In this study, new moment-resisting precast concrete beam-column joint is proposed for moderate seismic regions. It has the connection reinforcing bars, penetrated the joint and lap-spliced with the bottom bars of precast U-beam. An experimental study was carried out to investigate the joint behavior subjected to reverse cyclic loading and constant axial compressive load. Three precast beam-column interior were tested. The variables examined were the type of connection reinforcing bars and presence of transverse reinforcement in joint. Joint performance is evaluated on the basis of connection .strength, stiffness, energy dissipation, and drift capacity. Based on the test results, the precast connection is capable of matching or exceeding the performance of the monolithic connection and thereby provides the sufficient moment-resisting behavior to be applicable for moderate seismic regions.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Herein, we prepared Pt-, Pd-, and Ru-promoted Ni–Ce<SUB>0.6</SUB>Zr<SUB>0.4</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB> catalysts with improved oleic acid deoxygenation performance and investigated their physicochemical properties by N<SUB>2</SUB> adsorption-desorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), NH<SUB>3</SUB> temperature-programmed desorption (NH<SUB>3</SUB>-TPD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this study, a series of Ni−Ce<SUB>0.6</SUB>Zr<SUB>0.4</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB> catalysts, which were synthesized by co-precipitation followed by calcination at different temperatures, were applied for the deoxygenation of oleic acid. The physicochemical properties of the catalysts were characterized by N<SUB>2</SUB> adsorption-desorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), H<SUB>2</SUB> chemisorption, H<SUB>2</SUB> temperature-programmed reduction (H<SUB>2</SUB>-TPR), NH<SUB>3</SUB> temperature-programmed desorption (NH<SUB>3</SUB>-TPD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The Ni−Ce<SUB>0.6</SUB>Zr<SUB>0.4</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB> catalyst calcined at 300 °C exhibited the highest conversion for oleic acid as well as selectivity for diesel-range compounds. It is predominantly related to the highest amount of free NiO species. Analysis of Aroma Compound Profiles in Doenjang (Soy Paste) Made from Twelve Different Soybeans.

Fermented soybean food is one of most economical and health food due to its valuable nutritional and medicinal attributes and have been consumed for centuries as flavoring ingredient in Korea. On fermented soybean food such as doenjang, aroma compounds are important property because they determine taste and grade of fermentation. This study investigated variety of aroma compounds of doenjang made from different soybean genotypes. Aroma compounds in twelve different doenjang made from two cultivar (Daewon and Taekwang) and ten elite lines were extracted by steam distillation extraction (SDE) method and analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Aroma compound were detected over 80 kinds in eight samples (Daewon, Taekwang, MY177, MY187, MY189, MY192, MY204 and MY205) and under 70 kinds in four samples (yeonchun1, MY188, MY203 and MY206). Among the detected aroma components, 47 compounds were assigned as aromatic compounds (21), long chain fatty acid (13), short chain fatty acid (5) and others (8) by the computer library (Wiley 7n program). The major aroma compounds in twelve different doenjang were benzaldehyde, benzeneacetaldehyde, 2-methoxy-4-vinylphenol, pyrazine type compounds, cysteaminesulfonic acid, palmitic acid, oleic acid and linoleic acid. Each doenjang made by same condition (microbe, temperature, aging time and etc) had a difference in ratio and variety of aroma compounds due to different components having soybean genotype.
鷄鳴散이 endotoxin으로 誘發된 白鼠의 血栓症에 미치는 影響

This study was performed to investigate the effect of Keomyungsan(鷄鳴散) on the intravascular coagulation induced by endotoxin in rats. The intravasular coagulation was induced by injecting endotoxin in the caudal vein of rats. And these rats were treated with extract of Keomyungsan(鷄鳴散) 1.5ml/200g (Group Ⅰ) and Keomyungsan(鷄鳴散) 3.0ml/200g (Group Ⅱ), which were administered orally. Then, the number of blood cells, platelets, concentration of prothrombin time, fibrinogen and FDP (fibrin-fibrinogen degradation products) were measured. The following results were obtained : 1. The number of platelets increased in the Group Ⅱ compared with the control group, but it is not signifiant. 2. The prothrombin time was shortened significantly in the Group Ⅱ compare with the control group. 3. The concentration of fibrinogen increased significantly in the trial group compared with the control group. 4. The degree of concentration of FDP decreased significantly in the Group Ⅱ compared with the control group. According to the above results, it is considered that Keomyungsan(鷄鳴散) has the significant effects on thrombosis. Therefore, Keomyungsan(鷄鳴散) seem to be applicable to the diseases related to thrombosis.
만성 발목 불안정성(CAI) 환자와 건강 대조군 간 종합적 발목관절복합체의 생체역학적 특성

Objective: To investigate the static and dynamic analysis of ankle joint complex between subjects with chronic ankle instability (CAI) and healthy controls. Method: A total of 38 subjects and CAI group (N=19) and healthy control (N=19) participated in this first study. Variables that were measured in this study were as follows: 1) Subtalar joint axis inclination and deviation 2) Rearfoot angle 3) Navicular drop test 4) Heel alignment view in alignment analysis. Intra Correlation Coefficient (ICC) is used for reliability. A secondary 17 subjects are recruited including 9 of CAI and healthy for gait analysis between group. Lower extremity sagittal, frontal, and transverse kinematics were measured. All data were analyzed to ensemble curve analysis. Results: 1) There were statistically significant differences in standing rearfoot, navicular drop, heel alignment view, subtalar joint (STJ) inclination and deviation. 2) Only in sagittal, meaningful difference is showed during walking in gait analysis. Conclusion: Morphological problem can affect ankle sprain in aspect of structure with no relation to compensation of neuromuscular.
하지 검사 프로토콜을 이용한 전방십자인대 재건술 후 무릎관절의 객관적 및 주관적 분석

Purpose: Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) is one of the most common procedures in sports medicine. It is important for patients to determine whether or not to return to the pre-operative state after the ACRL. This study is to evaluate the objective and subjective analysis of the knee joint function and to compare between injured knee and non-injured knee in those with ACLR. Methods: This cross-sectional study recruited 15 individuals with ACLR using autograft (age, 27.87±4.10 years; height, 172.56±4.81 cm; weight, 75.51±13.03 kg; time to surgery, 27.11±14.03 months). International Knee Document Committee subjective knee evaluation form and Lower Extremity Assessment Protocol (LEAP) including muscle strength, static and dynamic postural control, functional task was used to assess the knee joint function. Deficit ratio between injured knee and non-injured knee and independent t-test were used for analysis. Results: Injured knee has significantly decreased isokinetic extension strength (90º/sec), isometric flexion strength and one-leg hopping distance (p< 0.05). Conclusion: Although individuals who successfully returned to play (RTP) did not experience subjective dysfunction and pain, there are items of LEAP that indicates deficit ratio between injured knee and non-injured knee. Therefore, when considered whether and when to RTP, it is very important to assess not only subjective dysfunction and pain but also whether the patient has recovered to a level similar to that of the non-injured knee in various aspects of the knee joint.
Isolation and characterisation of collagen from elk antler velvet

<P> Collagen was extracted from the antler velvet of elk (Cervus elaphus). Two types of collagen were prepared namely, acetic acid-soluble collagen and pepsin-soluble collagen. The electrophoretic patterns of both of the collagens showed that they were heterotrimeric, i.e. they consisted of α1α2α3. The total yield of the collagen obtained from the elk antler velvet was 12.1%. Amino acid analysis of the collagen by high-performance liquid chromatography showed that imino acid content such as that of proline and hydroxyproline was high, which might contribute to better visco-elastic properties. The peptide mapping of the collagens showed their similarity with porcine Type I collagen, thereby suggesting that the primary structure of both collagens is identical to that of porcine skin Type I collagen. The thermal denaturation temperature was 37°C, which is comparable to porcine Type I collagen and may also be as a result of high imino acid content. </P>
