        정상 노인과 치매 환자간 임상화학적 검사 수치의 비교

        나이가 들어가면서 나타나는 여러 가지 변화를 임상적으로 검사하고 측정하므로써 건강상태를 예측하는 것은 노화를 지연시키고 건강한 삶을 유지하는데 상당히 유용하고 기초적인 지표가 될 것이다. 점차 증가일로에 있는 노인성 질환의 여러 문제점을 해결하기 위해 노령인구 집단을 정상군과 치매군으로 구분하여 13종의 임상 화학 검사를 시행한 결과, 두 집단 사이에서, 임상 생화학적 검사의 양상의 다를 것이라는 예측대로의 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 즉, serum albumin, APase, glucose, GOT, LDH 등의 수치는 정상군과 치매군 사이에서 현저한 차이를 보이는 반면, bilirubin, BUN, cholesterol, creatinine, total protein 등의 검사 수치에서는 별다른 차이를 볼 수 없었으며, 그 밖에 calcium, GPT, Pi 검사 등의 결과에서도 두 집단 사이에서 차이를 보였다. 이것은 치매가 체내에서 많은 생화학적 변화를 일으킴을 시사하고, 치매 발병에 여러 가지 환경 요인이 영향을 미치게될 것이라는 결론을 유도할 수 있게 한다. The measurement of many biochemical changes that could be appeared as aging will be resulted in the very useful and basal marker to maintain healthy life and to predict the health condition and the retardation of the aging. We classified the geriatrics into the normal and same aged dementia on the based of clinical diagnostic as well as MMSE evaluation. And then we were collected blood samples from both groups and examined 13 biochemical assays to screen any valuable biochemical index for dementia. Among 13 assays, several assay data showed the statistically significant differences between two groups. The values of serum albumin, APase, and GOT were significantly decreased in demented group compared to control. On the other hand, the values of glucose and LDH were increased in dementia compared to control. Additionally, the value of Pi was increased but the values of calcium and GPT were decreased, without significant difference (p>0.05). The values of other assays such as bilirubin, BUN, cholesterol, creatinine and total protein did not show any statistically significant differences. Conclusively it may be suggested that dementia might be resulted in the variable biochemical changes which could be affected by many environmental factors as well as dementia itself.

      • 참다래 수품종의 형태적 특성과 RAPD에 의한 유연관계 분석

        To examine the taxonomic relationships among 13 male kiwifruits by 36 morphological characters, principal component analysis and cluster analysis were carried out. Of 36 characters, hair density on ventral midribs and between ventral midribs, leaf length/leaf width ratio etc. were considered as very useful characters for the classification of Actinidiacea plants and number of white dots on branch, full flowering period and flower color etc. also showed significant differences among A. deliciosa, A. chinensis and wild kiwis. Results of cluster analysis using scores of the principal component indicated that 13 male kiwifruits could be grouped into A. deliciosa, A. chinensis and wild kiwis phenon at 0.5 of average distance in WMVCA. This result was also very similar to that of RAPD analysis. However, it seems that more characters including various kinds of Actinidia species are needed for the exact classification.

      • CPPU유도 참다래 단위결과 과실의 특성

        This study was designed to find out an alternative to artificial pollination in kiwifruit production. The parthenocarpic kiwifruits induced by (N-2-chloro-4-pyridyl)-N-phenyl urea (CPPU) treatment tended to be less attractive due to deep furrowing and excessive outgrowth of stigma in mature fruits. Especially, on flower buds after CPPU spray, severe fruit-drop was induced. It was considered enough to spray CPPU at more than 4ppm to attain sufficient fruit set but needed to spray CPPU at more than 16ppm to attain marketable fruit size. When CPPU at 16ppm was sprayed to the same flower once, twice or three time, the fruits received CPPU treatment more time was larger but less attractive. Application of CPPU mare than at 16ppm seemed to be necessary to produce fruits heavier than 80 gr. Enlargement of the fruits received CPPU treatment mainly occurred cross wisely and vertical development was not affected and thickening of outer pericarp primarily contributed to the fruit enlargement. Difference in flesh color or contents of vitamin C and sugars between control fruits and CPPU-treated fruits was not noticed. In conclusion, CPPU treatment to induce parthenocarpic kiwifruits could be commercially applicable, only the method for improving fruit appearance is worked out.

      • 노년기에서 보여지는 생리적·정신적 측면에서의 남녀간 차이

        The study for the geriatrics is increasing because that human being has been long lived with the advancement of medicine. Following that trend, the purpose of this study is to checkon the fact that many changes in the aged may be influenced by the sex type. After the variable examinations were established to detect mental and physiological differences between male and female old, they were surveyed in the aged above 60 living Opo-myoun Kwangjoogoon, Kyounggido and then 21 clinical assays were carried out for them at the serum level Consequently, differences according to the sex type were appeared in many test items. At first, results of 11 clinical assays were significantlly different to p-value <0.1 or 0.05. Indeed, men's values were higher than women's in RBC, Hb, HCT, MCH, bilirubin, creatinine GOT and GPT assays. On the other hand, Women's values were higher in MCV, MCHC ant cholesterol, Additionally, we screened the breakage degree of those results from the value of adult's index. As the result, those degrees were more serious in one of the sex type shown relatively lower values. Besides, many variations according to the sex type were also confirmed by the survey data. It was shown significantlly high at male in the grades of scholarship, wisdom and gloominess(p<0.05). These phenomena might be so resonable under the consideration for educational situation in the past and mental stress ocurred at the social life. Conclusively, many mental and physiological variations in the aged could be also accelerated as the sex type in addition to the aging and this fact would be influenced by many environmental factor, too.

      • 하계 집중 호우에 따른 강화도 갯벌 퇴적물 내 공극수 성분 변화

        2007년 7월 10일부터 8월 9일까지 강화도 남단 동검리 갯벌에서 표층 퇴적물 6 cm 이내 화학 성분(CO₂, NH₄^(+), Fe^(2+), SO₄^(2-), HS^(-))의 농도를 측정하였다. 조사 기간 동안 세 차례의 태풍(EWINIAR, BILIS, KAEMI)과 폭우 (110∼202.5 mm)가 있었다. 그로 인해 염분은 7∼21 psu(practical salinity units)의 범위를 보였고, CO₂, NH₄^(+), Fe^(2+), SO₄^(2-), HS^(-)의 농도는 각각 84∼159, 5.52∼16.46, 3.56∼9.69, 160∼461, 0.58∼0.99 mmol m^(-2)의 범위로 나타났으며, 전반적으로 폭우 이후 급격히 감소한 후 다시 회복되는 경향을 보였다. 이러한 결과는 폭우 이후 담수 유입 증가에 따른 희석 효과를 반영하고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 물리적 교란에 의해 혐기성 상태의 분해 산물이 재산화 됨으로써 퇴적물 내 혐기성 조건이 완화되었음을 의미한다. 본 연구 결과는 향후 기상이변에 따른 집중호우가 갯벌 내 생지화학적 과정에 큰 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 지시해 준다. Concentrations of pore water constituents CO₂, NH₄^(+), Fe^(2+), SO₄^(2-), HS^(-) within top 6 cm sediment were measured from 10 July to 9 August 2007 at Donggeom intertidal mudflat of the south Ganghwa in Korea. There was a typhoon (EWINIAR, BILIS, KAEMI) and heavy rainfall (110∼02.5 mm) of three times during the period. Therefore salinity ranged from 7 to 21 psu concentrations of CO₂, NH₄^(+), Fe^(2+), SO₄^(2-), HS^(-) ranged 84∼159 , 5.52∼16.46, 3.56∼9.69, 160∼461 0.58∼0.99 mmol m^(-2), respectively, and constituents were steeply decreased after heavy rainfall and recovered again. These results reflected the dilution effect by the increasing of freshwater discharge after heavy rainfall and implied that physical disturbance led to less anoxic conditions in the sediment by reoxidizing the anoxic decomposition products. This results also implied that the short-term heavy rainfall may have a profound impact on the sediment biogeochemistry.

        그레이브스병에서 사람 TSH 수용체 발현 Chinese Hamster Ovary 세포 ( hTSHR-CHO ) 와 FRTL-5 세포로 측정한 갑상선자극항체 활성의 차이 및 임상상과의 관계

        Background : Thyroid stimulating antibodies result in the development of hyperthyroidism and goiter in Graves disease. However, thyroid stimulating antibody activities do not correlate with the clinical features in many patients with Graves disease. The purpose of this study is to address this discrepancy between thyroid stimulating antibody activities and clinical features of Graves patients. Methods: We measured thyroid stimulating antibody activities simultaneously using human TSH receptor transfected Chinese hamster(hTSHR-CHO) cells and rat thyroid(FRTL-5) cells in 57 untreated patients with Graves disease, and compared their activities with clinical features including thyroid hormone levels. Results : The detection rate of thyroid stimulating antibody measured by hTSHR-CHO cells was 90% in 57 untreated Graves patients and it was higher than that measured by FRTL-5 cells. Thyroid stimulating antibody activity by hTSHR-CHO cells was significantly correlated with that by FRTL-5 cells(r=0.5, p$lt;0.001), however, 18 of 57(32%) patients showed marked discrepancy of thyroid stimulating antibody activity between in hTSHR-CHO and FRTL-5 systems. Thyroid stimulating antibody activity measured by hTSHR-CHO cells was significantly correlated with serum total T3, free T4 levels, and goiter size but not 99mTc-thyroid uptake. On the other hand, thyroid stimulating antibody activity measured by FRTL-5 cells was significantly correlated with goiter size and 99mTc-thyroid uptake but not thyroid hormone levels. The difference between function and goiter size with respect to thyroid stimulating antibody measurement in two cells system is, nevertheless, particularly evident in the free T4/goiter ratio in patients with high hTSHR-CHO and low FRTL-5 cell assay values. Conclusion: These findings suggest that thyroid stimulating antibodies in Graves disease are heterogeneous population in terms of responses to different origin of cells. Further, thyroid stimulating antibody activities measured by FRTL-5 cells tend to correlate better with goiter size and Tc-thyroid uptake, whereas thyroid stimulating antibody activities measured by hTSH-CHO cells correlate better with thyroid hormone levels(J Kor Soc Endocrinol 11:18-29, 1996).
