      • The Role of Communication and Dialogue During Studies in Higher Education

        Gavrysh, Iryna,Khltobina, Oleksandra,Chernenko, Oleksandr,Roienko, Svitlana,Balanutsa, Oleksandr,Ivashchenko, Bohdan,Romankova, Kateryna International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2022 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.22 No.8

In modern society, the organization of the educational process plays an important role in education. Traditionally, it is through communication and dialogue between the teacher and the student that professional competence is acquired. As society develops, the demand in the global labor market changes and the requirements and criteria for specialists increase. Therefore, a new approach to managing the pedagogical interaction between a teacher and a student in the process of education in a higher educational institution allows a positive impact on the system of training specialists and opens up new prospects for the formation of competitive specialists. The issue of the quality of education is a key one and is covered in the documents regulating the process of educational activities. Also an important problem today is the transition to qualitatively new and innovative systems of training specialists and the departure from outdated models of managing pedagogical interaction in higher education institutions. The process of managing the pedagogical interaction between a teacher and a student is one of the most important for studying in the context of higher education. Thus, the main task of the study is to analyze the role of communication and dialogue during studies in higher education. As a result of the study, current trends and prerequisites for communication and dialogue tools during studies in higher education

Mechanisms of the Impact of Hashimoto Thyroiditis on Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma Progression: Relationship with the Tumor Immune Microenvironment

        Oksana Sulaieva,Olena Chernenko,Oleksiy Selesnov,Oleksandr Nechay,Oleksandr Maievskyi,Tetyana Falalyeyeva,Nazarii Kobyliak,Olena Tsyryuk,Yurii Penchuk,Dmytro Shapochka 대한내분비학회 2020 Endocrinology and metabolism Vol.35 No.2

Background: The relationship between Hashimoto thyroiditis (HT) and papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) remains uncertain. Weassessed the impact of HT on the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) in PTC. Methods: Thirty patients with PTC (group 1) and 30 patients with PTC and HT (group 2) were enrolled in this pilot study. The distribution and number of CD8+ lymphocytes, plasma cells (CD138+), regulatory T cells (forkhead box P3 [FOXP3+)], mast celltryptase (MCT+), and M2 macrophages (CD163+) were evaluated. To test the hypothesis that HT impacts PTC development viasignal transducer and activator of transcription 6 (STAT6) activation and M2 macrophage polarization, we investigated STAT6 expression in tumor and stromal cells. We also evaluated vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression by lymph node metastasis (LNM) status. Results: TIME showed significant between-group differences. Group 1 patients demonstrated immune desert or immune-excludedimmunophenotypes, while an inflamed phenotype with more CD8+ cells (P<0.001) predominated in group 2. Immune-excludedTIME was associated with the highest LNM rate. In PTC, LNM was associated with more numerous CD163+ cells. Moreover,LNM in group 1 was associated with increased numbers of mast cells peritumorally and FOXP3+ cells intratumorally and peritumorally. Group 2 demonstrated higher STAT6 but not higher VEGF expression in tumor cells. High VEGF expression was associated with LNM regardless of HT status. Conclusion: Concomitant HT impacted PTC signaling via STAT6 and TIME by increasing the number of CD8+ cells. LNM is associated with increases in CD163+ cells and VEGF expression in PTC, whereas HT affected LNM through different mechanisms.

Knowledge and Perceptions of Influenza Vaccinations Among College Students in Vietnam and the United States

Kamimura, Akiko,Trinh, Ha N.,Weaver, Shannon,Chernenko, Alla,Nourian, Maziar M.,Assasnik, Nushean,Nguyen, Hanh The Korean Society for Preventive Medicine 2017 Journal of Preventive Medicine and Public Health Vol.50 No.4

Objectives: Influenza is a significant worldwide public health issue. Knowledge and perceptions regarding the flu vaccination are associated with whether individuals obtain the vaccination. The purpose of this study was to examine how such perceptions were related to knowledge and self-efficacy regarding influenza and the flu vaccination in Vietnam and the US. Methods: College students (n=932) in Vietnam (n=495) and the US (n=437) completed a self-administered survey regarding knowledge and perceptions of influenza vaccinations in September and October 2016. Results: Vietnamese participants reported significantly lower levels of awareness about flu risk, higher levels of negative attitudes toward flu vaccination, lower levels of knowledge about the flu and vaccination, and lower levels of self-efficacy than US participants. Higher levels of flu and flu vaccination knowledge and self-efficacy regarding general responsible health practices were associated with lower levels of negative perceptions of flu risk and attitudes toward vaccination. At the same time, self-efficacy regarding responsible health practices was associated with higher levels of awareness of flu risk and lower levels of negative attitudes toward vaccination. Self-efficacy regarding exercise was associated with lower levels of perceptions of flu risk and higher levels of negative attitudes toward vaccination. Conclusions: Vietnam could benefit from influenza education based on this comparison with the US. In both countries, knowledge and self-efficacy were found to be important factors influencing perceptions of influenza risk and vaccination.

Effect of Aging on the Structure and Transformation Behavior of Cu–12Al–3.5Ni–0.7Ti–0.05RE High Temperature Shape Memory Alloy

        Pegah Dalvand,Shahram Raygan,Gabriel A. López,Mariano B. Meléndez,Volodymyr A. Chernenko 대한금속·재료학회 2020 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.26 No.9

In this study, the effect of isothermal aging on the thermoelastic martensitic transformation and microstructure of the asquenchedCu–12Al–3.5Ni–0.7Ti–0.05RE (RE = Ce, La) high temperature shape memory alloy was studied. The resultsshowed that the alloy microstructure and martensitic transformation are strongly influenced by the aging temperature ratherthan aging time. During aging at 350 °C the alloy was prone to both the precipitation of the γ2 phase and the bainitic transformation, resulting in a loss of martensitic transformation and damping capacity. The prolonged aging at 350 °C caused adecomposition of parent phase into the equilibrium γ2 phase alongside the α phase which produced a significant hardnessincrement. On the other hand, aging at 250 °C affected the microstructure only slightly producing insignificant shift in thetransformation temperatures. It was found that, the secondary phases including Ti-rich X-phase and the RE-rich phase werenot influenced by the aging process. The results prescribe a high temperature order of the stability of martensitic transformationfor this new alloy which is important for its high temperature shape memory applications.

Perceived Environmental Pollution and Its Impact on Health in China, Japan, and South Korea

        Akiko Kamimura,Bianca Armenta,Maziar Nourian,Nushean Assasnik,Kimiya Nourian,Alla Chernenko 대한예방의학회 2017 Journal of Preventive Medicine and Public Health Vol.50 No.3

Objectives: Environmental pollution is a significant global issue. Both objective (scientifically measured) environmental pollution and perceived levels of pollution are important predictors of self-reported health. The purpose of this study was to compare the associations between perceived environmental pollution and health in China, Japan, and South Korea. Methods: Data were obtained from the East Asian Social Survey and the Cross-National Survey Data Sets: Health and Society in East Asia, 2010 (n=7938; China, n=3866; Japan, n=2496; South Korea, n=1576). Results: South Koreans perceived environmental pollution to be the most severe, while Japanese participants perceived environmental pollution to be the least severe. Although the Japanese did not perceive environmental pollution to be very severe, their self-rated physical health was significantly related to perceived environmental pollution, while the analogous relationships were not significant for the Chinese or Korean participants. Better mental health was related to lower levels of perceived air pollution in China, as well as lower levels of perceived all types of pollution in Japan and lower levels of perceived noise pollution in South Korea. Conclusions: Physical and mental health and individual socio-demographic characteristics were associated with levels of perceived environmental pollution, but with different patterns among these three countries.
