration of HCC in a differential diagnosis. 신규 용액공정 정공주입층 소재 Hexaazatrinaphthylene 유도체를 도입한 인광 유기전기발광소자

유기전기발광소자(Organic light diodes, OLEDs)의 전기발광특성을 향상시키기 위해, 본 논문에서는 용액 공정 정공주입층으로 신규 hexaazatrinaphthylene(HATNA) 유도체들을 도입한 고효율 녹색인광 OLED소자의 특성을 연구하였다. HATNA 유도체는 Indium Tin Oxide(ITO)의 일함수와 비슷한 낮은 the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO) 에너지 준위를 가져 다른 개념의 정공주입 메커니즘을 보여주었다. HATNA 유도체를 hole injection layer(HIL)로 사용한 OLED소자들은 HTL로의 정공주입장벽을 효과적으로 감소시키고 발광층 내에 전자와 정공의 균형을 최적화 시켜 외부양자효율이 10.8%에서 15.6%로, 전류 효율은 34.3 cd/A에서 42.7 cd/A로 소자 효율이 크게 향상 되었다. To improve light-emitting performance of green phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), we introduced new hole injection materials-hexaazatrinaphthylene (HATNA) derivatives as a solution processed hole injection layer (HIL). The HATNA derivative has a low the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy level, similar to the work function of Indium Tin Oxide (ITO), showing a different concept of hole injection mechanism. It was confirmed that the device efficiency of OLEDs using HATNA-HIL showed the improved external quantum efficiency from 10.8% to 15.6% and current efficiency from 32.7 cd/A to 42.7 cd/A due to the balance of electrons and holes in the emissive layer.

Background/Aims: Cerulein pancreatitis is similar to human edematous pancreatitis with dysregulation of the production and secretion of digestive enzymes, edema formation, cytoplasmic vacuolization and the death of acinar cells. We hypothesized that membrane proteins may be altered as the early event during the induction of acute pancreatitis. Present study aims to determine the differentially expressed proteins in the membranes of cerulein-treated pancreatic acinar cells. Methods: Pancreatic acinar AR42J cells were treated with 10(-8) M cerulein for 1 hour. Membrane proteins were isolated from the cells and separated by two-dimensional electrophoresis using pH gradients of 5-8. Membrane proteins were identified by matrix- assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) analysis of the peptide digests. The differentially expressed proteins, whose expression levels were more or less than three-fold in cerulein-treated cells, were analyzed. Results: Two differentially expressed proteins (mannan-binding lectin-associated serine protease-2, heat shock protein 60) were up-regulated while four proteins (protein disulfide isomerase, γ-actin, isocitrate dehydrogenase 3, seven in absentia homolog 1A) were down-regulated by cerulein treatment in pancreatic acinar cells. These proteins are related to cell signaling, oxidative stress, and cytoskeleton arrangement. Conclusions: Oxidative stress may induce cerulein-induced cell injury and disturbances in defense mechanism in pancreatic acinar cells. (Gut Liver 2010;4:84-93)
A 3DTV Broadcasting Scheme for High-Quality Stereoscopic Content Over a Hybrid Network

<P>Various methods are used to provide three-dimensional television (3DTV) services over a terrestrial broadcasting network. However, these services cannot provide high-quality 3D content to consumers. It is because current terrestrial broadcast networks are allocated with limited bandwidths to transmit 3D content while 3D content requires larger bandwidth compared to that of 2D content. To overcome this limitation, this paper proposes a hybrid 3DTV broadcasting system, which utilizes both a terrestrial broadcast network and a broadband network. In the proposed system, two elementary streams of left and right views for a stereoscopic video service are transmitted over a terrestrial broadcasting network and a broadband network, respectively. In addition, the proposed system suggests a new mechanism for synchronization between these two elementary streams. The proposed scheme can provide high-quality 3DTV service regardless of bandwidth of the terrestrial broadcast network while maintaining backward compatibility with a 2D DTV broadcasting service.</P>
