A 48-year-old male visited the emergency room of the authors’ hospital due to nausea, vomiting, and myalgia for four days. Acute hepatitis A was identified from the serologic marker of the hepatitis A virus. Mild elevation of the serum creatinine and creatinine phosphokinase(CPK) suggested rhabomyolysis, which was confirmed with the serum aldolase, myoglobin, and urine myoglobin. With supportive care, both the liver and renal func- tions were recovered gradually and fully. This case shows that rhabdomyolysis can be one of the mechanisms of renal complication in cases of acute symptomatic hepatitis A.

In this paper, we designed a nonlinear controller using a new identification method of neural network. The method proposed in this paper performs, for a nonlinear plant with unknown parameters, identification with using a neural network, and then a stable nonlinear controller is designed with those identified informations. The advantage of the proposed control method is simple to design a controller because, for unknown nonlinear systems, we used the identified informations and design parameters are positioned within a negative real part of s-plane. In order to verify excellent control performances of the proposed method, we compared with a conventional neural network control method through a lot of simulations with one link manipulator.

DC cutoff must be completed within a few ms. Therefore, this paper derives the optimal superconducting wire winding method for efficient current limiting and fast execution of the blocking operation. First, the electromagnetic field characteristics of the superconducting wire according to the winding type were analyzed using the Maxwell program. After that, the EMTDC/PSCAD program was used to analyze the DC blocking performance according to the winding type. Based on the simulation results, as a result of the DC cut-off experiment for each winding type, the spiral type superconductor has a higher resistance rise curve than the helical type, so it is possible to limit the current efficiently by up to 4.01%. In addition, as the magnetic field characteristics are high, the quench of the superconductor operates quickly and the operation time of the circuit breaker is shortened by 0.19 ms, so it can be confirmed that the blocking completion time is also reduced by 0.25 ms.

This study proposes two types of current-limiting DC circuit breakers coupled with a superconductor. The first superconductive DC circuit breaker limits the size of the fault current by quenching the superconductor when a fault occurs. Then the limited fault current is blocked by the DC circuit breaker. The second transformer-type superconductive DC circuit breaker limits the fault current and performs blocking operation through the impedance characteristics of the transformer and the quench characteristics of the superconductor. This study analyzes the blocking characteristics of the two types of current-limiting DC circuit breakers. The blocking performance, current limiting rate, and power sharing ratio of the breakers were analyzed using the same simulation conditions for each type of breaker. The simulation results showed that the transformer-type superconductivity DC circuit breaker has the highest fault current limiting rate. Furthermore, the superconductive DC circuit breaker completed the fault current blocking operation the fastest. Finally, it was verified that the applied power burden to the superconductor is lowest at the transformer-type superconductive DC circuit breaker.

This study was carried out to gain the basic informations about botanical characteristics of plant type and properties related to table quality for developing the new colored waxy corn hybrid. Materials used were produced by our laboratory in 2007 and their major traits were evaluated fro two years(2008 to 2009) at Corn Breeding Farm of Coll. of Agri. & Life in CNU. Items surveyed were major agricultural characteristics including ear length and traits related to edible. Botanical characteristics as a plant type and ear pattern of the developed waxy corn hybrids showed large ranges among them; stem height of CNU08H-h39 among used hybrids was the highest as 235.7cm, while CNUH08-15 was the lowest. Ear height of Daehackchal Gold 1 was the highest as 83.7cm and that of CNU08H-15 was the lowest among used hybrids. Ear length of CNU08H-h121 among used hybrids was the longest as 23.1cm, while that of CNU08H-71 was the smallest as 12.7cm. Kernel sugar content of the used hybrids appeared to be 16.1 to 13.0Brix(%). Especially, CNU08H-15, CNU08H-35 and CNU08H-h39 hybrids were highly appeared as 15 above. Pericarp thickness of check hybrid, Yeonongchal, was thicker as 46.0㎛, while that of CNU08H-39 compared to other hybrids showed the thinnest as 23.0㎛. From this study, we could obtain several superior colored hybrids with thinner pericarp and high sugar contents like CNU 08-39 and CNU 08-h121 hybrids. Accordingly, these hybrids will be apply as new developed variety through confirmed trials.

Current limiting and blocking technology using superconductors limits the current by generating high impedance due to the characteristics of the superconductor when a fault current occurs in the system. In this paper, the characteristics of the cut-off time reduction and limiting rate were analyzed through an experiment on DC cut-off according to the winding type using a 3 m superconducting wire. First, quench of superconductor is accompanied by heat. Therefore, an electromagnetic fi eld analysis program was used to prove the correlation between fault current limit and cut-off speed. Second, the experimental environment was confi gured according to the winding type, and the current limiting rate for each type, the breaking speed of the DC circuit breaker, the power, etc. were analyzed through actual experiments. As a result, depending on the winding type, it is possible to select the optimal winding type for use in the MVDC and HVDC environment rather than the low voltage standard in the future through the quench characteristics of superconductors through simulation and the results of experiments.
