Optimization techniques to find a path of an inner reinforcement of pannel structure is proposed by using design sensitivity informations. The strength and modal characteristics of the panel structure are analyzed and their initial design sensitivity analyses with respect to the thickness are carried out by MSC/Nastran. Based on the initial design sensitivity analyses, possibilitis to choose design variables and response functions are discussed. Design improvement techniques from design sensitivity coefficients are suggested and the double-layer method is newly proposed to optimize the path of stiffener for a hood. Using the suggested methods. we redesign a new inner reinforcement of the hood and compare the responses with the original design. It could be confirmed that new design is improved in the responses without the weight increasement.<br/>

Background: Aptamers are currently being used in various fields including medical treatments due to their characteristics of selectively binding to specific molecules. Due to their special characteristics, the aptamers are expected to be used to remove radionuclides from a large amount of liquid radioactive waste generated during the decommissioning of nuclear power plants. The radiological effects on the aptamers should be evaluated to ensure their integrity for the application of a radionuclide removal technique. Materials and Methods: In this study, Monte Carlo N-Particle transport code version 6 (MCNP6) and Monte Carlo damage simulation (MCDS) codes were employed to evaluate the radiological effects on the aptamers. MCNP6 was used to evaluate the secondary electron spectrum and the absorbed dose in a medium. MCDS was used to calculate the DNA damage by using the secondary electron spectrum and the absorbed dose. Binding experiments were conducted to indirectly verify the results derived by MCNP6 and MCDS calculations. Results and Discussion: Damage yields of about 5.00×10-4 were calculated for 100 bp aptamer due to the radiation dose of 1 Gy. In experiments with radioactive materials, the results that the removal rate of the radioactive 60Co by the aptamer is the same with the non-radioactive 59Co prove the accuracy of the previous DNA damage calculation. Conclusion: The evaluation results suggest that only very small fraction of significant number of the aptamers will be damaged by the radioactive materials in the liquid radioactive waste.

<P>We present a simple, versatile approach to generate highly ordered nanostructures of block copolymers (BCPs) using rubbed surfaces. A block of poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (PTFE) was dragged across a flat substrate surface above the melting point of PTFE transferring a highly aligned PTFE topographic pattern to the substrate. Si wafer, glass, and polyimide films were used as substrates. Thin films of cylinder-forming asymmetric polystyrene-<I>block</I>-poly(2-vinylpyridine) copolymers (S2VPs) were solvent annealed on the surfaces having the transferred surface pattern to induce their directed self-assembly. <P>We fabricated hybrid poly(3-hexylthiophene) nano fibers (P3HT NFs) with rigid backbone organization through the self-assembly of P3HT tethered to gold NPs (P3HT-Au NPs) in an azeotropic mixture of tetrahydrofuran and chloroform. We found that the rigidity of the P3HT chains derives from the tethering of the P3HT chains to the Au NPs and the control of the solubility of P3HT in the solvent. This unique nanostructure of hybrid P3HT NFs self-assembled in an azeotropic mixture exhibits significantly increased delocalization of singlet (S-1) excitons compared to those of pristine and hybrid P3HT NFs self assembled in a poor solvent for P3HT. This strategy for the self-assembly of P3HT-Au NPs that generate long-lived S1 excitons can also be applied to other crystalline conjugated polymers and NPs in various solvents and thus enables improvements in the efficiency of optoelectronic devices.</P>

In order to find therapeutic agents for porcine pneumonia, we screened for antibacterial activities of methanol extracts of 81 higher plants against four pathogenic microorganisms of Heamophilus parasuis, Pasteurella multocida, Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia, and Bordetella bronchiseptica, and found the bark of Cinnamomi cortex showed potent activities. Since this was inexpensive, we purified active compounds from it. The structures of the final active fractions were obtained through an activity-guided fractionation and their antibacterial activities are reported here.

<P>We investigated the photophysical interaction between a conjugated polymer (CP) and a plasmonic gold nanoparticle (Au NP) using transient absorption spectroscopy. We prepared a hybrid system containing CP-stabilized Au NPs by reducing a Au precursor directly with a thiol-terminated poly(3-hexylthiophene) surfactant (P3HT-SH), with the unreacted P3HT-SH chains used as an organic matrix. The P3HT attached to the Au NPs plays two critical roles in our hybrid system: it suppresses exciton quenching from the P3HT matrix to Au NPs (the spacer role) and relays hot electrons induced by surface plasmon resonance of Au NPs to P3HT (the bridge role). Thus, singlet excitons are more slowly relaxed in our hybrid system than those in a neat P3HT film. Our findings may provide important information for development of the high-efficiency hybrid optoelectronic devices.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

변호활동의 보장은 형사소송법이 그 이념으로 하고 있는 인권의 존중과 보장을 위한 실질적 기반이 된다. 중국 형사소송법이 2012년에 개정되어 올해부터 시행되고 있다. 신 형사소송법에서는 중국 형사절차에서 새롭게 규정되는 조문과 제도들이 많이 있지만, 그 중에서도 변호인의 역할과 권한이 확대된 것은 중요한 의미가 있는 발전이다. 특히 형사변호인이 수사단계에서 선임될 수 있도록 하여 변호인의 형사절차 개입시기를 앞당기고, 접견교통권의 실질적 보장을 위한 규정과 실질적 변호활동을 위한 열람권 등을 규정하였다. 또한 구속절차 피고인신문 단계에서 변호인의 의견제출 권한, 국선변호제도 등 법률원조제도의 확대 등을 통하여 중국 형사소송절차가 피의자, 피고인의 정당한 권익을 제도적으로 보장한 것은 그동안의 학계와 실무계의 입장을 반영한 것이라고 할 수 있다. 현대 형사소송법은 변호제도의 완성이라는 가늠자를 통하여 그 절차의 진보여하를 판단할 수 있다고 해도 지나치지 않는다. 이를 위해서는 중국의 형사소송절차에서 변호인의 피의자신문참여권, 변호사의 진실의무 등에 관한 제도적 개선점 등을 고려할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 중국 사회의 변화가 추진해내는 제도와 소송구조의 변화를 읽을 수 있는 신 형사소송법 개정이 시사하는 법률적 의미와 문제점을 분석하였다. A guarntee of defense activities is a practical foundation for respect and guarantee of human right, idea of criminal procedure law. The China Criminal Procedure Law amended in 2012 came into force this year. The amended China Criminal Procedure Law includes renewed provisions and systems in criminal procedures, and an expansion of role and right of a counsel is a significant improvement. Specifically this amendment enables an appointment of criminal attorney at the investigation stage, moving up attorney’s intervention into criminal procedure and includes a provision for practical guarantee of right to contact attorney as well as a provision for right to inspection for practical defense activities. It is not too much to say that the advancement of modern criminal procedure law can be judged by a backsight, the completion of defense system. For this purpose, institutional improvement including right to counsel and duty to the truth should be considered. This paper analyze legal implications and problems of the amended China Criminal Procedure, which read the changes of systems and litigation structure caused by those of Chinese society.
