<P>Discussion: The results highlight the clinical efficacy of an eHSM intervention composed of a four-week education program, self-monitoring, and follow-up counselling. The eHSM intervention should be expanded to include community-dwelling elderly persons with hypertension to improve the self-management of hypertension and control of blood pressure.</P>
대학생의 영작문에 나타난 시제와 가정법 사용 오류에 관한 연구

This study aims to examine errors in college students’ English compositions, focusing on the use of tense and subjunctive in order to provide teachers or text developers with basic materials of teaching grammar and writing. Thirty students participated in both the controlled and the free writing sessions in which students translated 32 Korean sentences into English and described their activities in the past, present, and future forms of tense. In addition, they filled out a questionnaire about their attitude toward English writing and knowledge on tense and subjunctive. The authors counted the number of correct expressions of tense and subjunctive in their writings to determine each subject’s score and two native speakers graded each writing by the TWE (TOEFL) standards. Results showed that in the controlled writing the students used 44.07% of tense and subjunctive forms correctly. The majority of the errors were attributed to the intralingual ones. In the free writing, the accuracy rate was higher, 90.92%, which might be related to the students’ avoidance of uncertain expressions. The students showed a strong interest in English but lacked confidence in their writing. Further studies on the students’ writing would be desirable.
전문대학 내 취업지원프로그램 참여유형화와 효과성 분석: 진로결정 자기효능감, 취업스트레스, 고용가능성을 중심으로

본 연구는 취업지원프로그램의 다양성과 만족도를 중심으로 전문대학 내 취업지 원프로그램의 참여유형을 구분하고, 진로결정 자기효능감, 취업스트레스, 고용가능 성을 중심으로 취업지원프로그램의 효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위해 연구자들은 2016 년 11월부터 12월까지 수도권 소재 A전문대학의 재학생 329명을 대상으로 설문조사를 통해 자료를 수집하고 분석하였으며, 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대다수의 전문대학생이 1개 이상의 취업지원프로그램에 참여하고, 과반수 이상의 학생들이 2~4개 프로그램을 경험하였다. 둘째, 변량분석 결과, 취업지원프로그램 참여여부에 따른 진로결정 자기효능감, 취업스트레스, 고용가능성의 차이는 각 프로그램의 유형에 따라 다르게 나타났다. 셋째, 군집분석 결과, 취업지원프로그램의 참여 다양성과 만족도를 중심으로 4개 유형이 도출되었으며, 각 유형별 학생들의 진로결정 자기효 능감, 취업스트레스, 고용가능성에 차이가 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 공급자 중심의 보여주기식 성과에서 탈피해서 학습자 중심의 실질적인 효과를 거두기 위해서는 전문대학의 취업지원프로그램 운영방식이 전환될 필요가 있음을 보여주며, 이에 따라본 연구는 전문대학 취업지원프로그램의 구체적인 운영방향을 제안하였다. The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics and participation types of employment support programs in college. For this purpose, researchers collect and analyze the data from 329 students of metropolitan junior college. Based on data, researchers classify the participation types of employment support programs according to the diversity and satisfaction of participating employment support programs, and examine differences in career decision-making self-efficacy, job seeking stress, employability among participation types. As a results, first, most of college’s students experience more than once in employment support programs, and this means that these programs come to be common experience to students. Researcher also identify that there are differences of career decision-making self-efficacy, job seeking stress, employability depending on participating programs. Through cluster analysis, 4 types of employment support program participation are found. And there is significant differences of career decision-making self-efficacy, job seeking stress, employability. Particularly, the effectiveness of employment support program shows a clear difference when the participation of diversity and satisfaction are considered together, not each. Based on these results, researchers discuss the implications for systematic and effective employment support programs.

<P>BACKGROUND: Although previous studies have suggested that linezolid may be effective for treating multidrug-resistant (MDR) and extensively drug-resistant (XDR) tuberculosis (TB), the optimal dose of linezolid for intractable MDR/XDR-TB is not clear. METHODS: Twenty-four patients with intractable MDR/XDR-TB were treated with a daily 300 mg dose of linezolid as part of their anti-TB drug regimen. RESULTS: The patients were treated with linezolid for a median duration of 359 days [interquartile range (IQR) 268-443 days]. Seventeen (71%) patients received 300 mg of linezolid once daily from the beginning of treatment for a median duration of 289 days (IQR 233-405 days). Of these patients, four developed peripheral neuropathy, one of whom discontinued linezolid. In seven (29%) patients, 600 mg/day linezolid was administered initially for a median duration of 104 days (IQR 26-145 days) followed by 300 mg/day linezolid for a median duration of 348 days (IQR 298-427 days). In five of these seven patients, the reason for changing from 600 to 300 mg/day was due to side effects of 600 mg/day linezolid (peripheral neuropathy in four patients and leucopenia in one patient). After reducing the dose to 300 mg/day, linezolid could be continued in six of the seven patients. Negative sputum conversion was achieved in 22 (92%) patients after a median of 89 days from the start of linezolid treatment (IQR 48-160 days). CONCLUSIONS: A daily 300 mg dose of linezolid may be useful for increasing the chances of culture conversion in the treatment of patients with intractable MDR/XDR-TB and might have fewer side effects, especially neurotoxicity, compared with a daily 600 mg dose of linezolid therapy. The present results encourage further research into the use of a 300 mg dose of linezolid for MDR/XDR-TB patients.</P>
C와 스크래치 프로그램 이해에 대한 고등학생의 추상적 사고, 언어친밀성,학업성취도 관계 분석

컴퓨터 교육 분야에서 추상적 사고가 컴퓨터 프로그래밍 능력에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며 프로그래밍 언어에 대한 경험도 영향을 미친다는 경험적인 주장이 제시되었다. 하지만 이에 대한 실증 연구가 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구는 컴퓨터 프로그램 작성, 디버깅, 판독 등 다양한 프로그래밍 능력 중에서 프로그램 이해에 초점을 두고 고등학생들의 추상적 사고 수준과 프로그래밍 언어친밀성이 프로그램 이해력에 어떻게 영향을 미치며 이들 간에 상호작용이 존재하는지 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 376명의 고등학생을 대상으로 추상적 사고 수준과 언어친밀성, 학업성취도, C언어와 스크래치 프로그램 이해력을 조사하였다. 그 결과, 추상적 사고 차이는 남학생의 경우 반복문 처리에서 통계적으로 유의한 결과 차이를 드러냈고, 고등학교 이전에 다른 프로그래밍 언어에 대한 경험이 있는 경우, 언어친밀성이 추상적 사고 수준과 상호작용 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 컴퓨터 프로그래밍 교육에서 쉬운 프로그램 보다는 적절히 난이도가 있는 프로그램을 체험하게 하고 다양한 프로그래밍 언어 경험을 제공하는 것이 학생들의 프로그래밍 이해력 향상에 도움을 줌을 시사한다. In computer education area, abstract thinking has played a positive role in programming ability, and language experience has also affected the ability. However, most of the studies were empirical. The practical research about the relation analysis between abstract thinking and programming ability has rarely been performed. Among various types of programming abilities such as coding, debugging, and reading, this paper focused on program understanding. We analyzed the affection relation on program understanding and the interaction effect between abstract thinking level and language familiarity. We surveyed 376 high school students on their abstract thinking levels, language familiarity, academic achievement, and the program understanding abilities of C and Scratch. From the research, we knew that the abstract thinking level played an important role in understanding the iterative program for the male students. In addition, if the students had the experience on other programming languages before entering high schools, then there was an interaction effect between abstract thinking level and program language familiarity.
Deep convolutional neural network for the diagnosis of thyroid nodules on ultrasound

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P><B>Background</B></P><P>We designed a deep convolutional neural network (CNN) to diagnose thyroid malignancy on ultrasound (US) and compared the diagnostic performance of CNN with that of experienced radiologists.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>Between May 2012 and February 2015, 589 thyroid nodules in 519 patients were diagnosed as benign or malignant by surgical excision. Experienced radiologists retrospectively reviewed the US of the thyroid nodules in a test set. CNNs were trained and tested using retrospective data of 439 and 150 US images, respectively. Diagnostic performances were compared between the two groups.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>Of the 589 thyroid nodules, 396 were malignant and 193 were benign. The area under the curve (AUC) for diagnosing thyroid malignancy was 0.805‐0.860 for radiologists. The AUCs for diagnosing thyroid malignancy for the three CNNs were 0.845, 0.835, and 0.850. There was no significant difference in AUC between radiologists and CNNs.</P><P><B>Conclusions</B></P><P>CNNs showed comparable diagnostic performance compared to experienced radiologists in differentiating thyroid malignancy on US.</P>
