Double-barrier magnetic tunnel junctions (DBMTJs) were prepared from Co(75 nm)/Al2O3(2.3 nm)/ Co(5 nm)/Al2O3(2.3 nm)/Co(50 nm) sputtering pentalayer films. The ac electrical properties of asdeposited DBMTJs and those annealed in a vacuum at 100e350 C for 30 min were then investigated using a complex impedance spectroscopic technique. The ac impedance responses as a function of annealing temperature were further analyzed based on Maxwell's layered dielectric barrier and Maxwell eWagner capacitor models after considering the DBMTJs as having double-capacitor-type structures. The effect of thermal annealing on the ac transport behavior of the DBMTJs was interpreted by examining the equivalent electric circuits fitted to Nyquist plots of each different sample. The effects were found to be due to changes in the structural characteristics in both bulk and interface morphologies of Co and Al2O3 layers. The structural morphology determined the different ac transport modes that occurred in the DBMTJs.
Spatially adaptive denoising algorithm for a single image corrupted by gaussian noise
Tuan-Anh Nguyen,Won-Seon Song,Min-Cheol Hong IEEE 2010 IEEE transactions on consumer electronics Vol.56 No.3
<P>In this paper, we propose a spatially adaptive denoising algorithm using local statistics for a single image corrupted by Gaussian noise. The proposed algorithm consists of two stages: noise detection and noise removal filtering. To corporate desirable properties into denoising process, local weighted mean, local weighted activity, and local maximum are defined. Using the local statistics, constraint for noise detection is defined. In addition, a modified Gaussian noise removal filter based on the local statistics is used to control the degree of noise suppression. The experimental results demonstrate the capability of the proposed algorithm.</P>
Capacitor‑assisted active‑switched quasi‑Z‑source inverters with high voltage gain
Anh-Tuan Huynh,Anh-Vu Ho,Tae-Won Chun 전력전자학회 2022 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.22 No.12
This paper presents a novel topology called the capacitor-assisted active-switched quasi Z-source inverter (CA/AS-qZSI). The proposed CA/AS-qZSI topology has a high ac voltage gain and low voltage and current stresses on the diodes and extra switch in the Z-network. The design guide of the passive elements used in the proposed topology and a comparative study of the proposed CA/AS-qZSI and four other topologies with an active-switched impedance network are addressed. A new pulse-width modulation (PWM) technique using a sawtooth carrier signal is also suggested to reduce the switching losses of the diodes and switches. Compared with the traditional simple boost control method, the efficiency of CA/AS-qZSI using the new PWM technique is improved by 4–4.6%. The experimental results utilizing a prototype made in the laboratory demonstrate the performance of the proposed CA/AS-qZSI and PWM technique.
Design of an Advanced Wearable Sensor Platform for Multi Applications
Anh-Tuan Nguyen,Tung Hoang,Quang-Vinh Thai,T.T. Quyen Bui 제어로봇시스템학회 2015 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2015 No.10
In the emerging Internet-of-Things (IoT), wireless sensors are the vital mediators between the physical world and the cyber space. In many telemonitoring and interactive applications, high-rate data streams up to MB/s may need to be transported from the wireless sensors to the cloud computing servers over the Internet and processed by the remote servers in quasi-real time fashion. These applications generally demand substantial reduction of communication bandwidth, response latency and power consumption of these Internet-based cyber-physical systems. To tackle these demands for efficient use of communication, computing and power resources, we developed an advanced wearable sensor platform (AWSP) which integrated a powerful system-on-chip (SoC) processor, a smart power management unit, a highly accurate real-time clock and multi-function peripherals into a miniature module. This AWSP designed to function is capable of performing sophisticated data pre-processing including real-time artifact and noise removal, data compression, and even feature extraction before uploading the data to other devices like mobile phone, computer, etc. Furthermore, with the installation of embedded real-time Linux operating system, this sensor provides a familiar and powerful software development environment for system developers to build their computation-intensive real-time applications. This paper presents the design and development process.

<P>Phytoene synthase (PSY) and phytoene desaturase (PDS), which catalyze the first and second steps of the carotenoid biosynthetic pathway, respectively, are key enzymes for the accumulation of carotenoids in many plants. We isolated 2 partial cDNAs encoding PSY (<I>AsPSY-1</I> and <I>AsPSY-2</I>) and a partial cDNA encoding PDS (<I>AsPDS</I>) from <I>Allium sativum</I>. They shared high sequence identity and conserved motifs with other orthologous genes. Quantitative real-time PCR analysis was used to determine the expression levels of AsPSY1, AsPSY2, and AsPDS in the bulbils, scapes, leaves, stems, bulbs, and roots of garlic. High-performance liquid chromatography demonstrated that carotenoids were not biosynthesized in the underground organs (roots and bulbs), but were very abundant in the photosynthetic organs (leaves) of <I>A. sativum</I>. A significantly higher amount of β-carotene (73.44 μg·g–1) was detected in the leaves of <I>A. sativum</I> than in the other organs.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/jafcau/2011/jafcau.2011.59.issue-10/jf2009827/production/images/medium/jf-2011-009827_0003.gif'></P>
