Life prediction of low cycle fatigue under asymmetrical cyclic loading is still open because the mean stress has complex effect on the fatigue life. In this paper, the yield stress is introduced to the mean stress correction model with natural exponential function description and two novel improved versions of the Manson-Coffin model are proposed. Four sets of experimental fatigue data from SAE 1045 steel, 7075-T651 aluminum alloy, GH4133 super alloy and 16MnR steel are used to validate the proposed models, and the results are compared with those from Morrow model, SWT model and Kwofie model. In addition, life predictions of a turbine disc and a blisk in service conditions are implemented by the proposed models. The results show the proposed models have excellent prediction performance for low cycle fatigue life under asymmetrical cyclic loading.

Rice flag leaf is the main photosynthetic organ and plays a key role in grain yield. In this study, 106 loci associated with flag leaf length and width were identified using association mapping in a rice mini core collection. Analyzing the phenotypic effects of each allele represented 156 positive and 167 negative alleles, with a few alleles showing inconsistent effect in different environments. Among the 106 loci, 69 were environment-specific loci, 16 were environmentally stable and 21 were environmentally sensitive. Fifteen associated markers were shared by two traits and were designated as pleiotropic markers. According to the frequency distribution of alleles in different variety types, 343 alleles were categorized into three types based on geographic source and usage in breeding. Among these, 156 were used alleles, 138 were unused and 49 were foreign alleles. The results further our understanding of the genetic mechanisms of flag leaf length and width.
Effect of Cyclic Deep Cryogenic Treatment on Corrosion Resistance of 7075 Alloy

The cyclic deep cryogenic treatment was proposed to improve both the hardness and corrosion resistance of the high strength7075 aluminum alloy. The effect of different CDCT times on the exfoliation corrosion and intergranular corrosion of the alloyswere observed by scanning electron microscope. The corrosion behaviors of the alloys were monitored by electrochemicaltechniques. The hardness of the alloy was measured by Vickers hardness tester. Furthermore, the microstructures of thealloys were examined by transmission electron microscope. The results show that the corrosion resistance and hardness arestrongly affected by the precipitate state. The discontinuous grain boundary precipitates and the wide precipitate free zoneswill enhance the corrosion resistance. The fine precipitates distributed evenly in the matrix can increase the hardness. Afterthe CDCT, the corrosion resistance is remarkably improved without sacrificing the hardness. The best combination of thehardness and corrosion resistance is exhibited for the alloy treated with the CDCT twice.
