      • 감마선에 조사된 생쥐에 있어서 방사선방어효과 평가를 위한 생물학적 파라메타

        This study deals with the biological changes in mice after γ-irradiation. Four weeks old BALB/c mice were irradiated with 6.5Gy of γ-ray on the fifth day after oral administration of radioprotectants such as ascorbic acid, tocopherol and cysteine. Control group was irradiated with 6.5Gy without pre-administration of radioprotectors. Blood cells and sperm cells were counted and body, testis and spleen were weighed 3 days after irradiation. And also liver antioxidant activity and range of spleen immune cells were measured. Differences in most biological parameters were not clearly distinguished between experimental groups. However, the relative spleen weight, the relative testis weight and the population size of spleen immune cells such as T helper cells, B cells and macrophages measured by means of FACS showed significant difference between irradiated and radioprotectant administered group. It is concluded that the relative spleen weight, the relative testis weight and the population size of spleen immune cells are easy and useful parameters for assessing the effect of radioprotective substances and for quantifying biological damage of radiation, as well.

      • 팔로3징의 외과적 치료

        목적 : 비교적 드물게 보는 선천성 심질환중의 하나인 팔로3징에 대한 본원에서의 진단 및 치료 경험을 임상적으로 관찰하여 보고함으로써 향후 이 질환의 개심술 성적을 향상시키는데 기여하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 경북대학교병원 흉부외과에서 1980년 3월부터 1997년 2월 사이에 개심술을 받았던 환자들 중에서 심도자검사 및 수술소견에 의해 팔로3징으로 진단되었던 8례를 대상으로 술전증상과 진찰소견, 술전의 심초음파검사, 심도자검사 및 심혈관조영술의 소견들을 검토하였고, 수술소견으로는 폐동맥협착과 심방중격결손의 해부학적 형태, 체외순환시간과 대동맥차단시간, 수술방법, 술후 합병증 및 수술사망률 등을 조사하였다. 그리고 평균 4.8년에 걸친 술후 추적관찰을 하였다. 결과 : 술전 진단에 있어서는 2례에서 오진되어 있었고, 술후 조기의 병원사망례는 없었으나 1례에서 류마치스성으로 추정되는 다발성 심장판막질환으로 8년후 인공판막치환술을 받았는데 패혈증으로 사망하였다. 나머지 환자들은 모두 양호한 경과를 취하였다. 결론 : 이 질환의 술전 진단에 있어서 과거에는 상당한 오진이 있었음을 알 수 있었고, 술전 증상이 심한 환자가 많았던 사실을 감안하면 개심술 성적과 술후 경과는 양호한 편이었다. Eight parients with trilogy of Fallot, characterized by the combination of pulmonary stenosism, atrial septal defect(ASD) and Rt-to-Lt shunt in the atrial level in the presence of an intact ventricular septum, underwent surgical correction between March 1980 and February 1997. Four patients were male and four were female. Their ages ranged from 2 months to 20 years with a mean age of 12.1 years. Cardiac catheterization and angiocardiogram were performed in all patients and 2D-Echocardiographic studies were obtained in 4 patients before operation. The preoperative diagnoses were tetralogy of Fallot(TOF) + ASD in 2 cases, trilogy of Fallot in 6 cases had combined pulmonary stenosis. The atrial septal defect was closed by primary suture in 6 cases and patch closure was done in 2 cases. The pulmonary stenosis was correctied by valvotomy in 2 cases, valvotomy + infundibulectomy in 2 cases, valvotomy + infundibulectomy + right venr tricular outflow tract reconstruction in one case, valvotomy + infundibulectomy + transannular patching in 3 cases. No operative death resulted, but one patient expired after undergoing mitral valve replacement and tricuspid annuloplasty for mitral insufficiency, tricuspid insufficiency and pulmonary valve insufficency 8 years later. All surviving patients have remained in good condition.

      • 국내에서 유행하는 HIV의 전파 경로에 따른 Subtype 분포

        Background : Previous data have been reported that subtype B is prevalent in South Korea, but neither the extent nor the proportion of subtypes could be evaluated. This study was designed to analyze the distribution of HIV-1 subtypes, temporal instructions and transmission dynamics between epidemiological groups. Methods : 1,280 Koreans had been diagnosed as HIV seropositive during the period 1985 to 2000. Among them, 134 individuals were selected for this molecular epidemiological study. 134 DNAs were isolated from uncultured or cultured peripheral blood mononuclear cells. V3-V5 (0.7 kb) fragment of HIV-1 env gene was amplified by nested polymerase chain reaction and was sequenced. Results : HIV-1 isolates from thirty-seven homosexuals were all subtype B (100%). On the other hand, 66 isolates from 94 heterosexuals were subtype B (70%) and 28 were non B subtypes (30% : 13 A, 4 C, 2 D, 8 E , 1 G). Only subtype B strains were isolated from 73 males who were infected with HIV inside Korea while 16 B and 20 non B subtype strains were isolated from 36 males who were HIV infected outside of Korea. However, B and non B strains were isolated half and half from females who were infected inside Korea except one. Conclusion : The HIV-1 subtype B strains are prevalent in Korea from the early HIV infection until present in both homo and heterosexuals. Non B strains have been transmitted from men who were infected outside Korea to their spouses and casual partners. So, we need further study to monitor subtype B and non B HIV transmission in epidemiological groups of Korea, (Korean J Infect Dis 33:311∼318, 2001)

      • 우리나라 화학물질 관련 사고 대비 및 대응체계 분석

        Recently, several large chemical accidents took place in many countries. Therefore, many countries strengthened the regulation related to management of chemical safety. In case of our country, about 500 chemical accidents took place for the past decay. The preparation and response system for chemical accidents is a most important element for management of chemical safety. In this study, we analyze the preparation and response system for chemical accidents described in several regulations of our country, and suggest a more appropriate management system for chemical safety. Accident report documents vary among the Toxic Chemical Control Law, the Fire Services Law and the Industrial Safety and Health Law. In case of the Fire Services Law, there is not a concrete description about the source chemical of accident. The response authority for chemical accident is dualistic. Minister of Government Administration and Home Affairs is responsible for emergent rescue, on the other hand, ministers of central administrative branches are in charge of reconstruction of chemical accident. Therefore these dualistic system make confuse in response to a large chemical accident.

      • 쇠비름 수침액이 방사선 조사에 의한 생쥐의 생존율과 뇨중 아미노산 조성에 미치는 영향

        A study has been conducted to investigate the radioprotective effects of purslane extracts (P) when I.p. injected before irradiation (R). For studying the amino acid composition , three groups of ICR mice (7-week-old) were tested. The first group I.p. injected with purslane extract for 5 days were irradiated with 6 Gy of γ-radiation (P+R). The second group was irradiated with 6 Gy without any pretreatment (R). The third group was non-irradiated control (CT). Each group divided into two groups for the survival rate study, one injected with saline (S) and the other injected with purslane extract (P) for five days and then irradiated with 8 Gy. The amino acid composition of urine samples were analyzed with HPLC for 19 days after irradiation. A few kinds of amino acids such as lysine and methionine in urine from P+R group increased in comparison with those from CT or R group. The survival rate of P group maintained much higher than that of S group during experimental period. The results obtained may support that this plant has radioprotective substances by means of life-lengthening, not of urine amino acid components.

        鹽生植物 나문재의 生育特性과 利用可能性

        기능성식품 원료, 채소, 식물성 소금 재료 및 제염식물 등으로 개발이 유망시되는 염생식물인 나문재의 육지부 재배 가능성을 조사하고, 내륙지방에서의 작물화 가능성을 검토코자 전남 서해안의 염전 부근에 자생하는 나문재의 종자와 식물체를 공시하여 내륙지방인 전남 무안군 소재의 『목포시험장』포장에서 시험하였던 바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 가. 나문재는 식물체를 이식하여도 생육이 양호할 뿐만 아니라 2년 묵은 종 자에서도 발아가 잘되었으며 발아소요 기간은 9일 정도 였고, 나문재의 생육은 소금기가 부족한 내륙에서도 비교적 양호하였으며, 병충해나 기타 재해도 거의 없어 내륙에서의 재배화 가능성이 높은 것으로 인정되었다. 나. 나문재의 생육에 미치는 소금물의 공급 효과를 검토하기 위해 1주일 간격으로 바닷물 농도의 소금물을 공급한 결과, 초장은 소금물을 공급한 것이 공급하지 않은 것 보다 양호하였으나 줄기의 굵기와 분지발생 수 는 소금물 공급효과가 크지 않았다. 다. 나문재의 생체중과 건물중은 종자파종의 경우 7월 10일 현재 소금물 처리구는 각각 주당 33.75g, 2.62g인데 비해 무처리구는 각각 23.52g, 1.84g으로서 소금물 처리구가 무겁고, 생체중에 대한 건물중의 비율은 대체로 7.14∼11.58% 범위로서 수분함량은 92.86∼88.42%정도 되는 다육식물 이었다. 라. 결론적으로 나문재는 소금기가 많은 곳에서 잘 생육할 뿐만 아니라 소금 기가 적은 곳에서도 생육이 비교적 양호하며, 식물전체에 짠맛을 가지고 있으므로 식물성 소금, 기능성 식품, 채소, 그리고 간척지나 음식물쓰레기의 염분제거 식물로서의 이용 가능성 등에 대한 보다 면밀한 검토가 필요하다고 보여진다. The plant of halophyte, Suaeda asparagoides MIQ, which is mainly inhabit on tidal flat was investigated on their growth characteristics and cultural traits on inland condition, in order to get some informations on it's possible use for functional food, vegetables, medicinal herb, and salt removing plant from tideland, or food-waste. The plant, Suaeda asparagoides M_IQ., is well grown on inland condition. But the salt applicated plants were better than those of the non-treated plants in its vegetable growth. The plant height is about 78.5cm in salt application, compared to the 64.5cm in non-treated plot. But the stem diameter and the number of branches are not better in salt application compared to the non-treated ones. However, the fresh weight and dry weight of the plant in salt-application are better than those of the non-treated ones, which means the total biomass is more productive by the salt application. As a conclusion, the plant Suaeda asparagoides M_IQ, seems to be an available plant and need to more discussion for possible use mentioned in the above sectors, from the results of inland cultivation of which well grown and characteristics.

      • 동전형 수중스피커의 전기(동)임피던스 해석에 의한 등가회로 모델링

        Fisheries policy change from catching to farming requires more intensive consideration for aquaculture industry. The oceanic farm is a desirable cost effective aquaculture method. However, in order to gather fish in the oceanic farm, eating sound or any attracting sound should be radiated through underwater loudspeaker. In this paper, we researched the frequency range responding to fish and electrical impedance estimated by computer simulation on prototype underwater loudspeaker using equivalent circuit technique. It has been found in literature that the frequency range responding to fish is about 16Hz to 13kHz but sensitive frequency range is about 150Hz to 2kHz and sound pressure level is about 100dB to 150dB reference 1μbar. Therefore, frequency range and output sound level of designed underwater loudspeaker has been specified as 150Hz to 3kHz and 100dB to 145dB reference 1μbar, respectively. Electrical impedance of computer simulation is founded 789 for 629Hz using equivalent circuit technique.

      • 담금 방법을 달리하여 제조한 고추장중 에탄올 및 미생물의 변화

        메주, 코오지, 아밀레이스, 프로테이스 등을 사용해서 담금방법을 달리하여 제조한 고추장중 미생물균수의 변화와 에탄올 생성을 관찰하였다. 가장 많은 미생물은 호기성 세균이었으며 총균수는 1.1X10-1.3X10CFU/g이었고 반면 혐기성 세규수는 7.4X10-1.7X10CFU/g이었다. 90일 숙성 후 곰팡이보다 효모가 많았으며 코오지로 만든 고추장의 경우 30일 지난 후 곰팡이의 수가 4.2X10로 최대치를 보인 반면 효소를 첨가한 구는 90일 지나서 최고치에 도달하였다. 효모수는 프로테이스를 첨가한 구가 90일 지나서 최고치에 도달하였다. 효모수는 프로테이스나 아밀레이스를 첨가한 고추장이 90일 후에 가장 많았으며 메주 고추장은 90일후 가장 적은 것으로 나타났다. 에탄올 생성은 효모수가 가장 많은 아밀레이스 고추장보다 코오지 고추장이 제일 많이 생성되었다.

      • 소형 DC 모터의 음향신호 분석에 관한 연구

        The detection of small DC motor has been carried out mainly by field engineering using their ears or sense, but it is not resonable. This paper describes a study on development of real time flaws discrimination system in small DC motor using their sound signal analysis. On this subjects, some automatic methods have been researched, which are based on the analysis of the periodicity of the acoustic signal over a time window longer than the repetition interval of the signal. But it is hard to detect the signal by those methods. And those methods have not yet reseached the stage or practical use. A new method is proposed, in which the envelope of the power of narrow band signals are calculated, and periodicity of the interval of the signal is detected. The method can be applied in the cases where the period of flaw pulse is irregular and/or the frequency of flaw pulse is apart from the distinguished frequency components of the acoustic signal.

      • CMC 溶液 氣泡塔에서의 Gas Hold-up 및 氣泡크기 分布

        Gas hold-ups, bubble frequency and bubble size distribution in a bubble column reactor were evaluated experimentally in CMC solutions (<1.0%) with the two-phase flow signal processor. Gas hold-ups were able to be described by the function of the superficial gas velocity, which was represented with Φ=aU_G^b where a=0.018 and b=0.764. Bubble frequency was increased with superficial gas velocity, but this phenomenon was reduced drastically in the higher concentrations of CMC by the results of bubble coalescence (slug flow). Bubble size distribution was corresponded quite well with the logarithmic normal distribution model.
