Incisional Hernia in Adult Liver Transplant Recipients

Aims: Incisional hernia is one of the complication following abdominal operation. Patients undergoing liver transplantation have a high risk of developing an incisional hernia because of immunosuppression. The purpose of this study is to review incisional hernia cases after liver transplantation and to identify the risk factors for hernia formation. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed and analyzed the medical records of the ninety-four incisional hernia patients after liver transplant recipients from January 2000 to December 2015 in single center institution. Results: 1463 underwent adult liver transplantation during the study period. 94 Incisional hernia patients were found among them. The overall incisional hernia rate was 6.4 %. Mean age was 54 years old and 76.6 % were men. No significant difference was observed for sex, diagnosis, smoking, alcohol, albumin, Child-Pugh score, MELD score, intensive care unit stay, hepatorenal syndrome, ventilator, spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, diabetes, bile leakage, wound problems between patients with incisional hernia and patients without incisional hernia. The characteristics of patients with incisional hernia showed old recipient, more body weight, higher body mass index, living donor recipient compared with patients without incisional hernia. Hypertension, tuberculosis, rejection, postoperative complication event before hernia were significant risk factor (p<0.05). Conclusions: Present study identifies the risk factors for incisional hernia. Surgeons should strive to reduce the risk of incisional hernia after adult liver transplantation.

At present, industry and researchers are looking for ways to reduce the use of lubricants because of ecological and economical reasons. Therefore, metal cutting is to move toward dry cutting or semi-dry cutting. This paper presents an investigation into MQL(Minimum Quantity Lubrication) machining with the objective of deriving the optimum cutting conditions for the turning process of SM45C. To reach these goals several finish turning experiments were carried out, varying cutting speed, feed rate and oil quantity, with MQL. The surface roughness results of tests were measured and the effects of cutting conditions were analyzed by the method of Analysis of Variance(ANOVA). From the experimental results and ANOVA, it is found that a better surface roughness can be obtained by decreasing oil quantity and feed rate.
3차원 Bending Machine 설계 및 신뢰성 평가에 관한 연구

This study is concerned about the development of a three-dimensional bending machine for heat exchanger. Recently, three-dimensional bending is required for various heat exchangers. The purpose of this study is the design of a three-dimensional bending machine by analysis of bending process, structural analysis simulation, and reliability evaluation of the machine by using a laser interferometer. The analysis is carried out by FEM simulation using DEFORM and CATLA V5 commercial software. The copper-tube is modeled by shell elements and the machine is modeled by placing proper shell and solid finite elements and fictitious mass properties to represent the real one. In addition, this machine has attained high accuracy repeatability. In order to improve the accuracy of this machine, the repeatability of feed, rotation, and bending are measured by a laser interferometer. The final results of analysis are applied to the design of three-dimensional bending machine and the machine is successfully developed.
진동 신호를 이용한 캠 프로파일 CNC 연삭기의 실험적 평가에 관한 연구

A cam profile grinding machine is a mandatory machine tool for manufacture of high precision contoured cam. Experimental evaluation of modal analysis is an effective tool to investigate dynamic behavior of a machine. This paper presents the measurement system and experimental investigation on the modal analysis of a grinding machine. The weak part of the machine is found by the experimental evaluation. The results provide structure modification data for good dynamic behaviors. And safety of the machine was confirmed by the modal analysis of modified machine design. Finally, the cam profile grinding machine was successfully developed.
인벌류트 곡선의 Biarc Curve Fitting 최적화에 관한 연구

The determination of the optimum biarc curve passing through a given set of points along involute curve is studied. The method adopted is that of finding the optimum number of span and the optimum length of the span such that the error between the biarc curve and involute curve is minimum. Iterative method is effectively used to find the optimum number and length of the span on involute curve with reduced length of NC-code.
DEFORM 소프트웨어를 이용한 전단면의 소성변형해석에 관한 연구

The major objective of the present paper is to establish an analytical technique in order to closely understand and analyze the actual shearing process. Isothermal finite element(FE)-simulation of the shearing process are carried out using FE software DEFORM. The element-kill method has enabled the achievement of FE-simulation from the initial stage to the final stage of the shearing process. The effects of the punch-die clearance on the shearing process are investigated.

This paper presents the effective method for the reduction of electrostatic induced voltages using shielding wires. Overhead Extra High Voltage(EHV) transmission lines generate an electrostatic field, which imposes additional design consideration in order to avoid excessive induced voltages and the other undesirable effects. A 345 KV EHV transmission line was selected as a model system in order to compute electrostatic induced voltages using electronic computers. The electrostatic induced voltages, after setting up shielding wires,showed more considerable reduction than before.

This study is concerned about the development and performance evaluation of a tower type ATC(Automatic Tool Changer). Recently, many studies have been undergoing to reduce working time in field of machine center. Tower type ATC have been developed to reduce the stand-by time by shortening tool exchanging time. The developed system can store more number of tools in small space. In order to evaluate the performance of tower type ATC, feeding speed and noise are measured by a laser interferometer and a noise level meter.

A machining center is a complex dynamic system whose behavior influences the machining stability and machined surface quality. This paper focused on establishment of a measurement system and experimental study on static, dynamic, and modal analysis of a machining center. The dynamic stiffness result by the analysis showed the weak part of the machining center. The results provided structure modification data for getting better dynamic behaviors.

This study has been focused on the development of shear forming process of grid for lead-acid battery. The grid plays an important role in the flow of electricity because the grid is a skeleton of the pasted plate. Therefore, it must be of the highest quality to prevent plate failures and then, battery failure, and ensure the best battery performance possible. The finite element analysis of the shear forming process is carried out and the result is compared with the experimental data. The influence of the numerical parameters such as clearance, velocity of punch and critical damage value on the simulation results turns out to be very considerable.
