Modeling for the strap combined footings Part I: Optimal dimensioning

        Gabriel Aguilera-Mancilla,Arnulfo Luévanos-Rojas,Sandra López-Chavarría,Manuel Medina-Elizondo 국제구조공학회 2019 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.30 No.2

This paper presents a new model for the strap combined footings to obtain the most economical contact surface on the soil (optimal dimensioning) to support an axial load and moment in two directions to each column. The new model considers the soil real pressure, i.e., the pressure varies linearly. Research presented in this paper shows that can be applied to the T-shaped combined footings and the rectangular combined footings. The classical model uses the technique of test and error, i.e., a dimension is proposed, and subsequently, the equation of the biaxial bending is used to obtain the stresses acting on each vertex of the strap combined footing, which must meet the conditions following: The minimum stress should be equal or greater than zero, and maximum stress must be equal or less than the allowable capacity that can withstand the soil. Numerical examples are presented to obtain the optimal area of the contact surface on the soil for the strap combined footings subjected to an axial load and moments in two directions applied to each column. Appendix shows the Tables 4 and 5 for the strap combined footings, the Table 6 for the T-shaped combined footings, and the Table 7 for the rectangular combined footings.

Trends in Scientific Literature on Atypical Antipsychotics in South Korea: A Bibliometric Study

        Francisco López-Muñoz,Winston W. Shen,Raquel Moreno,Gabriel Rubio,Juan D. Molina,Concha Noriega,Miguel A. Pérez-Nieto,Lorena Huelves,Cecilio Álamo,배치운 대한신경정신의학회 2013 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.10 No.1

Objective We have carried out a bibliometric study on the scientific publications in relation to atypical or second-generation antipsychotic drugs (SGAs) in South Korea. Methods With the EMBASE and MEDLINE databases, we selected those publications made in South Korea whose title included the descriptors atypic* (atypical*) antipsychotic*, second-generation antipsychotic*, clozapine, risperidone, olanzapine, ziprasidone, quetiapine, sertindole, aripiprazole, paliperidone, amisulpride, zotepine, asenapine, iloperidone, lurasidone, perospirone and blonanserin. We applied some bibliometric indicators of paper production and dispersion with Price's law and Bradford's law, respectively. We also calculated the participation index (PI) of the different countries, and correlated the bibliometric data with some social and health data from Korea (such as total per capita expenditure on health and gross domestic expenditure on research and development). Results We collected 326 original papers published between 1993 and 2011. Our results state fulfilment of fulfilled Price's law, with scientific production on SGAs showing exponential growth (correlation coefficient r=0.8978, as against an r=0.8149 after linear adjustment). The most widely studied drugs were risperidone (91 papers), aripiprazole (77), olanzapine (53), and clozapine (43). Division into Bradford zones yielded a nucleus occupied by the Progress in Neuro-Psychopharmacology and Biological Psychiatry (36 articles). A total of 86 different journals were published, with 4 of the first 10 used journals having an impact factor being greater than 4. Conclusion The publications on SGAs in South Korea have undergone exponential growth over the studied period, without evidence of reaching a saturation point.

Effect of Aging on the Structure and Transformation Behavior of Cu–12Al–3.5Ni–0.7Ti–0.05RE High Temperature Shape Memory Alloy

        Pegah Dalvand,Shahram Raygan,Gabriel A. López,Mariano B. Meléndez,Volodymyr A. Chernenko 대한금속·재료학회 2020 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.26 No.9

In this study, the effect of isothermal aging on the thermoelastic martensitic transformation and microstructure of the asquenchedCu–12Al–3.5Ni–0.7Ti–0.05RE (RE = Ce, La) high temperature shape memory alloy was studied. The resultsshowed that the alloy microstructure and martensitic transformation are strongly influenced by the aging temperature ratherthan aging time. During aging at 350 °C the alloy was prone to both the precipitation of the γ2 phase and the bainitic transformation, resulting in a loss of martensitic transformation and damping capacity. The prolonged aging at 350 °C caused adecomposition of parent phase into the equilibrium γ2 phase alongside the α phase which produced a significant hardnessincrement. On the other hand, aging at 250 °C affected the microstructure only slightly producing insignificant shift in thetransformation temperatures. It was found that, the secondary phases including Ti-rich X-phase and the RE-rich phase werenot influenced by the aging process. The results prescribe a high temperature order of the stability of martensitic transformationfor this new alloy which is important for its high temperature shape memory applications.
