        산란사료 내 석회석에 대한 고막조개 패분의 부분 대체 급여가 산란후기의 난 생산성 및 난각질에 미치는 영향

        본 실험은 산란계의 칼슘 공급원으로서 국내산 고막조개패분(GAS)을 석회석과 대체하여 산란후기의 난각질에 미치는 영향을 조사하고, 부존 원료의 사료 자원화 가능성을 시험하기 위한 목적으로 수행하였다. 54주령 Hy-Line Brown Variety 산란계 암탉 200수를 공시하였고, Ca 3.6% 수준의 실험사료(Control)에 유사한 입자도의 GAS를 1%, 2% 및 3% 수준으로 석회석과 대체하여 첨가한 실험사료(GAS 1%, GAS 2% 및 GAS 3%)를 6주간 급여하였다. In vitro 용해도는 석회석에 비해 GAS에서 유의하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다(P < 0.05). 사료섭취량 및 난 생산성에서는 처리간에 통계적인 유의성이 있는 차이는 발견되지 않았다. GAS의 대체 수준이 증가함에 따라 주별 난각 강도 및 난각 두께가 증가하는 경향을 나타내었고, 전체 실험기간의 평균 난각 강도 및 두께의 결과에서는 처리간에 유의한 차이가 인정되었다(P < 0.05). 경골 파쇄 강도에서는 처리간에 큰 차이가 없었으나, 경골 내 회분 함량은 GAS 3% 급여구가 대조구에 비해 유의하게 높은 수치를 나타내었다. 혈청 내 Ca 및 P의 농도는 처리간에 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 본 실험의 결과로부터 산란사료내 석회석을 국내산 고막조개 패분으로 대체 급여를 통해 산란후기 난각질의 긍정적인 개선 효과를 기대할 수 있으며, 산란계 사료에서 Ca 공급원으로서 부존 자원의 효율적인 활용이 가능한 것으로 판단되었다. This experiment was conducted to examine the dietary effects of local granular ark shell(GAS) replacing limestone on egg shell quality in aged hens. A total of 200 Hy-Line Brown layers of 54-weeks-old were allotted into four treatments with five replications each. They were fed control(limestone only) 1% GAS, 2% GAS and 3% GAS diets for 6 weeks. GAS was substituted for coarse-type limestone at 0, 1, 2 or 3% of diet on weight basis. Particle sizes of limestone and GAS were within the ranges of 2~4 mm in diameters. In vitro HCl solubility of GAS was significantly lower(6.27 vs. 7.90%) compared to that of limestone(p < 0.05). The dietary treatment did not affect feed intake and egg production rate of the birds. Egg shell strength and thickness tended to be improved for birds fed the diets containing higher levels of GAS. The average egg shell strength and thickness of 2 or 3% GAS groups were significantly greater than those of the control (P < 0.05). The Tibial ash content of birds from 3% GAS group increased significantly as compared to that of the control. Tibial breaking strength, however, was not affected by the dietary treatment. Serum Ca and P contents of the birds were also not different among the dietary treatments. In conclusion, locally prepared GAS can be used as a calcium source in aged layer diet.

        Robust Higher Order Observer Based Non-linear Super Twisting Load Frequency Control for Multi Area Power Systems via Sliding Mode

        The article focuses on the design of higher order sliding mode observer (HOSMO) based super twistingsliding mode control (ST-SMC) for load frequency problems in an interconnected multi area power systems. Asudden load disturbance in any area can cause deviations in frequency and tie line power from their desired values. The proposed design functions for the improved overall performance of the system. High frequency oscillations(chattering) which is the main operational problem with SMC is investigated through ST-SMC. Firstly, with inherentadvantages of robustness, insensitivity to uncertainties and disturbances, the HOSMO estimates the system statesfrom the output and control signal. Secondly, the ST-SMC acts only on the first time derivative of sliding surface toensure finite time convergence of frequency and tie line power deviations. The supremacy of the proposed designcompared to modern state of the art lies in improved transient and steady state behavior, robustness and chatteringfree control without any loss in control accuracy. Furthermore, performance indices like integral square error (ISE),integral absolute error (IAE) and integral time absolute error (ITAE) for the said controller are found to be lessercompared to that of linear and nonlinear SMC. The said controller also results in acceptable frequency deviationwhen validated under random step load disturbances, parameter uncertainties, with an integration of renewableenergy resource and nonlinearities in power systems like generation rate constraints (GRC) and governor dead band(GDB).

        민영교도소의 현황과 과제

        전세계적으로 범죄 발생률의 증가로 교정시설 내 수용인원이 급속히 증가하면서 과밀 수용의 문제가 심각해졌다. 이에 대한 대안으로 각국은 교도소의 민영화를 실시하고 있는데, 교도소의 민영화는 수용인원의 증가에 따른 수용경비의 증 대, 교정교육의 실패에 따른 재범율의 증가라는 교정행위의 위기를 극복하고자하는 현실적인 대안이다. 우리나라도 지난 2010년에 기독교 신앙에 입각한 교정프로그램(신앙훈련, 생활훈련, 재활훈련 등)을 중심으로 운영되는 민영교도소로 소망교도소가 개소하였다. 민영교도소가 과밀수용에 따른 부작용을 없애기 위한 차원에서 설립되어 정부의 재정부담의 완화와 교정복지 확대를 통한 재범률의 감소 등 긍정적인 차원의 효과를 기대할 수 있지만 그 이면에는 우려의 목소리도 높다. 민영교도소가 문을 연지 5년이 지난 지금까지 그 실효성에 대한 논의가 많이 일어나고 있다. 그러나 민영교도소의 성과와 장점은 분명히 있다. 성급하게 부족한 부분들만을 가지고 성패여부를 따지기 보다는 논란이 되고 있는 부분들에 대해서 개선이나 보다 활성화할 수 있는 부분들이 있다면 그러한 부분들을 중심으로 앞으로 더욱 발전할 수 있도록 노력이 필요하다고 본다. Over-accommodation become a serious problem as increasing number of criminals in correct-facilities because of increasing crime rate globally. To solve this problem, many countries are conducting private management of prison. This is for overcoming the crisis of correct action that is called fail from reducing second conviction come from correct-education and for solving increased accommodation-cost come from increased criminals. In Korea, Somang prison, private prison, is open and ministrates based on christian correct program (faith training, life training and rehabilitation, etc.) Private prisons are built for solving the over-accommodation problem for positive results that relieve the governmental finance load and reduce the second conviction. But there are also potential side effects. It is true that there is a merit of private prison although there’s a debates for its effectiveness since the private prison has been opened during 5 years. If there’s a room for the betterment and activation, we have to do our best to achieve these positive sides rather than debating success or failure of private prison hastily.

        탈진운동 전·후 흡연시기에 따른 동맥경직도의 비교분석

        The present study is to identify comparative analysis on Arterial Stiffness by point of smoking before and after exhaustive exercise. Subjects were selected as male adult s who smoke more than 10 cigarettes per day for more than 3 years. Each group was composed of 11 subjects(t hree types of non-smoking, pre-exercise smoking and , all-time smoking) and they conducted Pre-exercise smoking and all-time smoking as well as progressive overload exercise to the all-out point. The results are as follow: 1) There was no interaction effect (p<.05) between each group and conducted exercise by those three types above but there was significant difference between point of time of smoking (before and after)(p<. 05). For PSG and ASG, brachial-ankle pulse velocity was significantly decreased, after smoking, when compared to stable status. For all of the three group, brachial-ankle pulse velocity was significantly decreased when compared to other point of time immediately after exercises (p<.05). 2) There was no interaction effect(p<.05) between each group and conducted exercise by those three types above but exhaustive exercise made left and right ankle-b rachial index decreased significantly in all of the three groups. There was no change of ankle-brachial index by point of time of smoking (p<.05). In general, our results suggest that smoking before exercise increases both left and right brachial-ankle pulse velocity and that the exhaustive exercise decreases both left and right brachial-ankle pulse velocity and ankle-brachial index. There was also a limitation in identifying the effect of smoking as exercise made brachial-ankle pulse velocity lower than smoking when exercise and smoking were activated at the same time. Thus, further study should focus more on study on arterial stiffness after the exercise (which divides smokers into two groups of stop-smoking and continued-smoking) and on correlation between smoking and exercise by various age groups and different sexes.

        Seventy three hydrolysable tannins and related compounds were isolated from seven Euphorbia plants. Among therm, 28 compounds including nine gallotannins, eleven ellagitannins and eight related compounds were selected according to the structural similarity. Cytotoxicity of them on the human tumor cell lines including A-549, SK-OV-3, SK-MEL-2, XF-498 and HCT-15 were evealuated by the SRB Method in vitro, 3,4,6-Tri-O-galloyl-D-glucose was shown to exhibit most potent cytotoxic effect(4.4μg/ml〈ED_(50)〈10.3μg/ml)

      • EXAMINATION OF 'GLOBAL ATMOSPHERIC TEMPERATURE MONITORING WITH SATELLITE MICROWAVE MEASUREMENTS' (3)CLOUD AND RAIN CONTAMINATION

        Observations in channel 1(Ch.1, 50.3GHz) and channel 2(Ch.2, 53.74GHz) of the Microwave Sounding Unit(MSU) over the convective areas of tropical oceans are analysed to reveal the nature of extinction (contamination) in these data. From this analysis we find Ch.2 data are not free from the influence of clouds and rain. Extinction due to clouds and rain manifests primarily as emission in Ch.1, and as absorption in Ch.2. Scattering due to hydrometeors in these channels apparently is of secondary importance. Furthermore we show, in the convective areas of tropical oceans, contamination due to hydrometeors in MSU Ch.2 data is significant and it is extensive in area. Based on this study we conclude Spencer, Christy, and Grody(this issue) underestimate this contamination.

        Comparison of Spectrophotometric, HPLC and Chemiluminescence Methods for 3-Nitrotyrosine and Peroxynitrite Interaction

        We have studied the interaction of 3-nitrotyrosine with peroxynitrite using three different methods; chemiluminescence, spectrophotometry and HPLC. Peroxynitrite-induced luminol or lucigenin chemiluminescence were significantly decreased by 3-nitrotyrosine, in concentrationdependent manners. The intensity of the peroxynitrite spectrum was also markedly reduced in the presence of 3-nitrotyrosine in the spectrophometric assay. However, there was no attenuation of the 3-nitrotyrosine signal in the HPLC assay after mixing with peroxynitrite. The interaction of 3-nitrotyrosine and hypochlorous acid (HOCl) was also studied via the hemiluminescence assay, where the HOCl-induced responses were markedly inhibited by 3-nitrotyrosine. These results suggest that caution should be taken when studying the levels or interactions of 3-nitrotyrosine.
