The hypoglycemic activity of water extracts of fifty six medicinal plants were evaluated in the streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice. Twelve medical plants have significantly antidiabetic activity ; Mori RADICIS cORTEX, Kwang Fang Chi Radix, Paeoniae Radix, Eugeniae Flos, Atractylodis Rhizoma, Opiopogonis Tuber, Rosae Multiflorae Fructus, Glycyrrhizae Radix, Tetrapanacis Medulla, Bigno, Forsythiae Fructus Sophorae Radix.

The relationships of inhibitory activities of inflammation and wound healing of flavonoids were studied in vitro and in vivo. Generally flavonoids have not only significantly anti-inflammatory activity in carrageenin-induced paw edema and Freund''s complete adjuvant-induced arthritis, but also inhibitory activity of wound healing. The more inhibitory activities Of wound healing flavonoids have. the more they have the anti-inflammatory activities; apigenin > guercetin > flovone > rutin > hesperidin > naringin. Their inhibitory mechanism seems to be inhibition of the inflammatory cell infiltration and fibroblast proliferation, and so they decreased the granulomatous activity and tensile strength.

Hypoglycemic activity of fractions and asarones of Bambusae caulis in Taeniam were studied in normal and streptozotocin-induced hyperglycemic mice. The results were as follows : 1. Asarones were a major principle(0.02%) of essential oil from Bambusae caulis in Taeniam. They were consist of β-(59.16%), γ-(26.03%) and α-asarone(14.81%) 2. The hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol and water fractions of Bambusae caulis in Taeniam at the oral dose of 100㎎/㎏ decreased significantly the blood glucose, body weight loss and water cosumption in hyperglycemic mice. Their ethyl acetate, butanol and water fractions at th oral dose of 100㎎/㎏ decreased significantly the blood glucose in normal mice. 3. The mixture of asarones from Bambusae caulis in Taeniam at the oral dose of 20㎎/㎏ decreased significantly the blood glucose in normal mice and hyperglycemic mice. Therefore asarones was one of hypoglycemic principles of Bambusae caulis in Taeniam. 4. Bambusae caulis in Taeniam has the hypoglycemic activity because of improving the degenerative change of β-cell in Langerhan's islet by streptozotocin.

쥐와 생쥐의 혈관내 봉한관을 채취하는 새로운 방법을 개발하였다. 복대정맥과 동맥에서 양끝을 겸자로 묶고 혈액을 뽑아냄으로써 부서진 봉한관 조각들을 찾아 광학 현미경으로 관찰하는 방법이다. 장점은 피브린이 없이 순수 봉한관을 얻는 것이고, 단점은 그 길이가 너무 짧은 점이다. New method to obtain Intravascular Bonghan ducts of rats and mice were developed By extracting blood from caudal veins and arteries that were hold by forceps we took broken pieces of BHDs which were examined using microscopes. The advantage of this method is to gain the pure BHD without fibrin, and its disadvantage is the smallness of the sample.

압력을 증가시켜가며 맥파를 측정하여 맥파의 진동수와 푸리에 진폭이 가해준 압력에 따라 어떠한 양상을 보이는지 조사하였다. 맥파의 기본 진동수는 압력에 따른 변화를 거의 보이지 않았으며, 푸리에 진폭은 개인의 체질에 따라 몇 가지 유형으로 분류될 수 있음을 보였다. 이 유형들을 다시 푸리에 진폭이 최고점에 이를 때의 압력의 크기와 최고점에서의 상태를 유지할 수 있는 압력의 범위에 따라 맥상의 여러 형태와 연관지을 수 있음을 보였다. We investigate how the frequency and the Fourier amplitude of the pulse wave behave as the contact pressure of the sensor on the skin increases. The results are that the fundamental frequency of the pulse wave hardly changes and the Fourier amplitude has several different patterns depending on the personal constitution, and its patterns are classified. We also show that the classified patterns can be related to the different pulse types by the magnitude of the pressure required to reach the maximum Fourier amplitude and the range of the pressure at which the maximum Fourier amplitude is maintained.
