Behavior-Based Manipulator Programming Based on Extensible Agent Behavior Specification Language
Hsien-I Lin,Chia-Hsien Cheng 제어로봇시스템학회 2014 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2014 No.10
Endowing a robot with skills to perform manipulative tasks has an important role in developing an intelligent robot. To manipulate objects, a robot needs perception and action skills. However, designing the programming framework to integrate a variety of skills in a robot system is a challenging task and significantly influences the robot performance. In this paper, we present a behavior-based manipulator programming framework which is based on Extensible Agent Behavior Specification Language (XABSL) to manage behaviors in a robot system. To achieve the flexibility and reusability of robot behaviors required for practice applications, the proposed concept is to implement a programming framework for robot manipulation into two steps: first, perception and action behaviors are created to endow a robot with fundamental skills to perform manipulative tasks; second, using the XABSL framework, the created behaviors are simply planned by an option graph. Because behaviors are planned to be activated by certain stimuli and respond accordingly, programming robot manipulative tasks becomes simpler. Moreover, by the programming framework for robot manipulative tasks, the programming effort is reduced considerably. In our experiments, we provide an extensive validation of the proposed behavior-based programming framework on the manipulative tasks such as stacking cubes and solving rubik’s cube.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare smoking prevalence and risk factors of smoking between Korean and Korean-Chinese middle school students. Methods: Data was collected from seventh and eighth grade students from 12 schools in Korea and 6schools in China. Descriptive statistics, Chi-square test, and t test were performed. Results: For data analysis 10,002 usable surveys were utilized. The smoking prevalence was higher in Korean-Chinese students than in Korean students. Risk factors, such as father smoking, friends smoking, gender, grade, academic achievement, alcohol use, and family income were associated with current smoking, and the differences in the two samples were significant. Korean-Chinese students were more likely than Korean students to have friends who smoked and a father who smoked. Smokers had a significantly higher rate of friends smoking, father smoking, and alcohol use. Korean-Chinese male students smoking prevalence was more than three times higher than Korean students. Korean students could sense a more anti-tobacco atmosphere in their environment. Korean-Chinese students were more likely than Korean students to perceive that it was easy to buy cigarettes and to smoke cigarettes in a public computer room. Conclusion: These results highlight the differences of smoking prevalence and risk factors between Korean-Chinese students and Korean students. The findings may help health educators and researchers to better understand adolescent smoking and risk factors cross culturally and aid in the development of more effective education programs, which could lead to preventing tobacco use among these populations.
Factors Influencing Breast Symptoms in Breastfeeding Women After Cesarean Section Delivery
Chia-Fen Hsien,Jung-Chung Fu,Cheng-Yu Long,Huey-Shyan Lin 한국간호과학회 2011 Asian Nursing Research Vol.5 No.2
Purpose The purposes of this study were to explore postpartum stress and breast symptoms in postpartum breastfeeding of parturient mothers as well as to identify the factors influencing the breast symptoms in breastfeeding women after cesarean section delivery. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted. A total of 162 breastfeeding women after cesarean section delivery were recruited from five hospitals in Taiwan. Structured questionnaires were used to collect data. Results The five highest postpartum stress comes from the flabby flesh of maternal belly, the baby getting sick suddenly, interrupted sleep, insufficient breast milk, and discomfort due to breast engorgement. The most two common breast symptoms in breastfeeding encountered by subjects in this study were breast engorgement and breast hardening, whereas the least common one was nipple bloody discharge. Cesarean section women with early suckling on the operating table had more breast symptoms in postpartum breastfeeding; and the higher the postpartum stress of them, the more the breast symptoms. Conclusions Breastfeeding in a comfortable condition is a key factor of precipitating breast milk secretion,so early suckling on the operating table may result in discomfort and stress of the woman and interfere with the secretion or production of breast milk. Additionally, it is a crucial factor of the success in breastfeeding that the nursing personnel can provide women help in maintaining breast milk production and secretion, taking care of a baby, and reminding women’s families (especially their husbands) of giving their assistance, encouragement and praises to relieve women’s postpartum stress.

DESTINATION BRAND COOLNESS: CONCEPTUALIZATION AND SCALE DEVELOPMENT
Hsiu-Yu Teng,Cheng-Hsien Tsai,Chia-Wen Hung,Hui-Chen Hung 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2023 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2023 No.07
Destination branding has become an important trend in modern tourism. The development of destination brands has become a strategic tool worldwide because of the growing competition between destinations. In recent years, many tourist destinations have combined unique, creative, and attractive elements to transform themselves into “cool” tourist destinations. Destination brand coolness refers to tourists’ subjective and positive perception of tourist destinations and their beliefs that the destination brand offer distinctive, novel characteristics and attributes that the visitors are attracted to. Creating destination brand coolness can help tourist destinations differentiate themselves from their competitive counterparts, thereby attracting tourists. However, no study has conceptualized the construct of destination brand coolness, let alone developing scales that measure destination brand coolness.
Rotary Inductive Power Transfer for LED Lighting Systems
Chung-Chuan Hou,Chia-Ming Chang,Wei-Hsiang Cheng,Hsien-Ching Huang 전력전자학회 2019 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2019 No.5
Rotary inductive power transfer (RIPT) systems have the advantages in wireless power transfer capability, unlimited angular position operation, and flexible light-emitting diode (LED) lighting application. Therefore, this study discusses the performances of RIPT for LED lighting systems in the frequency domain and time domain. The characteristics of the RIPT for LED lighting systems are measured under varied air gap, changed load, and so on. The simulation and experimental results are presented to validate the performances of the proposed scheme.

Objective: The malignant transformation (MT) of ovarian mature cystic teratoma (MCT)to squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is very rare. This study analyzed cases from multiplemedical centers in Taiwan to investigate the clinicopathologic characteristics, treatment, andprognostic factors of this disease and reviewed related literature. Methods: Pathological reports of 16,001 patients with primary ovarian cancer who weretreated at Taiwan medical centers from 1990 to 2011 were reviewed. In total, 52 patients withMT of MCT to SCC were identified. Results: Among all ovarian MCTs, the incidence of MT to SCC is 0.2%. The median age ofpatients was 52 years (range, 29–89 years), and the mean tumor size was 10.5 cm (range, 1–40cm). We analyzed the patients in our study and those in the literature and determined thatearly identification and complete surgical resection of the tumor are essential for long-termsurvival. In addition, adjuvant chemotherapy or concurrent chemoradiotherapy can be usedto treat this malignancy. Old age, large tumor size (≥15.0 cm), and solid components in MCTsare suitable indicators predicting the risk of MT of MCT to SCC. Conclusion: Similar to general epithelial ovarian cancers, the early detection of MT of MCTto SCC is critical to long-term survival. Therefore, older patients with a large tumor or those with a tumor containing a solid component in a clinically diagnosed MCT should beevaluated to exclude potential MT to SCC.
