Various skin conditions such as diabetic dermopathy, necrobiosis lipoidica diabeticorum, bullosis diabeticorum, granuloma annulare occur frequently in diabetes, although common lesions may be associated by chance. Pemphigus vulgaris(PV) is a blistering skin disease seen predominantly in elderly patients. This disorder is characterized by the loss of cohesion between epidermal cells with the resultant formation of intraepidermal blisters. These blisters rupture easily, leaving denuded areases that may crust and enlarge peripherally. In half or more of patients, lesions begin in the mouth: approximately 90% of patients have oromucosal involvement at some time during the course of their disease. But the relationship of this disorder with diabetes is not clear. We experienced a case of pemphigus vulgaris associated with NIDDM in 67 years old woman who was admitted due to painful oral ulcer and control of blood glucose, so we present this case with a review of literatures.

Chlorobis(isoprene)rhodium(Ⅰ) (3), prepared by olefin-exchange reaction of chlorobis(cyclooctene)rhodium dimer (2) with isoprene, reacted with benzaldimine 4 to give iminoacylrhodium(Ⅲ) ${\eta}^3$-1,2-dimethylallyl complex 6. Ligand-promoted reductive elimination of 6 by pyridine and P(OMe)$_3$ produced ${\beta},{\gamma}$-unsaturated ketimine 8, which was readily hydrolyzed to give ${\beta},{\gamma}$-unsaturated ketone 9. Other methyl branched dienes such as 2,3-dimethylbutadiene, 3-methyl-1,3-pentadiene, 2-methyl-1,3-pentadiene, 2,4-dimethyl-1,3-pentadiene, 3-methyl-1,4-pentadiene and 2-methyl-1,4-pentadiene, were applied the synthesis of ${\beta},{\gamma}$-unsaturated ketones. In case of 2,4-dimethyl-1,3-pentadiene, only ${\gamma},{\delta}$ -unsaturated ketone 25, 1,2-addition product, was obtained, may be due to the mono-olefin coordination.
Repurposing Screens of FDA-Approved Drugs Identify 29 Inhibitors of SARS-CoV-2

COVID-19, caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, has spread globally and caused serious social and economic problems. The WHO has declared this outbreak a pandemic. Currently, there are no approved vaccines or antiviral drugs that prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection. Drugs already approved for clinical use would be ideal candidates for rapid development as COVID-19 treatments. In this work, we screened 1,473 FDA-approved drugs to identify inhibitors of SARS-CoV-2 infection using cell-based assays. The antiviral activity of each compound was measured based on the immunofluorescent staining of infected cells using anti-dsRNA antibody. Twenty-nine drugs among those tested showed antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2. We report this new list of inhibitors to quickly provide basic information for consideration in developing potential therapies.

지난 2022년 국내 대기업 데이터센터의 화재로 인한 국민대표 SNS 서 비 스인 카카오의 먹통 이슈로 인해 재해복구 데이터센터가 중요하게 인식되고 있다. 이러한 재해복구 데이터센터 구축의 필요성에 따라 본 연구에서는 먼저 국내외의 데이터센터 현황 및 DR데이터센터 현황을 살펴보고 이와 관련한 문제점을 분석하였다. 또한, 데이터센터를 구축하기 위한 3가지 입지적 요건(환경, 통신·전력인프라)과 2가지 기준(부지 레벨, 사회경제/인력/정부)에 따라 제주가 가진 장·단점을 살펴보고 제주도의 민간 데이터센터/DR데이터센터 유치를 장려하기 위한 기술적 정책적 방안을 고찰해보도록 한다. Recently, in late 2022, Disaster Recovery Data Center is recognized as important due to the disruption issue of Kakao, the Korea' s #1 SNS service provider caused by a fire at their separated operating data center. In this response; the needs of establishing the Disaster Reovery Data Center, this paper is examining the brief current status of domestic and foreign data centers and D.R. data centers and analyzing the related problems. Moreover, according to three requirements (environment, communication and power infrastructure) and two criteria (site level, socio-economic/manpower/government) to find the r ight location for the data center, Jeju's strengths and weaknesses were examined, and considered with the technical and policy measures for Jeju Island to encourage for the attraction of private sector's data centers/DR data centers.
Generation of Cloned Transgenic Cats Expressing Red Fluorescence Protein1

<P>A method for engineering and producing genetically modified cats is important for generating biomedical models of human diseases. Here we describe the use of somatic cell nuclear transfer to produce cloned transgenic cats that systemically express red fluorescent protein. Immature oocytes were collected from superovulating cat ovaries. Donor fibroblasts were obtained from an ear skin biopsy of a white male Turkish Angora cat, cultured for one to two passages, and subjected to transduction with a retrovirus vector designed to transfer and express the red fluorescent protein (RFP) gene. A total of 176 RFP cloned embryos were transferred into 11 surrogate mothers (mean = 16 +/- 7.5 per recipient). Three surrogate mothers were successfully impregnated (27.3%) and delivered two liveborn and one stillborn kitten at 65 to 66 days of gestation. Analysis of nine feline-specific microsatellite loci confirmed that the cloned cats were genetically identical to the donor cat. Presence of the RFP gene in the transgenic cat genome was confirmed by PCR and Southern blot analyses. Whole-body red fluorescence was detected 60 days after birth in the liveborn transgenic (TG) cat but not in the surrogate mother cat. Red fluorescence was detected in tissue samples, including hair, muscle, brain, heart, liver, kidney, spleen, bronchus, lung, stomach, intestine, tongue, and even excrement of the stillborn TG cat. These results suggest that this nuclear transfer procedure using genetically modified somatic cells could be useful for the efficient production of transgenic cats.</P>

<P>Somatic cell nuclear transfer (scNT) is a useful way to create cloned animals. However, scNT clones exhibit high levels of phenotypic instability. This instability may be due to epigenetic reprogramming and/or genomic damage in the donor cells. To test this, we produced transgenic pig fibroblasts harboring the truncated human thrombopoietin (hTPO) gene and used them as donor cells in scNT to produce first-generation (G1) cloned piglets. In this study, 2,818 scNT embryos were transferred to 11 recipients and five G1 piglets were obtained. Among them, a clone had a dimorphic facial appearance with severe hypertelorism and a broad prominent nasal bridge. The other clones looked normal. Second-generation (G2) scNT piglets were then produced using ear cells from a G1 piglet that had an abnormal nose phenotype. We reasoned that, if the phenotypic abnormality of the G1 clone was not present in the G2 and third-generation (G3) clones, or was absent in the G2 clones but reappeared in the G3 clones, the phenotypic instability of the G1 clone could be attributed to faulty epigenetic reprogramming rather than to inherent/accidental genomic damage to the donor cells. Blastocyst rates, cell numbers in blastocyst, pregnancy rates, term placenta weight and ponderal index, and birth weight between G1 and G2 clones did not differ, but were significantly (P < 0.05) lower than control age- and sex-matched piglets. Next, we analyzed global methylation changes during development of the preimplantation embryos reconstructed by donor cells used for the production of G1 and G2 clones and could not find any significant differences in the methylation patterns between G1 and G2 clones. Indeed, we failed to detect the phenotypic abnormality in the G2 and G3 clones. Thus, the phenotypic abnormality of the G1 clone is likely to be due to epigenetic dysregulation. Additional observations then suggested that expression of the hTPO gene in the transgenic clones did not appear to be the cause of the phenotypic abnormality in the G1 clones and that the abnormality was acquired by only a few of the G1 clone's cells during its gestational development. $Al_2O_3$ 절연막을 게이트 절연막으로 이용한 공핍형 n-채널 GaAs MOSFET의 제조

본 논문에서는 반절연성 GaAs 기판위에 $Al_2O_3$ 절연막이 제이트 절연막으로 이용된 공핍형보드 n형 채널 GaAs MOSFET(depletion mode n-channel GaAs MOSFET)를 제조하였다. 반절연성 GaAs 기판위에 1 ${\mu}$m의 GaAs 버퍼층, 1500 ${\AA}$의 n형 GaAs층, 500 ${\AA}$의 AlAs층, 그리고 50 ${\AA}$의 캡층을 차례로 성장시키고 습식열산화 시켰으며, 이를 통하여 AlAs층은 완전히 $Al_2O_3$층으로 변환되었다. 제조된 MOSFET의 I-V, $g_m$, breakdown특성 측정 등을 통하여 AlAs/GaAs epilayer/S${\cdot}$I GaAs 구조의 습식열산화는 공핍형 모드 GaAs MOSFET를 구현하기에 적합함을 알 수 있다. In this paper, we present n-channel GaAs MOSFET having $Al_2O_3$ as gate in insulator fabricated on a semi-insulating GaAs substrate. 1 ${\mu}$m thick undoped GaAs buffer layer, 1500 ${\AA}$ thick n-type GaAs, undoped 500 ${\AA}$ thick AlAs layer, and 50 ${\AA}$ GaAs caplayer were subsequently grown by molecular beam epitaxy(MBE) on (100) oriented semi-insulating GaAs substrate oxidized. When it was wet oxidized, AlAs layer was fully converted $Al_2O_3$. The I-V, $g_m$, breakdown charateristics of the fabricated GaAs MOSFET showed that wet thermal oxidation of AlAs/GaAs epilayer/S${\cdot}$I GaAs was suitable in realizing depletion mode GaAs MOSFET.
