Design and Development of a Single-photon Laser and Infrared Common Aperture Optical System

A single-photon laser and mid-wave infrared (MWIR) common aperture optical system was designed and developed to detect and range a long-distance civil aviation aircraft. The secondary mirror of the Ritchey-Chretien (R-C) optical system was chosen as a dichroic lens to realize the design of a common aperture system for the laser and MWIR. Point spread function (PSF) ellipticity was introduced to evaluate the coupling efficiency of the laser receiving system. A small aperture stop and narrow filter were set in the secondary image plane and an afocal light path of the laser system, respectively, and the stray light suppression ability of the small aperture stop was verified by modeling and simulation. With high-precision manufacturing technology by single point diamond turning (SPDT) and a high-efficiency dichroic coating, the laser/MWIR common aperture optical system with a φ300 mm aluminum alloy mirror obtained images of buildings at a distance of 5 km with great quality. A civil aviation aircraft detection experiment was conducted. The results show that the common aperture system could detect and track long-distance civil aviation aircraft effectively, and the coverage was more than 450 km (signal-tonoise ratio = 6.3). It satisfied the application requirements for earlier warning and ranging of long-range targets in the area of aviation, aerospace and ground detection systems.
Wear-life analysis of deep groove ball bearings based on Archard wear theory

A quasi-dynamic method is proposed to evaluate the characteristics of ball bearings, which include pressure distribution over the contact area between the ball and the raceway, sliding velocity distribution, and lubrication parameters. The extent of permissible wear is confirmed based on the Archard wear equation. A mathematical model for wear-life analysis is then presented for 6000 deep groove ball bearings with axial loads. The effects of axial loads, rotating speed, and structural parameters on wear characteristics of bearings are analyzed. A number of conclusions are drawn. Based on the proposed mathematical model, the wear life of a bearing decreases with increased axial load. The wear life of the bearing decreases as the rotational speed of the inner ring increases. The wear life of the bearing exhibits nearly linear increment as the groove curvature of the inner ring increases and decreases as the groove curvature of the outer ring increases.

By using miniature SENB specimens, the fracture properties of the materials in the region of welded metal, 321 stainless steel heat affected zone, 690 alloy heat affected zone of 321/690 dissimilar metal girth welded joints were tested. Both the J-resistance curves and critical fracture toughness of the three different materials are affected by the crack size because of the effect of crack tip constraint. Groups of constraint corrected J-resistance curves of the three materials are obtained according to J-Q-M approach. The welded metals exhibit the best fracture resistance but the worst fracture resistance is observed in the material of 690 alloy heat affected zone.
Effect of Brewing Conditions on Taste Components of Keemun Black Tea

Tasting and quality components of tea infusion are the important standard of tea quality. The chemicals of tea infusion influent the sanitarian function and quality, and also are key factors of products for consumers. The effects of brewing time and temperature on extractability of Keemun black tea were studied. The results showed that the contents of tea polyphenols, theaflavins, thearubigins and caffeine were obviously affected by temperature at 80℃, however, no significant effect on the other components. The results also showed that the TP/AA ratio content, suggested that 80℃ boiling water could brew best taste in Keemun black tea.

Two new meroterpenoids, arisugacins I (1) andJ (2), together with five known meroterpenoids includingarisugacin B (3), arisugacin F (4), arisugacin G (5), territremB (6) and territrem C (7) were isolated from anendophytic fungus Penicillium sp. SXH-65. Their structureswere determined by extensive spectroscopic experimentsand comparison with literature data. Theircytotoxicities were evaluated against Hela, HL-60 andK562 cell lines, and only 3 and 4 exhibited weak cytotoxicitiesagainst Hela, HL-60 and K562 cell lines withIC50 values ranging from 24 to 60 lM.

Streptococcus suis serotype 2 (SS2) is an important zoonotic pathogen that can infect humans in contact with infected pigs or their byproducts. It can employ different types of genes to defend against oxidative stress and ensure its survival. The thioredoxin (Trx) system is a key antioxidant system that contributes adversity adaptation and pathogenicity. SS2 has been shown to encode putative thioredoxin genes, but the biological roles, coding sequence, and underlying mechanisms remains uncharacterized. Here, we demonstrated that SSU05_0237-ORF, from a clinical SS2 strain, ZJ081101, encodes a protein of 104 amino acids with a canonical CGPC active motif and an identity 70–85% similar to the thioredoxin A (TrxA) in other microorganisms. Recombinant TrxA efficiently catalyzed the thiol-disulfide oxidoreduction of insulin. The deletion of TrxA led to a significantly slow growth and markedly compromised tolerance of the pathogen to temperature stress, as well as impaired adhesion ability to pig intestinal epithelial cells (IPEC-J2). However, it was not involved in H2O2 and paraquat-induced oxidative stress. Compared with the wild-type strain, the ΔTrxA strain was more susceptible to killing by macrophages through increasing NO production. Treatment with TrxA mutant strain also significantly attenuated cytotoxic effects on RAW 264.7 cells by inhibiting inflammatory response and apoptosis. Knockdown of pentraxin 3 in RAW 264.7 cells was more vulnerable to phagocytic activity, and TrxA promoted SS2 survival in phagocytic cells depending on pentraxin 3 activity compared with the wild-type strain. Moreover, a co-inoculation experiment in mice revealed that TrxA mutant strain is far more easily cleared from the body than the wild type strain in the period from 8–24 h, and exhibits significantly attenuated oxidative stress and liver injury. In summary, we reveal the important role of TrxA in the pathogenesis of SS2.
