Results show the significant impact of multicultural faculty members’ job performance in a diverse environment in the Business schools of Karachi. The data is collected through the multi questionnaires from the various teaching, non-teaching staff, and students of private business schools of Karachi in Pakistan. The data has been tested through the Jamovi-by-medmod, and the regression model is to scrutinize and find the effect dependent variables to mediation. Simultaneously, results are calculated by mediation estimates and path estimates through the medmod technic and regression test from data. It provides a comprehensive insight into various factors such as personality traits, self-efficiency, Psychological diversity climate, self-esteem, and human resource management practices. These are the primary evaluated factors that affect multicultural faculty members’ job satisfaction and job performance. However, results show a positive relationship between diversity climate and job performance, which mediates by job satisfaction. Similarly, personality traits show a positive relationship with job performance that mediates by job satisfaction. Correspondingly, self-esteem spectacles are a positive inter-relationship with job performance which is mediated by job satisfaction.

      • Lack of CHEK2 Gene Mutations in Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma Patients using High Resolution Melting Analysis

Fayaz, Shima,Fard-Esfahani, Pezhman,Torbati, Peyman Mohammadi Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.12

Recently, mutations in the genes involved in cell cycle control, including CHEK2, are being considered as etiological factors in different kinds of cancers. The CHEK2 protein plays an important role in protecting damaged DNA from entering mitosis. In this study the potential effects of two common mutations $IVS2+1G{\rightarrow}A$ and Ile157Thr of CHEK2 gene in differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) were evaluated. A total of 100 patients admitted to the Research Institute for Nuclear Medicine were diagnosed with DTC based on pathology reports of surgery samples. An additional 100 people were selected as a control group with no cancer history. PCR-HRM (high resolution melting) analysis was performed to deal with each of mutations in all case and control samples separately. During the analysis of $IVS2+1G{\rightarrow}A$ and Ile157Thr mutations of CHEK2 gene in the case and control groups, all the samples were identified as wild homozygote type. The finding suggests that $IVS2+1G{\rightarrow}A$ and Ile157Thr mutations of CHEK2 gene do not constitute a risk factor for DTC in the Iranian population. However, further studies with larger population are required to confirm the outcome.

Financial Distress Prediction Using Adaboost and Bagging in Pakistan Stock Exchange

Fayaz Hussain TUNIO,Yi DING,Amad Nabi AGHA,Kinza AGHA,Hafeez Ur Rehman Zubair PANHWAR 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.1

Default has become an extreme concern in the current world due to the financial crisis. The previous prediction of companies’ bankruptcy exhibits evidence of decision assistance for financial and regulatory bodies. Notwithstanding numerous advanced approaches, this area of study is not outmoded and requires additional research. The purpose of this research is to find the best classifier to detect a company’s default risk and bankruptcy. This study used secondary data from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and it is time-series data to examine the impact on the determinants. This research examined several different classifiers as per their competence to properly categorize default and non-default Pakistani companies listed on the PSX. Additionally, PSX has remained consistent for some years in terms of growth and has provided benefits to its stockholders. This paper utilizes machine learning techniques to predict financial distress in companies listed on the PSX. Our results indicate that most multi-stage mixture of classifiers provided noteworthy developments over the individual classifiers. This means that firms will have to work on the financial variables such as liquidity and profitability to not fall into the category of liquidation. Moreover, Adaptive Boosting (Adaboost) provides a significant boost in the performance of each classifier.

      • Increased Risk of Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma with Combined Effects of Homologous Recombination Repair Gene Polymorphisms in an Iranian Population

Fayaz, Shima,Karimmirza, Maryam,Tanhaei, Shokoofeh,Fathi, Mozhde,Torbati, Peyman Mohammadi,Fard-Esfahani, Pezhman Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.11

Homologous recombination (HR) repair has a crucial role to play in the prevention of chromosomal instability, and it is clear that defects in some HR repair genes are associated with many cancers. To evaluate the potential effect of some HR repair gene polymorphisms with differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC), we assessed Rad51 (135G>C), Rad52 (2259C>T), XRCC2 (R188H) and XRCC3 (T241M) polymorphisms in Iranian DTC patients and cancer-free controls. In addition, haplotype analysis and gene combination assessment were carried out. Genotyping of Rad51 (135G>C), Rad52 (2259C>T) and XRCC3 (T241M) polymorphisms was determined by PCR-RFLP and PCR-HRM analysis was carried out to evaluate XRCC2 (R188H). Separately, Rad51, Rad52 and XRCC2 polymorphisms were not shown to be more significant in patients when compared to controls in crude, sex-adjusted and age-adjusted form. However, results indicated a significant difference in XRCC3 genotypes for patients when compared to controls (p value: 0.035). The GCTG haplotype demonstrated a significant difference (p value: 0.047). When compared to the wild type, the combined variant form of Rad52/XRCC2/XRCC3 revealed an elevated risk of DTC (p value: 0.007). It is recommended that Rad52 2259C>T, XRCC2 R188H and XRCC3 T241M polymorphisms should be simultaneously considered as contributing to a polygenic risk of differentiated thyroid carcinoma.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A series of novel 1-pentanoyl-3-arylthioureas was designed as new mushroom tyrosinase inhibitors and free radical scavengers. The title compounds were obtained in excellent yield and characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and X-ray crystallography in case of compound (<B>4a</B>). The inhibitory effects on mushroom tyrosinase and DPPH were evaluated and it was observed that 1-Pentanoyl-3-(4-methoxyphenyl) thiourea (<B>4f</B>) showed tyrosinase inhibitory activity (IC50 1.568 ± 0.01 mM) comparable to Kojic acid (IC50 16.051 ± 1.27 mM). Interestingly compound <B>4f</B> exhibited higher antioxidant potential compared to other derivatives. The docking studies of synthesized 1-Pentanoyl-3-arylthioureas analogues were also carried out against tyrosinase protein (PDBID 2ZMX) to compare the binding affinities with IC50 values. The predicted binding affinities are in good agreement with the IC50 values as compound (<B>4f</B>) showed highest binding affinity (−7.50 kcal/mol) compared to others derivatives. The kinetic mechanism analyzed by Line-weavere Burk plots exhibited that compound (<B>4f</B>) inhibit the enzyme inhibits the tyrosinase non-competitively to form an enzyme inhibitor complex. The inhibition constants Ki calculated from Dixon plots for compound (<B>4f</B>) is 1.10 μM. It was also found from kinetic analysis that derivative <B>4f</B> irreversible enzyme inhibitor complex. It is proposed on the basis of our investigation that title compound (<B>4f</B>) may serve as lead structure for the design of more potent tyrosinase inhibitors.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A small library of novel 1-Pentanoyl-3-arylthioureas (<B>4a-4j</B>) synthesized. </LI> <LI> Mushroom tyrosinase inhibition and free radical scavenging activity were evaluated. </LI> <LI> Most of the compounds show excellent activity, particularly <B>4f</B> higher than the standard. </LI> <LI> The kinetic mechanism proposed <B>4f</B> is non-competitive inhibitor of mushroom tyrosinase. </LI> <LI> Molecular docking, druglikeness, Ramachandran graph, Chemo-informatics and Lipinski's rule were studied. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

      • A Robust Technique of Brain MRI Classification using Color Features and K-Nearest Neighbors Algorithm

Muhammad Fayaz,Abdul Salam Shah,Fazli Wahid,Asadullah Shah 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.9 No.10

The analysis of MRI images is a manual process carried by experts which need to be automated to accurately classify the normal and abnormal images. We have proposed a reduced, three staged model having pre-processing, feature extraction and classification steps. In preprocessing the noise has been removed from grayscale images using a median filter, and then grayscale images have been converted to color (RGB) images. In feature extraction, red, green and blue channels from each channel of the RGB has been extracted because they are so much informative and easier to process. The first three color moments mean, variance, and skewness are calculated for each red, green and blue channel of images. The features extracted in the feature extraction stage are classified into normal and abnormal with K-Nearest Neighbors (k-NN). This method is applied to 100 images (70 normal, 30 abnormal). The proposed method gives 98.00% training and 95.00% test accuracy with datasets of normal images and 100% training and 90.00% test accuracy with abnormal images. The average computation time for each image was .06s.

Investigation on the effect of alkyl chain linked mono-thioureas as Jack bean urease inhibitors, SAR, pharmacokinetics ADMET parameters and molecular docking studies

        Larik, Fayaz Ali,Faisal, Muhammad,Saeed, Aamer,Channar, Pervaiz Ali,Korabecny, Jan,Jabeen, Farukh,Mahar, Ihsan Ali,Kazi, Mehar Ali,Abbas, Qamar,Murtaza, Ghulam,Khan, Gul Shahzada,Hassan, Mubashir,Seo, Academic Press 2019 Bioorganic chemistry Vol.86 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The increasing resistance of pathogens to common antibiotics, as well as the need to control urease activity to improve the yield of soil nitrogen fertilization in agricultural applications, has stimulated the development of novel classes of molecules that target urease as an enzyme. In this context, the newly developed compounds on the basis of 1-heptanoyl-3-arylthiourea family were evaluated for Jack bean urease enzyme inhibition activity to validate their role as potent inhibitors of this enzyme. 1-Heptanoyl-3-arylthioureas were obtained in excellent yield and characterized through spectral and elemental analysis. All the compounds displayed remarkable potency against urease inhibition as compared to thiourea standard. It was found that novel compounds fulfill the criteria of drug-likeness by obeying Lipinski’s rule of five. Particularly compound <B>4a</B> and <B>4c</B> can serve as lead molecules in 4D (drug designing discovery and development). Kinetic mechanism and molecular docking studies also carried out to delineate the mode of inhibition and binding affinity of the molecules.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A new family of 1-heptanoyl-3-arylthioureas (<B>4a-4j</B>) was synthesized in excellent yield. </LI> <LI> The synthesized 1-heptanoyl-3-arylthiourea family were evaluated for Jack bean urease enzyme inhibition activity. </LI> <LI> Particularly compound <B>4a</B> and <B>4c</B> can serve as lead molecules in 4D (drug designing discovery and development). </LI> <LI> Kinetic mechanism and molecular docking studies also carried out to delineate the mode of inhibition and binding affinity. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

The Impact of Capital Account Openness on Income Inequality: Empirical Evidence from Asia

Imran ULLAH,Fayaz Hussain TUNIO,Zia ULLLAH,Agha Amad NABI 한국유통과학회 2022 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.9 No.2

The relationship between income inequality and capital account openness is empirically investigated in this study, where macroeconomic variables have opposing effects. Panel data used in the study from the KAOPEN Index and World Bank consists of 28 Asian countries and has been examined; it contains annual observations from 1970 to 2018. The data is examined using a random-effect model based on GMM estimates. Income inequality and capital account openness are positively and significantly related, according to our findings. Overall, the findings imply that increasing income gaps reduced capital investment in nations with large discrepancies. The growing economic discrepancy is being caused by the rich’s increasing income share at the expense of the poor. In Asia, inward capital account openness exacerbates income inequality, while outward capital account openness exacerbates it. As a result, income inequality slows economic growth, leading to inflation, unemployment, and increased government spending in several Asian countries. Our control factors, GDP, and other secondary school enrolments, all had a statistically significant negative relationship with income inequality. Income disparity has a positive and statistically significant association with government spending, inflation, population, trade openness, and unemployment. Income disparity has a negative association with capital account openness, gross domestic product, and secondary school enrollment.

      • LSTM based Supply Imbalance Detection and Identification in Loaded Three Phase Induction Motors

Majid, Hussain,Fayaz Ahmed, Memon,Umair, Saeed,Babar, Rustum,Kelash, Kanwar,Abdul Rafay, Khatri International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2023 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.23 No.1

Mostly in motor fault detection the instantaneous values 3 axis vibration and 3phase current in time domain are acquired and converted to frequency domain. Vibrations are more useful in diagnosing the mechanical faults and motor current has remained more useful in electrical fault diagnosis. With having some experience and knowledge on the behavior of acquired data the electrical and mechanical faults are diagnosed through signal processing techniques or combine machine learning and signal processing techniques. In this paper, a single-layer LSTM based condition monitoring system is proposed in which the instantaneous values of three phased motor current are firstly acquired in simulated motor in in health and supply imbalance conditions in each of three stator currents. The acquired three phase current in time domain is then used to train a LSTM network, which can identify the type of fault in electrical supply of motor and phase in which the fault has occurred. Experimental results shows that the proposed single layer LSTM algorithm can identify the electrical supply faults and phase of fault with an average accuracy of 88% based on the three phase stator current as raw data without any processing or feature extraction.
