Based on a sample of 308 enterprises, this paper studies the determinants of export organic supply chain performance. The results indicate seven positive determinants that influence positively the supply chain performance, including: (i) need-satisfying ability (NSA), (ii) relationship management, (iii) information management, (iv) quality management, (v) coordination and cooperation mechanisms, (vi) operation management, and (vii) marketing strategy of the export organic supply chain. In contrast, the differentiated segmentation strategy and cost strategy have no impact on the export organic supply chain performance.

<P>The rhizomes of <I>Hedychium coronarium</I> have been used for the treatment of inflammation, skin diseases, headache, and sharp pain due to rheumatism in traditional medicine. From this plant, two new labdanes, 15-methoxylabda-8(17),11<I>E</I>,13-trien-16,15-olide (<B>1</B>) and 16-methoxylabda-8(17),11<I>E</I>,13-trien-15,16-olide (<B>3</B>), named hedycoronens A and B, as well as four known, labda-8(17),11,13-trien-16,15-olide (<B>2</B>), 16-hydroxylabda-8(17),11,13-trien-15,16-olide (<B>4</B>), coronarin A (<B>5</B>), and corronarin E (<B>6</B>) were isolated. Their chemical structures were elucidated by mass, 1D- and 2D-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. They were evaluated for inhibitory effects on the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated production of pro-inflammatory cytokines in bone marrow-derived dendritic cells. Among of them, compounds <B>1</B>—<B>3</B> were potent inhibitors of LPS-stimulated interleukin-6 (IL-6) and IL-12 p40, with IC50 ranging from 4.1±0.2 to 9.1±0.3 μ<SMALL>M</SMALL>. Compounds <B>1</B> and <B>3</B> showed moderate inhibitory activity on the tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) production with IC50 values of 46.0±1.3 and 12.7±0.3 μ<SMALL>M</SMALL>. The remains of compounds showed inactivity. These results warrant further studies concerning the potential anti-inflammatory benefits of labdane-diterpenes from <I>H. coronarium</I>.</P>

Kiem, Phan-Van,Minh, Chau-Van,Huong, Hoang-Thanh,Nam, Nguyen-Hoai,Lee, Jung-Joon,Kim, Young-Ho The Pharmaceutical Society of Korea 2004 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.27 No.11
A new triterpene (1) and six known pentacyclic terpenoids (2-7) were isolated from the methanol extract of the dried leaves from Mallotus apelta. Based on the spectral and chemical evidence, their structures were determined to be 3$\alpha$-hydroxyhop-22(29)-ene (1), hennadiol (2), friedelin (3), friedelanol (4), epifriedelanol (5), taraxerone (6), and epitaraxerol (7).
New Cytotoxic Benzopyrans from the Leaves of Mallotus apelta
Kiem Phan Van,Dang Nguyen Hai,Bao Ha Viet,Huong Hoang Thanh,Minh Chau Van,Huong Le Mai,Lee Jung Joon,Kim Young Ho The Pharmaceutical Society of Korea 2005 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.28 No.10
Two new benzopyrans 6-[1'-oxo-3'(R)-hydroxy-butyl]-5,7 -dimethoxy-2,2-dimethyl-2H-1-ben-zopyran (1) and 6-[1'-oxo-3'(R)-methoxy-butyl]-5,7 -dimethoxy-2,2-dimethyl-2H-1-benzopyran (2) were isolated from the leaves of Mallotus apelta Muell.-Arg., (Euphorbiaceae). Their chemical structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analyses, especially by 1D-, 2D-NMR and MS spectra. Compound 1 was found to have strong cytotoxic effect against two human cancer cell lines as human hepatocellular carcinoma (Hep-2, $IC_{50}\;:\;0.49\;{\mu}g/mL$) and rhabdosarcoma (RD, $IC_{50}\;:\;0.54\;{\mu}g/mL$), while compound 2 showed moderate activity against Hep-2 cell line ($IC_{50}\;:\;4.22\;{\mu}g/mL$) by in vitro assay.

Phytochemical investigation of the stem barks of Canarium bengalense (Burseraceace) resulted in the isolation of a new flavone glycoside (5) together with six known compounds (1-4, 6, and 7). The chemical structure of the new compound was elucidated as 3'-hydroxy-7,4'-dimethoxyflavone-5-O-α-L-arabinofuranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranoside by means of 1D and 2D NMR (1H-1H COSY, HMQC, and HMBC) and MS analyses. To evaluate the in vitro cytoprotective effect, the isolates (1-7) were tested against hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)-induced damage in primary cultured hepatocytes. The viability of hepatocytes was increased by treatment with each compound, except compound 1. Compounds 3, 4, and 7 exerted cytoprotective effects comparable to curcumin, the positive control. Our results suggest that the cytoprotective constituents of C. bengalense may contribute to its traditional use in the treatment of tumor and liver damage.
Phenolic Constituents with Inhibitory Activity against NFAT Transcription from Desmos chinensis
Kiem Phan Van,Minh Chau Van,Huang Hoang Thanh,Lee Jung Joon,Lee Im Seon,Kim Young Ho The Pharmaceutical Society of Korea 2005 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.28 No.12
Six phenolic constituents, 2-methoxybenzyl benzoate (1), negletein (2), 2',3'-dihydroxy-4',6'dimethoxydihydrochalcone (3), 5,6-dihydroxy-7-methoxy-dihydroflavone (4), astilbin (5), and quercitrin (6) were isolated from the methanol extract of the dried leaves of Desmos chinensis. Their structures were elucidated from spectral and chemical data. Of these constituents, compounds 2 ($IC_{50}$: 3.89 $\pm$ 0.39 $\mu$M) and 3 ($IC_{50}$: 9.77 $\pm$ 0.26 $\mu$M) exhibited potent inhibitory activity against nuclear factor of activated T cells (NFAT) transcription factor, and compound 1 ($IC_{50}$: 28.4 $\pm$ 2.62 $\mu$M) exhibited moderate inhibitory activity.

By various chromatographic methods, two new phenylpropanoid esters of sucrose named hidropiperosides A (1) and B (2), and three known compounds as vanicosides A (3), B (4), and E (5) were isolated from the methanolic extract of the whole plant of Polygonum hydropiper L. (Polygonaceae). Their structures were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic methods including 1D- and 2D-NMR experiments, as well as ESI-MS analysis. All the isolated compounds were tested for their antioxidant activity in the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay system. Among them, compounds 2 and 3 showed significant antioxidant activity with their $SC_{50}$ values of 23.4 and $26.7{\mu}g/mL$, respectively.
