A pH-Responsive Molecular Switch with Tricolor Luminescence

<P>We developed a new ratiometric pH sensor based on poly(<I>N-</I>phenylmaleimide) (PPMI)-containing block copolymer that emits three different fluorescent colors depending on the pH. The strong solvatochromism and tautomerism of the PPMI derivatives enabled precise pH sensing for almost the entire range of the pH scale. Theoretical calculations have predicted largely dissimilar band gaps for the keto, enol, and enolate tautomers of PPMI owing to low-dimensional conjugation effects. The tunable emission wavelength and intensity of our sensors, as well as the reversible color switching with high-luminescent contrast, were achieved using rational molecular design of PPMI analogues as an innovative platform for accurate H<SUP>+</SUP> detection. The self-assembly of block copolymers on the nanometer length scale was particularly highlighted as a novel prospective means of regulating fluorescence properties while avoiding the self-quenching phenomenon, and this system can be used as a fast responsive pH sensor in versatile device forms.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/aamick/2015/aamick.2015.7.issue-1/am5070188/production/images/medium/am-2014-070188_0008.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/am5070188'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>
조직분위기와 종업원 침묵의 관계 및 조직공정성의 조절효과

본 연구는 조직분위기(상사태도, 조직정치지각)와 종업원침묵(체념적침묵, 친사회적침묵)의 관계 및 조직공정성(분배공정성, 상호작용공정성)의 조절효과를 확인하는데 목적이 있다. 건설업, 제조업, 서비스업에 소속된 구성원 241명의 설문결과를 토대로 위계적 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 상사태도는 종업원침묵에 부(-)적인 관계로 나타났고, 조직정치지각은 종업원침묵(체념적, 친사회적)과 정적인 관계로 나타났다. 그리고 조직정치지각이 종업원침묵에 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 데에 있어서 조직공정성(분배, 상호작용)은 조절효과로서 침묵을 감소시키는 역할을 하였다. 추후 연구에서는 설문대상자들의 시간적 흐름에 따른 의식의 변화와 행태적인 특성을 반영할 수 있는 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다. This paper reviewed the relationship between organizational climate (superior attitudes, organizational politics perception) and employee silence (acquiescent, prosocial) and the moderating effect of organizational justice. The results of hierarchical multiple regression analysis, based on the reponses from 241 employees in construction industry, manufacturing industry, service industry, showed that superior attitudes appeared to be negatively related with employee silence and organizational politics perception appeared to be positively related with employee silence. In moderating effects, organizational justice interacts with organizational politics perception to have positive effects on employee silence and plays a role in reducing employee silence. The subsequent studies will need to be conducted to reflect the changing consciousness and behavioral characteristics of the survey participants over time.

<P>Wiring of glucose oxidase (GOx) onto electrode surfacewas successfully achieved by cross-linked networks of organometallicblock copolymers comprising electroactive ferrocene moieties and chemicallycross-linkable diene groups, poly(ferrocenyldimethylsilane-<I>b</I>-isoprene)s (PFS–PIs). Different nanoscale morphologiesof PFS–PIs, i.e., bicontinuous structure, nanowires, and nanoparticles,have been derived by varying molecular weights and casting solvents.Upon examining catalytic current responses of the GOx integrated PFS–PIsystems, notably, the morphology of PFS–PI is foundout to be a crucial parameter in determining the efficiency of electrontransfer. For example, the use of bicontinuous PFS–PI confirms2–50 times improved catalytic current densities, compared withthe values of other morphologies; the maximum catalytic current ofglucose oxidation was 0.7 mA/cm<SUP>2</SUP> at 70 mM glucose concentration.The biosensing ability of the fabricated electrode with structuraloptimization was also exploited, and good sensitivity is obtainedat the physiological concentration of glucose in blood.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/mamobx/2012/mamobx.2012.45.issue-7/ma300155u/production/images/medium/ma-2012-00155u_0006.gif'></P>
플라즈마의 특성 분석을 위한 수정된 로렌츠 분산 모형 기반 FDTD 알고리즘

본 논문은 유한 차분 시간 영역법(FDTD: finite-difference time-domain)에 적용 가능한 플라즈마 분산 모형을 제안한다. 주파수에 따라 전기적 특성이 변하는 플라즈마의 분산 특성을 정확하고 효율적으로 모델링하기 위해 수정된 로렌츠 분산 모형을 이용하여 표현하였다. 가중최소제곱법 기반의 복소 곡선 접합법을 적용하여 플라즈마에 대한 수정된 로렌츠 분산 모형의 계수를 추출하였으며, 수정된 로렌츠 분산 모형을 FDTD에 적용하는 방법을 논의하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 수정된 로렌츠 분산 모형 기반의 플라즈마 모형이 유전체 장벽 방전(DBD: dielectric barrier discharge) 플라즈마 발생기를 유전체 슬래브로 등가 모델링하여 추출한 유전율의 데이터와 일치하는 것을 확인하였다. 광대역 레이다 단면적(RCS: radar cross-section) 측정실험의 결과와 비교를 통해 제안한 수정된 로렌츠 분산 모형 기반의 FDTD 알고리즘의 정확도를 검증하였다. In this paper, to analyze the dispersive characteristics of plasma, a dispersive model suitable for the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is proposed. The dispersive characteristics of plasma with varying electrical properties according to frequency were accurately and efficiently expressed using the modified Lorentz dispersive model. The coefficient of the modified Lorentz dispersive model was extracted by applying complex curve fitting based on the weighted least squares method. The method of applying the modified Lorentz dispersion model to the FDTD is discussed. The plasma model based on the modified Lorentz dispersion model proposed in this paper was verified to match the data of the dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma generator from dielectric slab equivalent modeling. The accuracy of the proposed FDTD algorithm based on the modified Lorentz dispersive model was verified by comparison with the results of the broadband radar cross-section (RCS) measurement experiment.
Mutagenic Assessment of Olmesartan Cilexetil by Bacterial Mutation Assay

Hypertension is a serious health problem due to high frequency and concomitant other diseases including cardiovascular and renal dysfunction. Olmesartan cilexetil is a new antihypertensive drug associated with angiotensin II receptor antagonist. This study was conducted to evaluate the mutagenicity of olmesartan cilexetil by bacterial reverse mutation test using Salmonella typhimurium (TA100, TA1535, TA98, and TA1537) and Escherichia coli (WP2 uvrA). At the concentrations of 0, 62, 185, 556, 1667, and 5000 ${\mu}g$/plate, olmesartan cilexetil was negative in both Salmonella typhimurium and Escherichia coli regardless of presence or absence of metabolic activation system (S9 mix). These results demonstrate that olmesartan cilexetil does not induce bacterial reverse mutation.
