      • Combined Gene Therapy with Hypoxia-Inducible Factor-1α and Heme Oxygenase-1 for Therapeutic Angiogenesis

        <P>Transfection with either hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) or heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) gene can induce neovascularization in ischemic tissues. Although expression of transfected HIF-1α gene occurs rapidly, the expressed HIF-1α protein degrades quickly, limiting its therapeutic efficacy. Meanwhile, expressed HO-1 protein does not rapidly undergo degradation, but gene expression occurs a couple of days after transfection, resulting in apoptosis and a delay in angiogenesis in ischemic tissues at the incipient period of HO-1 gene transfection. We hypothesize that combined delivery of HIF-1α and HO-1 gene will enhance antiapoptosis and neovascularization in ischemic tissue compared with HIF-1α or HO-1 single-gene therapy. To test this hypothesis, ischemic mouse hindlimbs were treated with HIF-1α and/or HO-1 gene therapy. The combined gene therapy proved superior to both single-gene therapies, resulting in rapid expression of HIF-1α gene and long-term maintenance of expressed HO-1 protein. The apoptosis in the ischemic region was significantly less, and angiogenic growth factor secretion and angiogenesis were greater in the combined gene therapy than in either of the single-gene therapies. Our results suggest that a combined gene therapy of HIF-1α and HO-1 enhances the transfection of both genes and improves angiogenesis compared with either single-gene therapy.</P>

        산성 불소가 복합레진 표면에 미치는 영향

        복합레진 수복은 치아우식 및 치아우식 예방치료를 위한 대표적인 술식으로 소아치과 영역에서 널리 시행되고 있으며 불소도포는 치아우식 예방을 위한 대표적인 술식으로 1년에 2번 정도 실시되고 있다. 하지만 이러한 이점에도 불구하고 Acidulated phosphate fluoride(APF)가 복합 레진의 표면을 거칠게 한다는 부작용에 대한 논란이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 불소도포가 복합레진의 표면에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위해 시판용 레진인 Solitaire 2^(®)(Heraeus Kulzer, Germany), Metafil CX^(®)(Sun medical, Japan), Composan LCM^(®)(Promedica, Germany), Charmseal^(®)(DenKist, Korea)을 이용하여 시편을 제작하고, 불소젤은 Topex^(®)(Sultan Dental Products, Canada)를 각각 1분과 4분동안 도포시킨 후 변화를 관찰하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 불소젤을 도포시키지 않은 대조군에서 가장 평활한 표면을 보였으며 1분군, 4분군 순으로 표면 거칠기가 증가하였다. 그리고 Composan LCM^(®)을 제외한 모든 제품에서 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<0.05). 2. 국소도포용 불소젤을 도포한 각 레진 시편의 무게 차이를 비교한 결과 대조군, 1분군, 4분군 간에 유의한 차이는 없었다(p>0.05). 3. 주사전자현미경 관찰시 불소젤을 도포시킨 실험군은 대조군에 비해 거친 표면을 나타내었다. Composite resin restorations are widely used to restore decayed teeth or preventive restoration in children. Children often receive topical fluoride treatments on a semiannual basis. However there is concern that topical acidulated phosphate fluorides (APF) may cause deterioration of composite resins. The aim of this study was to evaluate the surface changes in composite resins due to topical fluoride application. Composite resins(Solitaire 2^(®), Metafil CX^(®), Composan LCM^(®), Charmseal^(®)) in topical fluoride agents were immersed and their surface roughness, weight loss and SEM findings were evaluated. The results were as follows: 1. The 4 minutes-immersion group showed more roughened surface than 1 minute-immersion group and the control group showed the smoothest surface among all the materials, and there was statistically significant difference between the groups except the Composan LCM^(®)(P<0.05). 2. There was no significant difference between the 1 minute-immersion group and 4 minutes-immersion group in weight loss (P>0.05). 3. The experimental group treated with topical fluoride gel showed generally more roughened surface than control group in the SEM findings.

        성장기 아동에서 전치부 개교의 치료증례 : A CASE FEPORT

        전치부 개교는 중심 교합시 수직선상에서 상하악 전치간에 교합이 되지 않는 상태이며, 부정교합의 특성과 원인이 치료계획에 중요한 역할을 한다. 혼합 치열기에 전치부 개교의 치료 목적은 악습관을 조절하고 입 주위 근육의 비정상적인 기능을 제거하며, 악정형 장치를 통해 하악의 수직성장을 수평성장으로 전환하는 것이며, 치료 후의 안정성을 위해 계속적인 관찰이 필요하다. 본 증례에서는 혀내밀기 습관이 동반된 전치부 개교 환아의 치료를 위해 습관을 차단하는 tongue crib과 그 밖에 다양한 가철성 및 고정성 장치를 사용하여 양호한 결과를 얻었기에 보고하는 바이다. Anterior open bite is defined as the lack of contacts between the functional occluding teeth on vertical line at centric occlusion and classified into functional and skeletal anterior open bite based on its causes and characteristics. In mixed dentition, habit control and the elimination of abnormal perioral muscle function and moving the vertical direction development to the sagittal direction of the mandible by the functional appliance is a goal of treatment. This study presents the effective interception of oral habit by the tongue crib and functional-fixed treatment and treatment response of open bite related to tongue thrust habit.

      • 고성능 표면탄성파 필터의 최적 설계에 관한 연구

        본 논문에서는 고성능 표면탄성파 필터의 최적 설계를 위하여 다양한 IDT(interdigital transducer) 구조의 필터를 제작하고 각각의 주파수 응답특성을 비교 분석하였다. 기본 구조외에 MSC(micro strip-coupler), double split, reflector, ground line 등의 구조를 일반적으로 널리 사용되고 있는 Y-Z cut l-N(LiNbO3) 기판 위에 형성시켰다. 제작된 소자의 중심주파수, 통과 대역, 삽입손실등을 측정하였으며, 주파수 응답에 기초한 기존 모델의 효용성을 논의하였다. Effects of IDT structures on frequency responses of SAW filters are investigated to achieve a high performance SAW filter, Various types of IDTS, such as MSC(multistrip-coupler), double split, reflector, and ground line, are designed and patterned on a widely used Y-Z cut LN(LiNbO3) substrate. Center frequencies, band widths, and insertion losses are measured and compared. Invalidity of the conventional model based on the impulse response model is also discussed.

      • Global-MAHN에서 라우팅 오버헤드 개선에 대한 연구

        In this Paper, we studied the mechanism that increases the network reliability and decreases network load in GMAHN environment based on the AODV routing protocol. This proposed algorithm is the research on the algorithm, minimizing network overhead by preventing unnecessary network overhead previously and adapting Local repair mechanism to efficient data transmission when route error happens in network, in GMAHN environment. To evaluate the proposed algorithm's performance, we analyzed the proposed algorithm and adapting in various experiment environment according to 5 experiment viewpoint such as node movement, gateway network zone, mobile node number, flow number. After evaluating the experiment, we confirmed better network improvement altogether through following result such as total average data reception rate's increase, average data transmission time's decrease, network overhead's decrease than existing GMAHN algorithm.

        Recently, GMAHN that provides interface between MANET and Wired Network has been focused in Mobile Communication. It is necessary that The technology provide reliable data transmission technology between mobile node and wired network in MANET environment that varing by the node movement. In this paper, using the TCP protocol(Tahoe, Reno, Vegas, SACK)that increases reliability between source and destination, we applied the TCP protocol mechanism to various environment, and compared result, and also proposed the efficient TCP mechanism by comparing each mechanism.

        THE STATUS AND PROSPECT OF DUPIC FUEL TECHNOLOGY

        Since 1991, Korea, Canada and United States have performed the direct use of spent pressurized water reactor (PWR) fuel in the Canada deuterium uranium (CANDU) reactors (DUPIC) fuel development project. Unlike the Tandem fuel cycle, which requires a wet reprocessing, the DUPIC fuel technology can directly refabricate CANDU fuels from the PWR spent fuel and, therefore, is recognized as a highly proliferation-resistant fuel cycle technology, which can be adopted even in non-proliferation treaty countries. The Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) has fabricated DUPIC fuel elements in a laboratory-scale remote fuel fabrication facility. KAERI has demonstrated the fuel performance in the research reactor, and has confirmed the operational feasibility and safety of a CANDU reactor loaded with the DUPIC fuel using conventional design and analysis tools, which will be the foundation of the future practical and commercial uses of DUPIC fuel.

        수요의 불확실성과 현금 흐름을 고려한 공급망 관리의 민감도 분석에 관한 연구

        Supply chains faces various uncertainties such as demand, manufacturing and supply uncertainties. In this study, we consider both normal demand variation and sudden change in demand as risk factors in a supply chain. Capacity is adjusted by hiring and firing workforce to mitigate the impact of demand uncertainty in consideration of cash flow. A mixed-integer linear programming model is developed and numerical experiments are conducted to investigate the impact of uncertain demand in terms of inventory level, cash flow, debt ratio, and bankruptcy. The results show that safety stock of a focal company has less effect on cash flow of suppliers in the case of normal demand variation. Also, it is observed that the sudden change in demand worsens cash flow and causes bankruptcy and high inventory level in a supply chain. The ratio of production and fixed cost has a significant impact on the performance of a supply chain.
