Thi Nguyet Dung NGUYEN,Thi Thu Huong NGUYEN,Thi Phuong Anh NGUYEN,Thi Thu Huong NGUYEN,Thi Phuong Thao VU 한국유통과학회 2022 유통과학연구 Vol.20 No.5

Purpose: The paper employs the theory of planned behaviour, social identity theory, social presence theory, and social exchange theory to propose a model for using the social media platform Facebook in distributing information in universities. Research design, data and methodology: Data were obtained from 618 students at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) in Vietnam. The study used structural equation modeling in SPSS and the statistical analysis software AMOS version 24 to explore the information distribution role of Facebook. Results: Findings reveal that subjective norms and social presence play a key role in driving students to use Facebook for studying. In addition, university administrators can boost student satisfaction and academic achievement through Facebook. Interestingly, students who strongly identify with the brand name of the university have a strong connection with the university are more likely to engage in behaviors supportive toward the university. Conclusions: These findings show that Facebook had played a key information distribution role in universities. Thus, the study provides the executive board of the university and teachers can gain new understanding of why students employ Facebook for studying as well as capitalize on the platform to improve several operational metrics such as brand identification, student satisfaction, and academic achievement.

Economic Integration in ASEAN+3: A Network Analysis

( Thi Nguyet Anh Nguyen ),( Thi Hong Hanh Pham ),( Thomas Vallee ) 세종대학교 경제통합연구소 2016 Journal of Economic Integration Vol.31 No.2

This paper analytically and graphically explores the characteristics of ASEAN+3’s trade and Foreign Direct Investment integration over the 1990~2012 period by applying the tools of network analysis. Our results find evidence that the degree of trade and Foreign Direct Investment integration varies among ASEAN+3 member countries over the observation period. Second, ASEAN+3’s intra-regional trade network seems to be more densely connected than its intra-regional Foreign Direct Investment network. Third, we reveal that large and/or advanced countries seem to be better linked and form a subregional bloc of tightly connected economies only in terms of export absolute value. Therefore, ASEAN+3 has been experiencing a widening gap in the trend and patterns of intra-regional trade and Foreign Direct Investment among its member countries at different levels of economic development.

Facile one-step synthesis of Ir-Pd bimetallic alloy networks as efficient bifunctional catalysts for oxygen reduction and oxygen evolution reactions

Nguyen, Anh Thi Nguyet,Shim, Jun Ho Elsevier 2018 Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry Vol.827 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>This paper introduces a facile one-step process to synthesize highly interconnected nanoporous Ir-Pd alloys supported on carbon that exhibit excellent bifunctional electrocatalytic activities for both the oxygen reduction and oxygen evolution reactions with reasonable stability in alkaline electrolytes. Nanoporous Pd networks with crystalline {111} faces were shown experimentally to serve mainly as active sites for the oxygen reduction reaction, whereas the Ir nanoparticles incorporated in the Pd nanoframe networks, where the optimized Ir:Pd ratio was 0.23:0.77 (<I>n</I> = 10), were responsible for the oxygen evolution reaction. Such three-dimensional architectures provide a high density of active sites for the oxygen electrochemical reaction and facilitate electron transport. More importantly, the nanoporous Ir-Pd alloy nanocomposites exhibited similar stability for the oxygen reduction reaction but superior catalytic activity to the commercial Pd catalyst in alkaline solutions. In addition, the materials were also highly active for the oxygen evolution reaction, e.g., a small overpotential at 10 mA cm−2 (1.628 V vs. reversible hydrogen electrode), making it a high-performance bifunctional catalyst for both the oxygen electrochemical reaction. Rotating ring-disk electrode measurements showed that the oxygen reduction and oxygen evolution reactions on the Ir-Pd catalysts proceeded predominantly through the desired 4-electron pathway.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Facile one-step synthesis of a nanoporous Ir-Pd bimetallic alloy network. </LI> <LI> The composites exhibited bifunctional ORR/OER performance compared to Pd/C and Ir/C. </LI> <LI> Ir23Pd77/C exhibited the highest activity with good durability and overpotential. </LI> <LI> The properties of Ir23Pd77/C were due to its high surface area and high porosity. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>A highly active bifunctional electrocatalyst for the oxygen reduction and evolution reactions was developed based on a highly interconnected nanoporous Ir-Pd bimetallic alloy network.</P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

Evaluation of Efficiency of Electrically Assisted Rapid Annealing Compared to Rapid Induction Heat Treatment

Thi Anh Nguyet Nguyen,Howook Choi,Moon-Jo Kim,Sung-Tae Hong,Heung Nam Han 한국정밀공학회 2022 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.9 No.2

The athermal effect of electric current during electrically assisted (EA) annealing, which is a simple and cost-effective heat treatment technique, is assessed by comparing the performances of EA annealing and induction heat treatment (IHT), using aluminum alloy specimens with a high dislocation density from cold rolling. The dislocation densities after EA annealing and IHT are calculated using X-ray diffraction data to compare the performance of the processes. The performance of EA annealing clearly surpasses that of IHT in a certain temperature range. However, at higher temperatures, the thermal effect alone is able to induce nearly complete annihilation of dislocation density, thus, the practical advantage of EA annealing may diminish.

Calculation of parallel Peltier coefficient in rectangular quantum wires under the influence of confined optical phonons and electromagnetic waves using quantum kinetic equation

Dien Tang Thi,Ba Cao Thi Vi,Bau Nguyen Quang,Anh Nguyen Thi Nguyet 한국물리학회 2023 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.82 No.12

The infuence of confned optical phonons (confned OP) and electromagnetic waves on the Peltier efects in rectangular quantum wires (RQW) in a parallel magnetic feld is investigated. Theoretical results for the parallel Peltier coefcient (PC) are determined using the quantum kinetic equation method. It is defned as a function of the external magnetic feld, amplitude, and frequency of the electromagnetic wave, temperature, and size of the RQW, especially quantum numbers m1, and m2 characterizing the confned OP. The theoretical results are numerically appraised and graphed for the GaAs RQW model. It shows that confned OP not only increases the parallel PC but also expands the resonance position compared to the unconfned OP case. Besides, the parallel PC increases signifcantly as the temperature rises and the confned OP is the main cause of the increase in the parallel PC at low temperatures. In addition, the resonance peaks of the parallel PC are shifted to the region of the larger magnetic feld. When the width of the RQW is less than 20 nm, the parallel PC increases signifcantly. When the width of the RQW rises to infnity, the results of bulk semiconductors could be obtained.

Effect of nitrogen doping on the catalytic activity of carbon nano-onions for the oxygen reduction reaction in microbial fuel cells

Thi Hiep Han,Debananda Mohapatra,Neelima Mahato,Smrutiranjan Parida,Jun Ho Shim,Anh Thi Nguyet Nguyen,Van Quang Nguyen,조문환,Jae-Jin Shim 한국공업화학회 2020 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.81 No.-

In this study, highly graphitic nitrogen-doped carbon nano-onions (N-CNOs) were prepared by a onestep, direct, in situflame synthesis technique and their potential applications as catalysts for oxygenreduction reaction (ORR) in a microbial fuel cell (MFC) were evaluated for thefirst time. The ORR activityof the CNO, N-CNO, and the commercial Pt/C were measured using a rotating ring-disk electrode (RRDE). The reaction mechanism for the N-CNO was found to follow a four-electron transfer pathway and possessa higher onset potential in RRDE measurement than CNOs. The ORR activity of N-CNO was 5.4 timesbetter than that of CNO, which was attributed to the introduction of nitrogen to the carbon faramework. The MFC fabricated with the N-CNO cathode produced a maximum power density of 49.6 mW m–2, whichwas approximately double the performance of the CNO-based MFC. The performance of N-CNO was lowcompared to Pt/C but the cost per power was only 1/310th. These results confirmed that N-CNOs could beused as a low-cost alternative and an energy-efficient metal-free ORR catalyst for practical MFCapplications.

The taxonomy of the genus Asclepios Distant (Heteroptera, Gerromorpha, Gerridae), with description of a new species from Vietnam

Tran Anh Duc,Le Thi Phuong Linh,Nguyen Thi Anh Nguyet 한국응용곤충학회 2023 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.26 No.4

The taxonomy of Asclepios species is revised. Asclepios shiranui (Esaki, 1924), A. coreanus Esaki, 1930, and A. coreanus miyamotoi Esaki, 1937 are all determined to be junior synonyms of Asclepios apicalis (Esaki, 1924). A new species, Asclepios esakii sp. nov. from northern Vietnam, is described. Because Ascleopios apicalis and A. esakii sp. nov. co-exist in some localities, comparative characters for separating female specimens of two species are established. The revised key to species of Asclepios is also provided. Asclepios annandalei Distant, 1915 is reported from Vietnam for the first time; and the occurrence of A. apicalis (Esaki, 1924) is also updated. • Ternary Composite of Polyaniline Graphene and TiO2 as a Bifunctional Catalyst to Enhance the Performance of Both the Bioanode and Cathode of a Microbial Fuel Cell

        Han, Thi Hiep,Parveen, Nazish,Shim, Jun Ho,Nguyen, Anh Thi Nguyet,Mahato, Neelima,Cho, Moo Hwan American Chemical Society 2018 INDUSTRIAL & ENGINEERING CHEMISTRY RESEARCH - Vol.57 No.19

<P>Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) are a potential sustainable energy resource by converting organic pollutants in wastewater to clean energy. The performance of MFCs is influenced directly by the electrode material. In this study, a ternary PANI-TiO2-GN nanocomposite was used successfully to improve the performance of both the cathode and anode MFC. The PANI-TiO2-GN catalyst exhibited better oxygen reduction reaction activity in the cathode, particularly as a superior catalyst for improved extracellular electron transfer to the anode. This behavior was attributed to the good electronic conductivity, long-term stability, and durability of the composite. The immobilization of bacteria and catalyst matrix in the anode facilitated more extracellular electron transfer (EET) to the anode, which further improved the performance of the MFCs. The application of PANI-TiO2-GN as a bifunctional catalyst in both the cathode and anode helped decrease the cost of MFCs, making it more practical.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

Domain structure and finite-size effects in Sr2-La FeMoO6 nanoparticles: A study by magnetic measurements

Duong Nguyen Phuc,Nguyet Dao Thi Thuy,Loan To Thanh,Man Nguyen Khac,Anh Luong Ngoc 한국물리학회 2023 Current Applied Physics Vol.49 No.-

In this work, a model for the microstructure of Sr2-xLaxFeMoO6 nanoparticles samples (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.4) was established based on scanning electron microscopy and magnetic studies. The analysis reveals antiphase crystalline domains in the particles with the size distribution centered around mean values below ~12 nm for all the samples. Such small-size domains are responsible for the superparamagnetic properties observed for temperatures below room temperature, which are dependent on their dipole interactions. According to the fraction of Fe atoms at the antiphase boundaries calculated under the spherical domain assumption, these domains have lower degrees of atomic disorder than those estimated from the saturation magnetization values at 5 K, which are consistent with the high spin polarization values previously reported. The Curie temperature values, and the broadening of the magnetic phase transition can be satisfactorily explained based on the domain size distribution.
