        집돼지와 멧돼지間 雜種의 染色體傷에 關한 硏究

        This experiment was carried out to investigate the number of chromosome and its phase between wild pig Sus coreanus, and crossbred which was crossed between Sus scorfa L. and Sus coreanus. The results obtained from this study are as follows : 1. The chromosome numbers, including sex chromosomes, of the Korean wild pig(S. coreanus) were 38. 2. In chromosomal patterns of the wild, domestic and its crossbred pigs showed the same chromosomal phase such as the #1, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #9, and #10 chromosomes were submetacentric, and the #11, #12, #13, #15, #17, and Y chromosomes were metacentric, but the X chromosome was metacentric in the domestic, whereas submetancentric in the wild pig. 3. The arm ratios and centromeric indexes in all homologous chromosomes in the domestic and wild pigs showed significantly different at P〈0.05. 4. In the acrocentric chromosomes, in the wild and domestic pigs, the #2 and #18 chromosomes were significant difference, but in the crossbred showed half of its chromosomes. It means that the genetic materials of the crossbred are transmitted the ratio of about 50% from each of his parents.

        Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus의 코인두강 집락이 경피내시경하위루술 감염에 미치는 영향과 감염의 위험인자

        목적: 경피내시경하위루술(percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, PEG)은 경장 영양법으로 시술 부위 감염은 가장 흔한 부작용이다. 최근 methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)가 PEG 시술 부위 감염원으로 대두되고 있고 코인두강 내 MRSA 집락이 PEG 시술 부위 감염과 연관되어 있다. 이번 연구는 PEG 시술 전에 예방 항생제를 투여하였을 때 코인두강의 MRSA 집락이 PEG 시술 부위 감염에 미치는 영향과 시술 부위 감염의 위험인자를 알아보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 2003년 9월부터 2005년 7월까지 다양한 질환에 의해 장기 경장 양양법으로 PEG를 처음 시행 받았던 31명을 대상으로 전향 연구를 시행하였다. 모든 환자에서 시술 전 항생제를 사용하고 코인두강 상재균을 도말하여 배양하였다. PEG 시술 후 1, 3, 7일에 시술 부위를 관찰하였고 시술 부위 감염 시 균을 도말하여 배양하였다. MRSA 코인두강 집락과 시술 부위 감염의 관계와 시술 부위 감염의 위험인자를 분석하였다. 결과: 코인두강의 상재균 중에 MRSA가 10예(66.5%)로 가장 많았으나 MRSA의 코인두강 집락과 시술 부위 감염은 관계가 없었다(p=0.300). 합병증은 13예(41.9%)에서 발생하였고 시술 부위 감염은 4예(12.9%)였다. 시술 부위 감염과 성별, 연령, 원인질환, 재원 일수, 시술 전 급식 방법, 항생제 사용 형태 등은 상관관계가 없었다. 당뇨병 환자에서 시술 부위 감염률이 유의하게 높았다(p=0.015). 결론: 예방 항생제를 사용하는 환자에서 코인두강 MRSA 집락이 PEG 시술 부위 감염에 영향을 미치지 않았으며, 당뇨병은 시술 부위 감염의 위험인자였다. Background/Aims: Peristomal infection is the most common complication of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) insertion. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is the most commonly implicated organism of peristomal infection. The aims of this study were to determine the contribution of nasal MRSA to wound infection in PEG and the predictors of wound infection. Methods: A prospective study was conducted on patients undergoing PEG between September 2003 and July 2005. All patients received antibiotics prior to PEG insertion. Nasal swabs were taken from a consecutive series of patients prior to PEG insertion. Wound status of the peristomal site were prospectively evaluated at day 1, 3, and 7 following the insertion of PEG. Results: Thirty-one patients underwent PEG insertion (mean age, 66±16 years). Ten patients (32.3%) had MRSA-positive nasal swabs. Peristomal infection did not have any relationship with nasal MRSA colonization (p>0.05). Peristomal infection occurred in 4 (12.9%) cases. The rate of peristomal infections was significantly higher in patients with diabetes mellitus (p<0.05). Conclusions: Nasal MRSA colonization is not associated with the risk of peristomal infections in patients receiving antibiotics prior to PEG insertion. Diabetes mellitus might be the risk factor for peristomal infection after PEG insertion. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2007;49:225-230)

        This study was conducted to estimated the egg components of variation according to weeks of age in Native and Improved fowl. The results obtained were as follows : 1. The mean weights of whole egg, yolk, dense white, thin weight, and egg shell were lighter in Native than Improved fowl, but, their percentage to whole egg weight were the same, respectively. 2. In Native fowl, the standard errors of all sorts of trait were a little low than Improved fowl. These mean that the Native fowls were more adaptable to unsuited management, or shown lower performance to suited environment than Improved fowl. 3. The phenotypic correlation coefficients between whole egg weight and weights of yolk, dense white, thin white, and egg shell were range of 0.842-0.992 in Native, and 0.865-0.985 in Improved fowl. These mean that we could be improve these traits effectively by the method of indirect selection based on whole egg weight. 4. As the mean of egg shell thickness in Native fowl is 0.362㎜, it seems to be enough to marketing level. 5. Regression coefficients of all sorts of traits on egg weight were a little low in Native than Improved fowl. It indicates that the all sorts of egg trait were loosed gain compares with the whole egg weight increased.

        The content and structure of connective tissue which is dominated by collagen fibers make a large contribution to toughness of old animal meat. Collagen has an unusual amino acid composition. The major amino acids in the protein are glycine (as much as 35%), alanine, proline and hydroxyproline. The solubility of collagen decreases as the increases of proline and hydroxyproline contents and the degree of crosslinking of the protein, which impaires meat quality. The deterioration of meat quality by collagen seems not to be controlled by breeding, but is associated with the physioligical condition and age of animal. Although toughness of old animal meat can be improved by the use of collagenase or organic acids, it is not and ultimate solution. To improve meat quality of old animal more research is require on the structural change of collagen with age and the development of potent collagen-degrading substances.

      • 凍結保護劑의 濃度와 平衡時間이 생쥐의 正常胚 및 分割胚의 體外發達에 미치는 影響

        This study was carried out to investigate the effects of cyroprotectant concentration and equilibration time on in vitro development of intact and bisected mouse embryos by rapid freezing. When compacted morulae were rapidly frozen in 3.0 to 4.0 M glycerol or DMSO with 0.25 M sucrose solution, the superior(P<0.05) post-thaw survival rate was obtained at the glycerol concentration of 4.0 M(89.4%) than 3.0 M(71.4%) or 5.0 M(42.4%), and at the DMSO concentration 3.0 M(84.5%) than 4.0 M(51.1%) or 5.0 M(0.0%). The optimal equilibration time for rapid freezing of ZP-free or bisected morulae in 4.0 M glycerol with 0.25 M sucrose was found to be 3 minutes. Compacted morulae was obtained from equilibration for 3 minutes in both 3.0 and 4.0 M glycerol solutions with 0.25 M sucrose.

      • 생쥐의 正常胚 및 分割胚의 生存性에 緩慢凍結法이 미치는 影響

        This study was carried out to investage the effects of cryoprotection and cell stages on the survival of intact and bisected mouse embryos following slow freezing. The number of blastomeres in the in vitro developing mouse embryos was counted after nuclei staining with Hoechst 33342. The post-thaw survival rates of intact 8-cell embryos, compacted morulae and blastocysts after slow freezing in 1.5 M glycerol were 62.8, 76.8 and 60.0%, and those in 1.5 M DMSO were 64.4, 75.6 and 57.6%, respectively. The survival rates of ZP-free or bisected morulae after slow freezing in 1.5 M glycerol were 60.5 and 48.6%, respectively. The number of blastomeres of fresh and frozen compacted morulae was 53.6±1.3 and 40.0±1.0 following in vitro culture for 24 to 28 hours, respectively (P<0.05). The mean number of blastomeres of bisected and bisected-frozen compacted morulae following in vitro culture for 24 to 28 hours was 25.0±1.0 and 21.8±0.8, respectively. When 531 fresh and 282 frozen embryos were transferred to 46 and 23 recipient mice, 143(26.9%) and 57(21.7%) embryos developed to normal offspring, respectively. Of 130 bisected and 66 bisected-frozen embryos transferred to 15 and 12 recipient mice, 19(14.6%) and 5(7.6%) embryos developed to normal offspring, respectively.
