        Selection of reference genes for Harmonia axyridis (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) feeding on different diets

        The selection of a stable reference gene is vital to gene expression studies and to improving the accuracy of RTqPCR data. With the deep research on the artificial feed of the Harmonia axyridis, there is an increasing need to evaluate the effects of feed on insects at the molecular level. To identify a reference gene to assess the expression of related genes in Harmonia axyridis (Pallas), ensure the reliability of target gene expression analysis using realtime PCR. Especially for H. axyridis were fed Rhopalosiphum padi (L.) or an artificial diet. In this study, the expression profiles of nine candidate reference genes, including 28SrRNA, 18SrRNA, RPS23, EF1, Actin, ATPase, GAPDH, UBI, RPL13 from different H. axyridis tissues (head, thorax, wing, leg, ovary, and fat body) were investigated. The stability of the nine candidate genes was assessed using geNorm, NormFinder, BestKeeper and RefFinder software, and a comprehensive analysis showed that EF1 is a suitable reference gene for eating different diets of different organizations from H. axyridis. 28SrRNA, 18SrRNA, and RPS23 can also be used as reference genes, but Actin, ATPase, RPL13 are not suitable as an internal reference gene

        Intradural Transpetrosectomy for Petrous Apex Meningiomas

        Objective : This study aimed to assess the surgical results of the intradural transpetrosectomy for petrous apex meningiomas (PAMs). In addition, we describe the methods and techniques used to expose and manage superior petrous vein and greater superficial petrosal nerve. Methods : The authors conducted a retrospective study of 16 patients with PAMs operated by the senior author via the intradural transpetrosectomy between February 2012 to May 2017. We reviewed patient data regarding the general characteristics, surgical technique and surgery-related outcomes and adopted a combined follow-up strategy of clinic and telephone contacts to evaluate postoperative complications. Results : Simpson grade I and II resection was performed in 10 out of 16 cases (62.5%), and grade III resection were reported in the remaining six cases (37.5%) with no resultant mortality. The mean Karnofsky Performance Status score was 85.6 preoperatively and improved to 91.9 postoperatively, with a mean follow-up period of 34.4 months (range, 6-66 months). Tumor recurrence was found in two patients and they underwent the second surgical operation. Conclusion : PAMs could be completely resected by the intradural transpetrosectomy with an improved survival rate and postoperative life quality. Superior petrous vein and greater superficial petrosal nerve should be managed properly in avoidance of postoperative complications. Finally, most meningioma inside cavernous sinus or adhered to brainstem could be totally removed without postoperative complications.

        Quantum Error Correction of Photon Loss with Quantum Encoding

        Long distance quantum communication with high fidelity is the main obstacle to create quantum network. A scheme to recover the loss of one photon with a three-to-eight qubit encoding is presented. The qubit loss is first detected using a quantum nondemolition measurement and then transformed into a standard qubit error by inserting a new photon. The state of qubits is reconstructed via a sequence of one projective measurement, two single-qubit gates, and seven controlled-NOT operations. No ancillary qubits are required. Finally the cost of resource is analyzed.

        가정용 소형 제습로터의 성능에 대한 실험적 연구

        여름철이 고온 다습한 우리나라에서는 잠열부하가 크기 때문에 에어컨만을 사용하면 냉방에너지를 많이 사용하게 된다. 이 때에 제습기를 동시에 사용하면 냉방 중 큰 비중을 차지하는 잠열부하를 줄일 수 있어 실내 공기질도 개선하고 냉방에너지도 절약할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 가정용 제습기에 사용되는 무기섬유 기질에 메탈 실리케이트가 함침된 소형 제습 로터에 대하여 항온항습실에서 로터 회전속도, 재생 공기온도, 실내 공기온도, 실내 상대습도, 제습부 전방풍속을 변화 시키며 제습 성능을 측정하였다. 제습 로터는 최적 회전수 (1.0rpm)가 존재하며 최적치를 초과하면 불완전 재생 등으로 제습 량이 급격히 감소한다. 재생온도가 높아질수록 재생에는 유리하나 제습-재생과정의 열적인 편차가 급격히 증가하여 제습량 이 감소한다. 따라서 최적 재생온도가 존재하는데 본 연구의 경우는 100oC로 나타났다. 상대습도의 증가에 따라 제습량도 증가한다. 이는 제습제의 제습능력이 상대습도에 의존하는 때문이다. 실내 공기온도의 증가에 따라 제습량도 증가한다. 이는 제습측 온도가 높을 때 재생측 공기와의 열적 편차가 감소하여 제습부의 상당량이 제습에만 사용될 수 있기 때문이다. 전방 풍속의 증가에 따라 제습량도 증가한다. 이는 전방풍속의 증가에 따라 열 및 물질전달계수가 증가하기 때문이다. In Korea, summer is hot and humid, and air-conditioners consume too much electricity due to large amount of latent heat. Simultaneous usage of dehumidifier may reduce the latent heat and save the electricity. In this study, dehumidification performance was measured in a constant temperature and humidity chamber for a small-sized dehumdification rotor made of inorganic fiber impregnated with metallic silicate. Variables were rotor speed, room temperature, regeneration temperature, room relative humidity and frontal velocity to the rotor. Results showed that there existed optimum rotor speed (1.0 rpm), and optimum regeneration temperature (100oC). Above the optimum rotor speed, incomplete regeneration is responsible for reduced dehumidification. Above the optimum regeneration temperature, increased temperature difference between regeneration and dehumidification process is responsible for reduced dehumidification. The amount of dehumidification also increases with the increase of relative humidity, dehumidification temperature and flow velocity into the rotor.

        Numerical and Experimental Parametric Study on the Mechanism of Web-Warping in Chain-Die Forming with Variable Cross-Section

        Chain-die forming is a new sheet metal forming process, which can be used to produce complex and variable cross-section UHSS automotive structural parts. In this paper, the web-warping and the longitudinal strain developed in the sheet metal during the chain-die forming process are investigated by the finite element analysis, and the accuracy of the model is verified by the experimental work by comparing the longitudinal strain of the product with a forming angle of 60°. The reasons for web-warping in chain-die forming and the effects of different process parameters on web-warping are analyzed. The results show that the side leg height has the most significant effect on the longitudinal strain development, followed by material strength, sheet metal thickness and turning radius. Likewise, the linear regression model confirms that the material strength has the most significant effect on the web-warping height while the forming angle and side leg height have less influence during chain-die forming variable cross-section profile.

        한,중 한자어 비교사전 구축을 위한 실제 사례 연구

        본고의 목적은 중국인 한국어 학습자를 위한 한·중 한자어 비교사전 기술 방법을 제안하는 것이다. 이는 한국어를 배우는 학습자가 한국 한자어와 중국 한자어의 용 법 차이를 정확히 알고 사용함으로써 오류를 최소화시키려는 데 목적이 있다. 한·중 한자어 사전은 한국 한자어와 현대 중국어의 사전 뜻풀이, 용례, 어원정 보, 한자어의 결합정보, 한·중 한자어 문법 단위로서의 대응관계, 한자어가 포함된 어휘묶음(lexical bundle)을 중심으로 중국인 한국어 학습자를 위한 한·중 한자어 비교사전 기술 방법을 제안해 보고자 했다. 기존의 한자어 분류 체계에 관련된 연 구를 분석하여 한·중 한자어의 대응 관계는 8가지로 나누고 그 다음에 기존 사전 과 관련 연구가 아직 해결하지 못하는 몇 가지 과제를 제시한 후 한·중 한자어 비 교사전 실제 사례를 통해서 한·중 한자어간의 다양한 대응관계별로 비교사전 기 술 방법을 제안해 봤다(4장``한·중 한자어 비교사전 실제 사례``). 본고에서 다루는 한·중 한자어 비교사전은 학습사전이고 이중어 사전이다. 한 국어 한자어에 중국어 단어나 대역어를 밝히고 용례들을 제시하며 추가 정보에서 는 한국에서만 쓰이는 한자어의 의미 연원정보까지 보여 줄 것이다(3장``한·중 한자어 비교사전의 거시/미시 구조에 대하여``). 그리고 한·중 한자어 문법 단위로서 의 대응관계, 한자어가 포함된 어휘묶음 정보(5장``한·중 한자어 문법 단위로서의 비교``)도 제공하고 중국어와 한국어 한자어의 동일의미와 차별의미를 일목요연하게 정리하고자 하였다. The purpose of this thesis is to exam the variety and different ways of correspondence relations between Sino-Korean and Chinese, considering mono-, and bi-lingual dictionaries of two countries; and, based on it, to propose a better way of Sino-Korean and Chinese comparison dictionary for Chinese learners studying Korean. To do so, this thesis, at first, propose 8 types of correspondence relations between Sino-Korean and Chinese, after going over previous studies worked on semantic classifications of Sino-Korean. Based on it, at second, we propose micro- and macro-structures of actual headword examples of Sino-Korean and Chinese. While doing so, we pay special attention to the variety of semantic corresponding relations especially in homonym and heteronym. There are many Sino-Korean words in Korean vocabulary. In addition, the use of Sino-Korean words is increasing because of continuous exchange between and Korea and China since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Sino-Korean words and Chinese characters have as common points and as differences since Korea started to use loan words from Chines due to the historic change and development of two languages. Moreover, ever since two countries developed their own ways of using characters for more than 1500 years, there have been appeared not little of different usages between Sino-Korean and Chinese; as a result, nowadays mary Chinese learners studying Korean could not understand Sino-Korean by its external forms by large.

        [$Ca^{2+}-activated\;K^+$ Currents of Pancreatic Duct Cells in Guinea-pig

        There are numerous studies on transepithelial transports in duct cells including $Cl^-$ and/or $HCO_3^-$. However, studies on transepithelial $K^+$ transport of normal duct cells in exocrine glands are scarce. In the present study, we examined the characteristics of $K^+$ currents in single duct cells isolated from guinea pig pancreas, using a whole-cell patch clamp technique. Both $Cl^-$ and $K^+$ conductance were found with KCI rich pipette solutions. When the bath solution was changed to low $Cl^-$, reversal potentials shifted to the negative side, $-75{\pm}4\;mV$, suggesting that this current is dominantly selective to $K^+$. We then characterized this outward rectifying $K^+$ current and examined its $Ca^{2+}$ dependency. The $K^+$ currents were activated by intracellular $Ca^{2+}$. 100 nM or 500 nM $Ca^{2+}$ in pipette significantly (P<0.05) increased outward currents (currents were normalized, $76.8{\pm}7.9\;pA$, n=4 or $107.9{\pm}35.5\;pA$, n=6) at +100 mV membrane potential, compared to those with 0 nM $Ca^{2+}$ in pipette $(27.8{\pm}3.7\;pA,\;n=6)$. We next examined whether this $K^+$ current, recorded with 100 nM $Ca^{2+}$ in pipette, was inhibited by various inhibitors, including $Ba^{2+}$, TEA and iberiotoxin. The currents were inhibited by $40.4{\pm}%$ (n=3), $87.0{\pm}%$ (n=5) and $82.5{\pm}%$ (n=9) by 1 mM $Ba^{2+}$, 5 mM TEA and 100 nM iberiotoxin, respectively. Particularly, an almost complete inhibition of the current by 100 nM iberiotoxin further confirmed that this current was activated by intracellular $Ca^{2+}$. The $K^+$ current may play a role in secretory process, slnce recycling of $K^+$ is critical for the initiation and sustaining of $CI^-$ or $HCO_3^-$ secretion in these cells.
